Well, this is why I was actually pretty interested in Kingsbury.

I know hes not the best coach but I thought he might have been the best for Hurts.

I was too.

Wrong.

Its not that Siri needs a specific player to run his offense. The true issue is that Hurts can not run anyone's offense.

I was hoping for Kliff Kingsbury, not because he has the best scheme - just that the shotgun spread air raid vertical passing would be a lifeline for Jalen. Perhaps KK could mix it up enough to make the offense passable without taking Hurts too far from his strengths… but the OL seems to be too far gone, and Jalen seems to think he’ll get a big extension as long he stays healthy.

Tbh i truly think they wanted mcdaniels. He choose chargers. I think their backup plan was daboll and thought they could get him. He choose titans and after that they were essentially taking fliers on everyone who was questionable.

Add Barkley to the list of guys I wouldn't care if we parted ways with. 2004 cooked him

Yea they better fire his pee-wee coach

Damn I guess we'll have to live with another SB appearance.

You guys act like it's some terrible thing to ask a coach to actually get the best out of the playera. That's why they're the coaches, it's literally their job.

Can you explain the first sentence?

That's what they are failing to see. The common denominator in all these "failed OC's" is the quarterback. You think something would eventually click and they would realize that "hmmm, maybe the quarterback is the issue."

Steichen and Moore failed so hard here they wound up getting hired as head coaches. A thoroughly tragic fate for them that could've been avoided had Hurts been a more capable QB!

Ball don’t lie.

I’ve actually had a hairline fracture of my wrist. Usually is better in about 4-5 weeks. However he’s playing with it so wouldn’t be surprised if it takes long.

Reality is i think the bigger issue is their drafts past two years have been bad. Campbell isn’t as good as they intended to replace Dean. Mukuba is up and down and has durability concerns. Stowers is useless this year. Lemon fits the offense but we can’t get him the ball consistently. The best draft picks of the last 2 years is likely Kendall and bell at the moment. Can’t let guys walk and not hit in picks or picks take too long to step up.

but isn't he hindering the healing while playing? I guess one of the docs we have on the board can chime in. Carter with his bad shoulders at least was productive at times. Carter with his club seems pretty bad. And I haven't heard Davis name in awhile. Has he done anything?

has been open though. They haven't used him well for majority of the time and I was highly against the pick. I wanted Oline

I was not happy with the Stowers pick. He could end up being good or great in the future but IMO we had bigger needs

Mental health is injured

Do we know or is that a guess?

I remember Brooks had mental health problems. God him and Lane were amazing though. I miss Brooks

Well ... T.O. was a bad influence.

I thought it was known we wanted McDaniels but he didn't want us?

Wasn't Monken also a favorite? He's surprisingly turned the Browns around

I was high on McDaniel too based on what he got out of Tua in Miami, but I might've been wrong there. The Chargers offense has been dogshit so far and Herbert is a far better QB than Tua, in theory at least. Never liked Daboll though, that dude milked one successful season and then relied on Allen to bail him out far too often.

The most concerning thing is that, 4 games in, the offense is not on an upward trajectory.

The narrative will change each week as we learn more….but so far the offense has been getting progressively worse.

So that makes it a lot easier to construct a narrative that they had a few lucky drives against 2 of the worst defense in the nfl and are otherwise a horrible offense.

Probably takes longer due to playing with it. However cast in theory should help prevent some more damage that could happen or guys on the other team purposefully trying to make it worse

Yeah i disliked the stowers pick. There were better tight ends who weren’t projects that actually fit this offense. I don’t think he necessary even fits the offense especially if he can’t block.

No clue what it is. It might be his parents health. I know he mentioned before the season he mentioned their health specifically about whether it was his last year or not

I thought Hurts was benched at halftime in the National Championship game Bama won?

Yes, you're lamenting that Mannion will actually have to consider that Jalen Hurts is his QB and do things that might actually make the offense successful.

Again, I don't care if it's the Wing T, I won't competent coaching. That's the most important thing.

At this point, it's far more likely that Mannion is totally in over his head and has no answers. That happens, it's the NFL. Coaches are getting outdone every single day.

We would be extremely lucky if he somehow changes it up and decides to actually fashion an offense that functions with Hurts at QB.

We've seen that happen. It's not an impossibility. Stop acting like there's only one way to win and Hurts can't do it.

IMO i wasn’t a mcdaniels guy. I pointed out the analytics/stats of his offense always took advantage of bad or Mediocre defenses. it was truly staggering the differential. Obviously going to have some drop off but his was massive. I was for daboll cause i thought he would be able to get most out of hurts as he helped develop Allen. However with how cam Ward looks, that might have also been a bust.

You did nothing to explain the first sentence. You think Hurts is taking them to the SB this year? I’m not sure what you were saying.

Yep, he couldn't pass at all. He wasn't even close to an NFL QB at that point.

I guess coaching does matter.

Yeah he wanted chargers job more than ours. But rumors they tried to get him. Ditto with daboll. Both chose elsewhere.

Monken was an option if he didn’t become a HC. Rumor was always if he didn’t get HC he was going to giants. Why giants they got Nagy after monken was hired

Put them all on IR. This season is over. Even if they win the division, one and done

My point was that it's not a bad thing for coaches to realize who they're coaching, and cater to that. When that happened previously, and the OC wasn't a moron, the team was extremely successful.

The Eagles could easily get to the SB this year with better coaching. The NFL largely blows. Most of these teams suck.

I thought Lane was "personal"

F Lane. White trash hillbilly f. Take your personal reasons, pack them up your v and get the f out of town

Howie just paid a rotational run stuffer $26M cuz he was good vibes and could keep Carter in line. Good move. And said MW you are trash. No offers.
