EMB Blog: 2026 Regular Season (Part 1)

Featured Replies

Still shocked Howie has done nothing in terms of upgrading the roster the past month. No trades, no out of the box or under the radar signings, the TE spot is lowly in a new scheme that likes the TE. No clue what the thinking is, or non thinking.

The Rams TE room in comparison is the polar opposite of ours, depressing to see.

Hopefully Howie does something out of the blue for this team otherwise I'm just not seeing us going all that far. I'm not seeing a legit Super Bowl contender nor the division winner right now.

Division will be close at least but I have the Cowboys taking the division, sadly. I see a very tough toiling year battling their asses off to be in the playoff race.

Torn between 9-8 and 10-7. It's a coin flip.

I'm going Eagles 9-8 , miss playoffs in a tight wild card race due to tie breakers and Cowboys have a very good regular season.

I could see this going well if the o-line gets back to dominant status and Saquan/Tank running hard and strong. Defense needs to get even better and be top 3 or 4 to make a serious run too.

But my gut says it's not all gonna pan out and the offense just takes way too long to get going and not enough weapons through the air. If Howie makes some serious move(s) then I could have them squeaking into the wild card spot but I need to see what those moves even are.

Eagles 9-8

Cowboys win division

Lose out on the wildcard

Is she real? If so it should be against the law to be that gorgeous. A Jessica Alba type.

First of all, I generally fully support the Eagles' approach to training camp and preseason. It's been furiously debated over the last 5-10 years. The debate has faded because their approach has worked. But there is a cost do that approach; it is absolutely harder to know what you do and do not have in players. That makes it trickier to make a bold move to upgrade in late August/early Sept. In some of the positions where we have new faces with new, bigger roles....we (and the coaches, really) are going to have to wait until the first month of the season to really find out if they are up for it. IMO, this approach is still worth it.

The problem with this season is that there are too many questions. The health and viability of 3/5 of the starting OL, both starting safeties, every WR on the roster besides Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert's unpredictability (usually misses time and blocks really well...did neither in 2025), the entire offense getting a new scheme and very different coaching....

There are more balls in the air than normal. And Howie is going to have to wait to see which get handled properly and which crash to the ground before making a move.

Game week!

We are currently 4.5 point favorites. How? I see a double-digit victory. We have so much more talent. Folks here focus on our few deficiencies. Washington has a boatload.

Eagles 27 - Commanders 10.

@mattwill

Got it

I expect AJ to have a good first game as they will feed him to prove a point. Then we'll get to have round 5,324,789 of the Hurts discussion here. Fun

@mattwill 13-4 and all the negative nancys on here complain about the 4 losses and that Hurts sucks the whole season long (While Hurts wins MVP).

Can ya blame them? He's a dominant force on the field and they gave up a 1st rounder for him. They've needed a top wideout to get to the next level and now they have it. They have a QB that loves to sling it. They should be feeding him not sure why they wouldn't. Haters gonna hate no matter what and cherry pick numbers and concoct reasons to cope. AJ and Hurts haters alike

Yeah, you're doing a real bang up job with comments about frequency jamming and statements like these: "It’s the same concept as a hop sets radio or any with most other forms of crypto…the more input the quicker the drift on the Julian clock sync."

lol

Uh, I'm not the one who started off the exchange with a false statement that the broadcast clock and stadium clock weren't synched, only to have the big ten's official statement torpedo your credibility from the get go.

So let me get this straight…

Me: I won’t say that nothing nefarious happened but the official statement and narrative makes sense based off real world experiences and understanding of the system. While all 3 governing bodies have reviewed everything and agree with the findings.

You: no Michigan hacked, altered and doctored the super sophisticated time keeping system. My evidence is this screen shot from an incredibly inferior broadcast system that doesn’t take into account 1/10th of seconds. Explain how there is a variation.

Me: simple, give multiple examples

You: nah you’re stupid. Why doesn’t a simple alarm clock do this?

Me: 🤦 because an alarm clock isn’t tied to dozens of other systems trying to communicate through various networks while working around firewalls and interference.

You: I irrationally hate Michigan so I’m right.

Did I miss anything?

Personally, I hope Brown has an unbelievable 2026 season and wins MVP......then goes full TO, demands a new contract; doesn't get it and destroys their 2027 season with NE finishing with the worst record in the NFL. Not asking for much.

That’s exactly what is going to happen. 😆

T.O. was always super excited for his new team and "always wanted to be there an anyway” until he didn’t.

He’ll either be hobbled and not quite the player he was or he’ll be motivated and show be was never injured in the first place, proving he stole 30 million dollars from his employer. Fun stuff.

I think the truth is in between. He’ll try harder and play very well because he’s good but I think the injury wear and tear is real and I doubt it doesn’t surface at some point. Maybe that doesn’t happen until 2027 season but 17 games is a long time

🤣 sorry. I broke one of my cardinal rules. Semantics is the last bastion of perceived safety for the narcissist. I said my last piece and I’ll let him get his needed final word in and leave it alone. We can tear each other up about eagles football soon enough.

Going into 2024....

  • New OC

  • Jurgens and Becton first time starting at their positions

  • WR depth was a question

  • How will our prized FA signing (Bryce Huff) do as a starter

  • Will Carter and Smith show up in their second seasons

  • What shape will Davis be in

  • Rookies at CB and NCB

  • Baun playing ILB for the first time

  • Dean coming off of an injury

He's going to have a great season personally, but NE won't make the playoffs. He's going to try his hardest all year, force them to give him the ball, and it will cost them games just like it did here

12-5

I agree with your general sentiment. I'd say while the Eagles are the extreme in light practices the league mandates most of it at this point. I don't think even if the starters played a half in the preseason it would change anything.

I'm going with a win for the Birds to start the season and I believe the offense plays well controlling the clock and dictating the game, 31-10 Eagles. For the season I'm feeling like it's going to be a battle early with Dallas with the two splitting wins, but the Cowboys and Dak always fade away as the season develops and the Eagles take the division with a 13-4 record and earn the #1 seed.

@mattwill

I think you're underestimating how good the defense will be. And I can't say I'm 'depressed' over the TEs because Goedert & Mundt are solid but it is an exposure point. But yes it's certainly possible for Dallas to have a good regular season tho I'm not sold on Schottenheimer.

Negative people do not remember any concerns from prior successful seasons. Short memory for the positives.

Either Howie didn't make a move because simply nothing worth doing was available or he's preserving as many picks as possible because if this season doesn't go as expected I could see a major overhaul on the offensive side of the roster and I don't think it'll just be QB and head coach who could be outta here. Depending on how this season goes, next season could be a "step back for a year and retool" season and to do that you need picks.

Right now I'm leaning toward the former, but Howie always has his eyes on the future.
