It's funny. For once I'm not as down as others. We were 20-10 before stupidity lost us the game. Cooper stepped up big time and it was great to see. Hurts threw a bad ball and Cooper was amazing

Only other negatives were the injuries. Felt like the body bag game

I agree, I'm not trying to turn him into a quick read QB. He's not.

I'm talking about teaching him the ins and outs of a system and actually having the answers to what DCs are going to throw at him. They clearly don't. We see the same things every week and they have no answers at all

Maybe he gets that chance with his new team next year than.

Since 2022 he has not lived up to his expectations, even in the SB year which was off the back of Barkley and the Defense. Hurts had an amazing SB game but we know who lead us to that game

With Hurts needing a new deal it does not look good that he will be back in Eagles green next year unless we see a drastic change in his play over the remainder of the season. Odds are not in his favor

Not to mention this team is now strapped with terrible contracts that are going to be hard to move on from and hinder this team from adding actual talent. Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Cam Jurgens, Landon Dickerson. Not to mention Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are Jags. Jury is still out on Greenard but that could be a bad contract as well. Jihaad Campbell is also a bum, mixed with we have no safeties or TEs currently because we have no clue what Stowers will become and Goedert is old and hurt. Holes everywhere. That's why they just need to go ahead and let go of Hurts as well when his contract is up and completely rebuild. Because giving Hurts another big extension will really set this team back.

Hard to believe this is the current state of this franchise.

We were so well set up after the SB win for a long window.

It’s unimaginable to be this hopeless a year (now 2) later

As I watch other teams I can’t help but see how bad this team is.

Expand on the Case Keenum in Chicago reference then.

Keenum plays in a Ben Johnson offense, numbnuts, the antecedent of which was Gase and Martz's variants of an Air Coryell offense. Much more vertical than a Shanahan WCO style passing attack.

It is painful... Today, I was just waiting for the final shoe to drop... and it did.

Eagles have managed to morph their offense into the Phillies.

The offense was built around Jalen's strengths. We have had 5 OCs, all adding their own components and the issues still persist. Sirianni's philosophy is to build around the team's strengths. If we built it around a different QB, we might see an entirely different offense. When we plug a typical QB into the Jalen Hurts offense, they are probably not going to look good either.

I think it is an important conversation. I like Jalen, his work ethic, and loved it when he used to actually run and keep defenses off balance. But he is telling us he needs to play better, the offense needs to execute better, etc... and he's the team leader, why is he still telling us this instead of going out there and doing it?

I dont know what to think of hurts, hes a solid person and his work ethic is second to none, and im not sure hes able to function at a high level in a timing west coast offense.

Having said that his o line is pretty bad and he was missing his top 2 guys and Barkley snd his RT .

But 80 something yards in a whole game isnt acceptable no matter who ever is or isnt on the field

Having said that was anyone surprised that Trotter looked better than campbell

Stout and the OL obviously made a deal with the devil… make us the best unit of all time, but take it all way ignominiously. All glory is fleeting.

Injuries really took a toll on our o-line. Hard to see that coming. Dickerson and Jurgens were good players but injuries have really derailed their careers and made them basically unplayable. Going into next year they really need to replace Dickerson, Jurgens, Steen, and Johnson. And not to mention all the holes on the defense. Going to be hard to do. Window is definitely closed.

Well obviously I have the benefit of hindsight, but Dickerson has always been high risk for injuries, and giving Jurgens a big extension after major back injury and surgery?

I don’t know man, Howie may have just had his 2 worst off seasons in a looong time.

This team has always been starter/star driven with limited depth behind it. When AJ would go out in the past, the offense would look like a disaster and they wouldn’t be able to move the ball. That was the case today with no DeVonta, Saquon going down, and we all know the win/loss splits when Lane doesn’t play. A team like SF gets destroyed by injuries every year but remain competitive. Nick has always been reliant on his players rather than implementing a scheme that can translate to all of his players.

What many of us have been trying to tell you all for six years now has been on consistent display over these past two seasons. With any luck, we either have a drastic turn around (doubtful) or we can finally head in a different direction

I don’t think it is a deal with the devil. I said after they won and everyone just believed they could replicate what they did in 2024, the tole it took to be that historic of a run first team and that physical. Then add years of tush push. I genuinely think having to be that historic run game/team and taxing on the OL to win that Super Bowl was always eventually going to catch up to them. Along with playoffs 5 straight years. They’ve played an extra 10 games over that span.

They also don’t have a consistent passing game. Really haven’t since Steichen left in 2022. But it really has been all over the place since end of 2023

Im still not seeing how Keenum in Chicago is relevant.

People thought this system simplified things for QBs enough that Hurts could succeed. But some of us were more analytical and recognized that the skills you DO still need to be successful in this offense, Hurts does not possess.

So Ben Johnson has a different system. Obviously he is having success with different styles of QBs. Goff went from a bust in LA to great for Detroit with Johnson. Then from Goff to Caleb Williams- drastically different players. And Williams to Keenum. Obviously Ben Johnson has identified the skills he needs in his QB and has those QBs who are capable of carrying out his vision on offense.

Sirianni never got to choose his starting QB. He has been stuck with Hurts for his entire HC career. Siri has had various different OCs and theyve all had to throw away their offense and dumb it down to a version Hurts was comfortable with. Which clearly no longer works in the league.

I've been wanting them to move on from him so my mind doesn't really count him lol

I never wanted Cam and Landon to get extensions. I was very vocal about that when those contract extensions happened

Because it doesn't matter what the system is, it's the ability for the coach to actually teach his system to the team.

They could run the freaking Wing T for all I care, just give me a competent coaching staff

I’d put it more on Howie. Not signing Milton, Dean and not keeping CJGJ was a HUGE mishap. Oh and drafting a TE in the second round who hasn’t even seen the field. Lets not even get into firing Stoutland and hiring the worst O line coach in the league and the Manion hire as well.

Another reason Nick is a bad coach. You fight to keep him except he correctly called you out and you let him go
