And yet they took a lead with 12 seconds left and still lost...none of these mattered

The game was lost because the Eagles threw the ball on first down with 25 seconds left in the game. JAX lined up in zero blitz because they needed the Eagles to throw an incompletion and stop the clock. Hurts obliged them by blindly flinging a ball to the sidelines, which came about 3 inches away from being intercepted and ending the game right there.

That’s not coaching. That’s on the QB to read the formation and audible under center to run the RB into the LOS and keep the clock moving. If he gets stopped for no gain, who cares? You’re in FG range already. You need to run the clock to zero. JAX were NOT lined up to stop the run; their guys were standing in blitz formation to rush the QB.

You do that three times. JAX only had two timeouts, which means Sirianni uses his timeout with two seconds left to let Elliott kick a walk off FG for the win.

I think two things can be true. Hurts does not fit this offense. It does not do what he does well. So you’re not really using his strengths and maximizing his talent.

Aside from being his best version of himself in big games and big moments (which is abstract but absolutely NOT something to minimize), what exactly are Hurts’ strengths?

Vision? No

Anticipation? No

Arm strength? No

Quick release? No

Timing? No

Throwing into tight windows? No

Running? Not anymore.

Tush push? Not anymore.

Deep ball? Not anymore, not since at least 2024.

Clutch? Yes.

He objectively doesn’t do anything that well as a qb anymore.

second thing is, sirianni has no background in this offense. So he is essentially useless to Sean mannion and the assistant trying to run this particular offense and implement it. So you’re essentially asking a bunch of assistants (some who weren’t very good elsewhere) and a first year OC who’s also play calling for the first time to implement it and have it be functional.

Imo if they want to run this offense, I think you gotta get rid of sirianni and get a coach in here who has extensive background and experience in it. Also have to move on from Hurts for a quarterback that excels in that type of offense.

Yup Hurts isnt a WCO qb, hes just not and asking him to do so is and was as stupid as asking Randall Cunningham to be one back in 1995

Eagles are trying to square peg round hole hurts and when you take a square peg and put it together with a bunch of backups its going to be ugly.

As soon as Trotter was ejected that was an omen today that we weren't getting over that mountain today. Maybe that's the reason we lost. 😄

Yeah I definitely think Siri, Hurts, and Mannion are probably all on different pages. There’s no way things will work well that way.

Where I’m going to disagree is we’re just supposed to say by to Siri and Hurts for Mannion? After all the success Siri and Hurts have had over the years?

The offense has never been this bad even in 21 I think Greg Ward was still starting.

I don’t think mannion is staying either. I think you’re cleaning house outside of maybe the defense with fangio. Even that I’m not sure he sticks around

If the Eagles are truly intent on running this style of offense and this scheme, it doesn’t have to be with mannion, but it can’t be with sirianni or hurts. Both are not capable for different reasons

I’m just so over this era of eagles football. I’m over sirianni and wondering if it’s his offense or not, im over his brain dead decisions, I’m over the hurts discussions every week, I’m over the defense falling apart at the most inopportune times…idk what needs to happen, I just know I can’t wait for something to be different…

Well you have just shy of 3 months left till we're talking about who are new HC and QB will be

Who do you replace Hurts with then?

Hurts isn’t going anywhere. We’ll have him to at least start the 2027 season.

I wouldn't bet my mortgage payment on that if I were you

I have 5 posts before this blaming nick for the loss and this one does too.

Hurts didnt play well, im not sure any qb would with what hurts had out there and he still put them in a position to win and nick snatched it away

Read that however you want, dont café if you have a problem with me, if you have a problem with my post or opinion then we can discuss that.

Great. That's different than he was dog crap. He was good in the first and eh in the 2nd until he stuck them in a position to win.

It also doesn’t help his HC’s background is not in this system. So it’s not what he wants to do or his philosophy. Asking him to be a CEO HC and mannion to just implement the scheme/system while calling plays as a 1st year OC seems like it is destined to fail

What system fits hurts? Bec he ain’t a runner anymore either so what do we gotta do to get our qb to run a competent offense?

I think that’s what those 2028 draft picks are for. Can use them then or package them now. Hurts contract makes it really difficult to move on from him until after 2027.

How is it not on coaching when that is the play they wanted to run? Nick said he didn't want to lose yardage. It was almost picked that was stupid and should have been 10 yards into the stands, but again, that's what the coach called. You call it obliging them and want him to go rogue? That's not how it works. It once again goes back to Nick being the problem. Hurts not being great because it was almost picked but he shouldn't have been throwing.

Hurts and the offense are averaging 18 points per game ahead of 6 other teams. Build him a statue.

Yea but he's missing players so better make it clay or something

Seattles first play in second half is a int, 4 TOs so far 😬

Yes. He scored 14 in the 1st half. And they had a 14-10 lead with a few minutes left and 17-16 with 8 seconds left. Yep its Hurts' fault. He caused that whole demise by himself. And played all 22 positions at once that self destructed.

I know you Hurts guys are confused how football scoreboards work, but you are allowed to score more points in the 3rd and 4th quarter, even when you have a lead. They actually tally the points from all 4 of the quarters played, not just the first two.

Right now? No one. In the offseason? No one.

I just wouldn’t pay him a dollar more than he’s already owed, wouldn’t extend him, and would be as aggressive as possible in drafting a replacement in 2027 or 2028.

They’ve been awful. For whatever reason they refuse to try to get the ball to JSN

.After Goedert got the 1st down, it should have been 3 runs and run the clock out. Obviously he should have kicked it out for the end zone, I'm glad Nick took responsibility for that. They only had 8 secs, make Trevor have to do a hail Mary. I'm upset because the Eagles should have won this week and last week and be 4-1 right now, Damn. The only saving grace is the NFC BEAST is looking like the NFC LEAST so the Division is still in play, everyone playing like a hot mess right now. Boys lose to an 0-4 Tampa, Birds lose in last 8 seconds, GMen and Washington Tie. SMH,
