However, that doesn’t calculate titans against the eagles had their most yards, highest yards per attempt, highest yards per carry, best 3rd down conversion rate, Cam ward’s best game, their best rushing performance of the season and the only game without a turnover.Like the defense isn’t getting helped by the offense. But at least I could understand what the offense was going to take time. They’re learning an entirely new system. They’re learning entirely new blocking scheme. They have a first time OC calling plays. So there’s a reason to believe the offense is going to struggle to start the season. The defense should not have nearly the amount of problems that they have had considering they have fangio and most of those guys played in this system few at least 2 years now if not moreEven with the offense hurting the defense a little bit, there’s no way to explain the first drive of the game. defense comes out and let them go 11 plays down the field for 66 yards and a touchdown in 6+ minutes. Bigsby put them in a **** spot. However, at halftime the time of possession was basically 17 to 13. Without the opening drive the eagles offense possessed the ball for 13 of the next 24 mins. The first half tank screwed them. Heck and they got the fortunate look that Rome odunze dropped a wide open touchdown on the tank fumble. So they got a gift to them for leaving him wide open and trying to have Nolan smith cover him. The other three possessions, two of them they couldn’t get off the field. They gave up 2 11-play drives resulting in points. the other one finally got off the field but it had changed field position. Heck we even got lucky on that cause bears special teams player grazed the goal line with his toe otherwise eagles would’ve been starting the next possession at the 1. Even though eagles offense moved the ball enough to pin the bears inside their own 20.

If you think that is being shredded, I don’t know what to tell you…I was referring to your comment about the offense not helping them but the offense gave the defense a whole half of football off last week basically

It took 6 minutes and 13 seconds. After that first drive the Eagles offense then possessed the ball 13 out of the next 24 minutes. I can’t really blame the Eagles offense screwing the defense except for tank fumbling the ball in the first half. Heck the defense stepped up there. Although I could make the argument odunze was an MVP of that red zone stop as he bobbled an open pass that should’ve been an easy TD. Even the Eagles first possession, they move the ball enough to have the bears start inside their own 20. So they changed field position. The Eagles D allowed bears to move down the field and change field position as well. Frankly if it wasn’t for another bears mistake where the special teams player had his toe tap the goal line, the Eagles would’ve been starting at the 1 yard line.

I’ve been there. After cardinals beat us in the nfc title game. I live in Az. Ditto when dbacks came back from down 2-0 in the nlcs. The offense has a boatload of problems. They look like they were gonna be able to run the ball in the first half. Saquon had 73 yards. And they actually looks good running it to the left side. Second half that completely disappeared. Somebody had the stats that he and the offense is just awful in the third-quarter. Kind tells me other teams are picking up his tendencies and making adjustments. The concern with the defense is a lot of these guys have played in the system. Fangio has been here now going on three years. I expect week one not gonna be as good. Week two they’re gonna get a little bit better. Week three they’re gonna get a little bit better. And you hope by week four or five, they really get going. But I don’t think that’s gonna happen as too many holes we didn’t have in he previous years. The pass rush isn’t getting there. Tend to think this is the thing that’ll actually improve. They’re not creating turnovers in theory can’t be worse than what it is now. Cooper DeJean looks like he’s playing hurt and he’s not nearly as good with that injury. Their safety spot is atrocious. Campbell looks lost in coverage and he also is bad against the run. The defense in the middle of the field is just bad right now. defensive line is making a lot of money for mediocrity.
September 29Sep 29 Anyone who isn't pissed off, disgusted, and a bit emotional over that game doesn't love them. One upside is Cam seemed to block better when they ran to his side. I habe no idea why they ran towards Steen the 2nd half when he sucks at run blocking. So much of tonight is a product of Howie doing a poor job of things. Do I expect perfection? No. Am I grateful he is with the Eagles? Yeah, but the problem is he overlooks big problems. The draft last year seems like a flop outside of maybe a center late. Can the first two improve? Maybe, but they are regressing not improving. What the hell is he thinking taking a project TE knowing you have a hole at safety with a good player on the board? The goal is to win a SB this year and he chose Epps and a luxury pick. He deserves to get hammered for that regardless of what Eli becomes. The only way you make that pick is if you sign another safety or make a trade. Flat out arrogant and stupid, especially when Mukuba is made out of glass. I don't know that I have hope for him trading for one at this point because his in season trades have been garbage.
September 29Sep 29 I said something similar a couple pages back. You hired Mannion to run his offense. This is what he knows. It’s his background. this is the style you want to run as an organization. The issue is your head coach (who is an offensive coach), does not know this system. His background is not in this. So you’re trying to combine what he wants and his offense with this entirely new and different scheme/system. Hope is at some point in time, the meshing works and they figure it out. There’s a chance it just doesn’t do that and it doesn’t co-exist. If it can’t then you have to make a decision. Do you wanna go forward with Sirianni. Which means likely going have to run his offense the best way that he knows how. Or if the Mannion/lafleur/mcvey/shanahan type offense is truly what you want then it likely means moving on from sirianni (not going into the hurts discussion as that’s an entirely different rabbit hole I am not going down right now)

Trying to push his crappy offense into Moore's scheme. After the bye week everyone (players included) said enough was enough and we ran Moore's offense the way he intended.
September 29Sep 29 Games like this are so frustrating and tend to piss people off more than usual because we understand the importance of each game in the NFL, especially early in the season. And when you have an opportunity to face a 3rd string QB and completely blow the game and take a loss when it should be a win is just extremely frustrating. These early season losses usually always seem to haunt us in seeding.

What he was implementing he had done so before as an offensive coordinator elsewhere. This is mannion’s first rodeo. And he’s learning how to call plays at this level. I think there was more trust in Kellen Moore due to his overall experience to make that type of switch and being able to do what he wanted to with the offense then there might be with Mannion. Also I really don’t think Kellen Moore‘s ideal offense was run heavy offense and be conservative along with efficient with the passing game so we limit turnovers (some of that is the Qb you have/had). With shough the saints are 55/45 pass to run ratio. Now the plays/designs I can believe shifted to all Moore. But that offense being conservative and not turning the ball over that feels very much like sirianni. I’m sure it kills sirianni that the last two games we have 5 turnovers.

September 29Sep 29 1 minute ago, Diehardfan said:How do we know Nick is doing thatSeyed, Hoffman and Fran have kind of touched on it in different podcasts. some of the stuff they had success with in week one and two was plays/scheme/blocking they have done in the past with multiple different OCs. which lends to things sirianni likes. Which it’s fine if Mannion incorporates some of it into the offense. No reason you can’t. The bigger concern to me is if they struggle mightily with new concepts/the new stuff Mannion is implementing deeper into the season. then it could be a personnel problem, Mannion struggling as 1st time OC to get it working or both.
September 29Sep 29 Lots of suck last night and not really surprising to be honest. Hurts took a step back which was probably the worst part. I’m almost ready to accept DeJean at safety. Something has to be done there.
September 29Sep 29 I think there’s a lot of green tinted glasses going on and I think it has been for a year now. There’s a belief that Nolan Smith is a really good DE but the evidence suggests he’s not. There’s a belief that Hunt can be a top DE but so far he’s not. He’s been a really good story for a project pick but he’s not elite and I don’t think he ever will. At some point we might need to take a good look at Carter. He got paid this offseason but the reality is he’s been mostly potential up to this point in his NFL career. We want to believe the OL can fix things but this has been an issue for over a year. Jurgens isn’t what he was. Dickerson wasn’t what he was and probably never will be. Lane is in his last year and Steen just isn’t good. The OL is old, broken down or just not good.We thought they’d get it fixed last year and in the end they didn’t. It’s started the same way this year.
September 29Sep 29 There is clearly a lot of issues at the moment. I trust them to sort some of them out but not all of them as i honestly don't think its possible. Sometimes you have a bad game and it sounds like this was one of them. Its a bit worrying though. No one gets a free pass and they really need to sort the glaring holes out in the roster.
September 29Sep 29 The defensive line is highly concerning. Carter and Davis both got paid big money and can't control the line of scrimmage. These guys literally get pushed off the ball for a guaranteed 4-5 ypc. Our ends can't contain the edge in the run game because they are too small. They can't finish the job and get sacks either. So what exactly are these high paid guys doing? At least our crappy safeties aren't getting paid huge contracts to suck. Hell even Baun looks lost out there. The only one that consistently does his job is Quinyon. Woolen was pretty solid until last night. Everyone else has been awful. I fear that Jordan Davis contract is going to age like milk.

September 29Sep 29 Not really much about last night you can sugarcoat. A mediocre team playing a bad game. There are holes and lots of minor negatives all over the field and they all add up.Long season but I think next week is a bad loss with the boo birds out. The London game the week after will then be a fork in the road game one way or the other.
