You have to be able to actually coach it for them to process quickly. These guys can't. Mannion is off to an embarrassing, Brian Johnson-esque start. Its looking like there's a reason he was 4th or 5th choice or whatever

0 coaches have ever been able to coach Hurts in to quick processing. You are wrong on that. You have it or you dont. Hurts does not.

Yeah I do, because it oversimplifies the issues with the offense. There's a reason why guys like Case Keenum can go to Chicago and have success in that offense and it's not because he's some underrated talent that flies under the radar.

The offense was built around Jalen's strengths. We have had 5 OCs, all adding their own components and the issues still persist. Sirianni's philosophy is to build around the team's strengths. If we built it around a different QB, we might see an entirely different offense. When we plug a typical QB into the Jalen Hurts offense, they are probably not going to look good either.

I think it is an important conversation. I like Jalen, his work ethic, and loved it when he used to actually run and keep defenses off balance. But he is telling us he needs to play better, the offense needs to execute better, etc... and he's the team leader, why is he still telling us this instead of going out there and doing it?

Good luck finding a quote from me saying this but I never said anything to that effect.

Expand on the Case Keenum in Chicago reference then.

@mattwill we might want to revisit and adjust the notion that the 2026 Eagles are improved at nearly every position.

Any update on injuries

I'm a few more losses away from rooting for draft position the rest of the way. This team has been ultra successful for the past decade, I'm fine sacrificing one year for the greater good. Team could look very different next season. Lane probably gone... Sirianni and Hurts could be gone, Baun and Barkley could be gone depending on what they decide to do there. Ojomo probably gone. What better way to reboot this thing than with high draft picks in every round in an expected loaded draft class?

Howie has shown he rebuilds quickly and well. This team isn't it this year. It's only 4 weeks but I think we all can see it. And I'm not surprised by it either. This is kinda what I expected except the defense is worse than I expected. I'll give it a few games to see if they can pull some magic from the hat, but if they still look like this through week 7 or 8 I'm rooting for losses the rest of the way.

Personally I'd like to see Hurts with a different HC and I'd like to see Sirianni with more a pure passer at QB.

Pretty sure they're gonna get split up after this season.

Imo i think sirianni is going to have the same thing happen that doug did. Go somewhere else and be mediocre.

If hurts isn’t going to be as mobile it really hurts him as a QB. It takes a dangerous element away. Frankly i think we are ultimately not going to have hurts or sirianni here in 2028.

Why is that the end all, be all? It's about scoring and winning and not just passing it really fast.

Design a decent offense and Hurts will succeed. Give him the answers to the test and don't let him flail around with free rushers and no one looking for the ball.

But the problem is that they don't know the answers. They can't really tell Hurts what to do in certain situations because they don't know themselves, they're getting out coached every week.

Do you think the league is just now discovering Hurts' weaknesses in the 2nd half of these games?

At this point of Hurts career you are not "teaching" him to be a different type of QB. He is what he is. Not to mention, a QB would have to have the open mindset to want to ok change his style. I don't see that in Hurts.

What offense???

The one where they can't block, can barely run, and have a bunch of random TEs running around the field?

This is the Hurts system??

It's funny. For once I'm not as down as others. We were 20-10 before stupidity lost us the game. Cooper stepped up big time and it was great to see. Hurts threw a bad ball and Cooper was amazing

Only other negatives were the injuries. Felt like the body bag game

What will actually happen is they will make a couple of incremental improvements, get to 8 or 9 wins, and blame the year on the early season injuries.

No real changes get made, both Hurts and Sirriani get another year. Except maybe Vic retires.

And we suck again in 2027.

I agree, I'm not trying to turn him into a quick read QB. He's not.

I'm talking about teaching him the ins and outs of a system and actually having the answers to what DCs are going to throw at him. They clearly don't. We see the same things every week and they have no answers at all

Mannion's system isn't good. His situational awareness isn't good. The personnel he chooses to use is head scratching. The way he uses his playmakers is head scratching. He continuously puts players in position to fail rather than succeed. Mannion is bad, Hurts is bad, Sirianni is bad. It all needs to go. Plain and simple.

lol sorry…I’ve held off for the better part of 2 years, ever since Howie started making weird moves and the offense subsequently has been a train wreck.

But I’m done. All of their equity has been used up.

Every win and loss is miserable to watch.

It is painful... Today, I was just waiting for the final shoe to drop... and it did.

Not to mention this team is now strapped with terrible contracts that are going to be hard to move on from and hinder this team from adding actual talent. Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Cam Jurgens, Landon Dickerson. Not to mention Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are Jags. Jury is still out on Greenard but that could be a bad contract as well. Jihaad Campbell is also a bum, mixed with we have no safeties or TEs currently because we have no clue what Stowers will become and Goedert is old and hurt. Holes everywhere. That's why they just need to go ahead and let go of Hurts as well when his contract is up and completely rebuild. Because giving Hurts another big extension will really set this team back.

Oh god that Tyquan Thornton injury was brutal. He didn't even know it until he tried to stand.

This is interesting, apparently on that 3rd and goal Cam’s hand hits the ball
