Hurts was objectively awesome that year. They should have won the SB

He played better in that SB then he did in LIX. He hasn't played well since they won it. New offense, I'm willing to give him time but it looks like complete sheet in the 2nd half. 3rd down is atrocious. I don't see him getting an extension this offseason if it continues to look bad

He’s played about 6 quarters with 2 injuries… 4 games into the season with zero production and one costly offsides.

Can only get better from here. But when injuries start to come in succession at that age, you worry.

I said the same thing i did with Malik Jackson. I’m always skeptical of a guy late 20s and has durability concerns and why a team is willing to move on.

I wish our dope front office staff had better skills at reading the room, Lane didn’t seem 100% at his PC in camp. Looked like a guy that sees things differently with life when life can get tough, whether it’s family or his own battle, he deserves the respect. But I am not surprised at all.

Go take another hit on your bong and then bring it to the right forum, in whichever order you prefer.

Haven't touched a bong in almost 30 years. But it's telling that you directed it at me and not the guy who brought it up in the first place.

got it so it’s all coaching. Even though they’ve consistently rotated the coach in charge of the offense and get the same contracted passing game with the only variable in the results being how dominant the OL and running game can be. All coaching.

And the only offensive coordinators who do the things you request and would make it alllll better….didnt want to come here and work with what we have.

Hmmm….

There are basically 3-4 main tenets of my view here:

  1. Hurts is obviously limited, but quite literally every QB on the planet save for 2-3 are limited in some fashion. Maybe Mahomes, Josh Allen are the exceptions--people may even argue that.

  2. Given the above, we should stick with Hurts until he is physically unable to perform, because he's one of the only QBs in the league who has proven he can do it and especially for this franchise, which does matter.

  3. When you look across the league, the proof is in the pudding for just now important coaching is. There is example after example. It is a massive variable. It is THE difference maker in the modern NFL with how far out of their way the league goes to establish parity. You absolutely must draft well and you absolutely must have great coaching to win.

  4. Nick is not a great coach. He's just not. He acts like an ass and doesn't have the talent to back it up.

Now that we’re a month in and know what this team is, f it, retire now Lane.

I don’t have the energy to do this with you all season.

There were red flags with that trade. He had missed 16 games in 4 years, 29, coming off a season ending injury, had to give up draft capital and give him an extension.

Greenard gets 50 mil guaranteed, and we let a 6’5” DE that we could use slip away for 60 mil guaranteed. Phillips is also two years younger….some of the stuff Howie has done just doesn’t make sense.

I'm not waffling on anything. You brought up Steichen and Moore. So I asked why their offenses were successful. You failed to answer any of the questions I asked. Because you know the answer but you don't want to admit it. I asked several questions and you ignored them all and steered the argument in the direction you want it to go without any of it pertaining to the discussion.

They had success because they're talented offensive minds while Johnson and Patullo aren't. Pretty straightforward and yet you seem intent on trying to overcomplicate it.

he looks exceptionally good. when he is on the field.

I agree with this. He actually made a tangible impact, all of a sudden Nolan Smith is producing. That's not a coincidence.

Ok I'll play along, if you were only referring to Brian Johnson and Patullo, then why did you put "failed OCs" in quotes like that? You weren't trying to imply they were actually good OCs that were only made to look worse precisely because of Hurts?

Brian Johnson I dont think was that bad, the defense that year was atrociously bad,

Nolan Smith isn’t so bad. Been telling you.

If Stout was still coach do you think Lane would power through? Or is this a possible red flag that Lane just doesn’t see any good from Kuper and is like F this.

I think this is mostly where Im at. Sirriani has to go.

However, Im not sure that any of the top coaching candidates would want to tie their fate to Hurts at this point.

We may get 2 retirements in next couple of weeks with LD & LJ. And Jurgens getting the axe. I am kinda rooting for that, so we can move forward and stop being in limbo. New era...

Josina Anderson is just punching the air she doesn’t have the sources BG does

He had no answers for the blitz. Moore did, and it was a massive turn around in that aspect in just one off-season. I posted a link earlier, but Hurts was 6th in passer rating when facing a blitz in '24. He was probably bottom 3 in the league the season prior.

No idea…but it feels like it’s just time to rip the bandaid.

This team is not winning anything meaningful this year.

Milton Williams - but Howie believed too much into that Dawg Mentality. Keep them Dawgs together

I agree. It’s kinda obvious at this point any OC that takes the job here is neutered because of one reason or another

Im not saying bj was great and they shouldn't have brought in Moore im just saying bj wasn't as bad and wasn't the biggest problem on that 2023 team as the defense was laughably bad that year

I was thinking about this earlier while contemplating my sports life and adulthood. And I think this might be our only hope of a 2024-type of turnaround.

Let the kids play. Everything will be OK. The sun will come up

Alshon is better friends with BG now

This is the most embarrassing stat I’ve ever seen

Injuries really took a toll on our o-line. Hard to see that coming. Dickerson and Jurgens were good players but injuries have really derailed their careers and made them basically unplayable. Going into next year they really need to replace Dickerson, Jurgens, Steen, and Johnson. And not to mention all the holes on the defense. Going to be hard to do. Window is definitely closed.

Not hard to see the Dickerson path. His entire college career was riddled with injuries. Frankly, that we got as much elite play from him as we did was the unpredictable part.where we are now... completely predictable. And Howie should have seen it coming (that's his job).. my guess is that he insured the crap out of that contract and maybe Jurgens' contract, too.
