"Doing enough to win"

If we get this version of Carter, Trotter in next week. Then figure out safety. No sure answers there. They have tackling issues. Can they be passable like the past. Never had great safeties really. Their margin for error is so little. We went from being bullies 20 months ago to winning games mano a mano and whooping u. A different formula needed for thsi roster. Mote finesse now. And they haven't adjusted yet. Mentally or physically. That's a Sirianni adjustment which hasn't been made yet. He's gotta be better with this kind of team.

Carter left the game which hurt them at safety. Frankly it’s why I said you can’t trust epps or Carter to play 17 games. Neither one have shown that they can do it at the safety position in a while. It’s why I said I don’t like the fact that they’re just relying on Epps and Carter to be the guys and that’s gonna be the solution. They needed to get another starter alongside Makuba because those two guys are backups. They’re fine for a week or two weeks. But when you have to rely on them for 17 games, they’re not reliable. Both in health and performance.

issue to me is Campbell is a finesse linebacker. He just is. He also has poor instincts and bad against the run. Downgrade from Dean to him is massive so need trotter to step up. Safety is overall a disaster. Mukuba is also finesse. He might try to be physical but if he is then he gets run over or hurt. They also lack pass rush from the edges. Hunt is hurt. Smith hasn’t been the physical player since SB LIX. I’d add Jordan Davis makes appearances sporadically. He’s not consistent. Carter dealing with his injury but he’s been fine the last two weeks. They need to find another safety along side Mukuba and replace Campbell with trotter. That would help. However pass rush is a problem until hunt comes back and Greenard actually doesn’t get hurt every other series

I don’t think he’s cooked. I don’t think he’s peak 2024 Barkley either. Probably just a solid Rb. Which imo he’s still better than Shipley and Pierce.

Pierce yes, not sure on Shipley.

Barkley being a "solid running back" is cooked in my book.

Seems overhyped. Pass

If his last name wasn’t manning, i think more people would say that kid isn’t that good

Does Nick even have the authority to bench Hurts?

Probably not in practice on a Tuesday leading into a new game.

Mid game? He's still the head coach. No one can stop him. If it's not a successful change, that could be what gets him fired in-season (as I think Lurie has a strong affinity for Hurts).

Frankly, I think Shipley is a backup running back. I think Barkley could still be a starter in this league.

I needed today to see that Barkley is still a good RB....that was nasty. Thought we had some depth there. We don't. Would have been fun to see Steele get a crack. Shipley is not durable and should be exclusively a 3rd down guy.

"Jalen Hurts…” insert excuse

At this point I cant wait until the season is over.

Score in the second half? That’s not who we are.

@LeanMeanGM Did I do it right?

We'll agree to disagree.

I mean they only lost by one score so it was plenty.

I find it mild to moderately amusing that every time Lemon catches the football, there is a shower of posts saying "everyone who said he was a bust is an idiot." ....as if the guy has arrived as a successful first round pick because he just caught a first down.

First of all, no one has ever called a first year player a bust. It's not fair and indeterminable. Secondly, there are many of us that never liked him as a prospect well before he was drafted by the Eagles. Thirdly, if you fall into that camp, all we've seen is reinforcement of that notion. 5 rec for 43 yards today at an 8.6 yard clip. Positively a Greg Wardian impact. Now 15/108/0TD/7.2 ypc. Numbers that would make even many historical rough, doomed Eagles 1st and 2nd year WRs wince.

Barkley dances too much and goes down very easily. If he doesnt have elite OL play like he had for 1 year, hes just an average guy who people tremendously overrate based on size and combine testing.

OK and where is Shipley as a starter in this league? He just faced the number three run defense and had five carries for 6 yards with a long of three. No offense Shipley is not a starter. Barkley might be an average starter, but he’s still better than Shipley.

Hurts continues to kill his RAC opportunities. Today we got to see him turn up the field once. For the first time in his eagles career. He is a very exciting, dynamic player when he gets to run with the ball.

I didnt say anything about Shipley... You were talking to greend and I chimed in about Barkley.

Curious to see who Vic is more pissed with...Trott Jr. for getting tossed on the kickoff in his first game as a the true starting LB....or Campbell because he's disliked him and his reliability his entire tenure with the Eagles.

One of them has to start next week 🤣

And we were talking about how I said Barkley is still an upgrade over Shipley. And he told me he was cooked. And I said at least Barkley still a starter in this league whereas Shipley is not. So either way Barkley might be overrated, but he’s still an upgrade to what Shipley is.

To your point, he still had someone on his back when he turned upfield. He had one cut back against against a soft zone in garbage time a week or two ago. Aside from those little 1-2 yard blips, he hasn't run with the ball in his hands ever as an Eagle.

Them being worst in the NFL in so many offensive areas is what is going to get Sirianni fired more than a **** record will. There’s just no way Lurie is going to remotely find that acceptable. And they aren’t going to try the new OC again, so the head coach will take the fall. And all this isn’t even factoring in all the other issues like game management.

Well if the defense made a couple plays to help them out…it would probably look worse.
