Barkley isn’t great at pass pro.

I would disagree very much

I include this play to demonstrate that the Eagles see Mundt as more versatile than many here on the Blog do not. Here he's TE (actually wingback) on left side.

2026-09-24 (11).png

He releases up the field. The LB #33 keys on him.

2026-09-24 (12).png

The ball goes to Wicks on a square in as Mundt goes to the corner.

2026-09-24 (13).png

Mundt's job was to occupy the LB so Wicks could make the catch. What's notable to me is that Mundt ran the deeper route and he was open.

Thanks. Definitely noticed #83. Cool that you do this.

On the other hand Donald looked good, which was surprising.

Yes. But is he $20-30M good at this stage? I'll be surprised if he sustains this at his age. But a solid 1st game. Not sure he's that good in run defense anymore. He'll probably top out playing 60% of the snaps. He's on the small side for DT. Will see.

I tend to agree with him

Let's face it he kinda a stray jacket from the coach and a malcontent diva holding him back. It's making sense after the fact. But I truly envisioned this.

I've been saying for a month that we won't know what the offense is until weeks 4-6. That's something I still stand behind. The OL needs time to figure out the zone and build chemistry, the run game needs to drastically improve, but at the same time as good as the passing offense has looked that's only going to improve. We may be seeing "the best we've ever seen" of him, but there is more to come.

Read an interesting factoid - Ben Johnson has never called plays in an NFL game where his QB wasn't the first overall pick. Goff and Williams have always been his QB.

Maybe they can trade for Jaemis.

Agreed. Team should be judged after a couple of months. At least. So far so good. Lot of moving parts and still scoring 24 points a game and leaving a lot out there on the field. Can only see this going up. In all phases. Remember year 1 of Fangio new install? Didn't know what we had til 2nd half of the year. Similar situation. Pretty drastic change being undergone here.

Hes not bad

Hes definitely not great.

He finds the assignment. He gets in the way. He gives effort. Most of the time its adequate.

But he also does not have good technique. And hes not as good as you'd expect him to be for his size. And sometimes he gets beat. Other times he just doesn't hold his block well because his technique isnt good.

Hes pretty average there.

That might make him better than most RBs since most struggle with pass pro. So average is not really the right word. But... I dont know how else to put it.

Zach Berman must really like his Jalyx Hunt story. He’s tweeted it out 3 times today already

Agreed. But I’ll also say, the biggest things we needed to see this year were Mannion’s aptitude, Hurts adjusting to no AJB and a new offense, and the OL improving. For me, the 1st 2 have been emphatic positives through week 2 and "feels” way more sustainable than anything our offense has done since 2022. The OL is what could hold us back from being at that level and is still a huge question mark, at best.

If they had a decent OL the sky would be the limit. It probably still is even with their deficiencies

Micah Morris hasn't come up once. I think he played LG in college. At some point him or Majors needs to get a shot. They obviously like Micah more since they kept him on the 53.

Holy moly, according to this Jared Wilson is not getting it done for Pats (5% win rate!) - will they call us for Willie Lampkin🤣

Or sign Jake Majors off our PS.

Unless Jurgens is compromised/injured, I think they ride that move out for a little while. I'm thinking he is more playable than LD, but not by a whole lot. But can likely be adequate in pass protection eventually. What is gonna be hard to discern is his subpar play because he's playing a foreign position or is he compromised? Gotta think the overriding factor is experience and knowledge with the presnap adjustments and protections, that LD was able to do. Young guys may not be ready for that part of the job with the OL communication. So putting 2 young guys together (including Kendall) may be alot at this stage.

Here's a screen that went for a loss. The timing was off here. Hurts's throw is late and the play has no chance. It had a chance with a timely throw. Mundt lines up at RE.

The ball should be out here but it's not. The defense has time to react.

2026-09-24(1).thumb.png.886067bfc84efebd1fb6ee88ad9444a1.png

Both blockers have made contact but the receiver is just gathering the ball.

No gain. What is interesting to me is that the Eagles ran this same action several times but the ball went to the opposite side of the field, including a big play to Wicks. So, this play set up others. It shows some sophistication in Mannion's play calling.

The QB School spent a lot of time on that play’s poor timing. It’s a worthy watch.

While in some aspects the offense has looked better(namely Hurts) they're still 2nd worst in the NFL in 3 and out rate. That has to change. The OL sucking is a lot to do with that I think.

Penalties have been an important factor as well.
