I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Patriots going apesh--t

Trying to relive that Gronk-Hernandez magic.

For all in the Belichek has lost his mind crowd, Aaron Hernandez beast season was 2011, 79 catches.  Gronk had 90 catches that year, Welker had 122.  Unlike the Eagles, the Pats know how to run a 2 TE offense effectively.

They also had one of the best QBs of all time.

FYP... I know he is easy to hate, but facts are facts

The talent gap between Cam Newton and Tom Brady is about the same distance as the sun to Pluto.

The Patriots spending spree is fascinating.  It's the complete opposite of what they usually do.  They might sign one big ticket guy but they generally fill the team out with role players and then nail the draft.  I guess we now know that Tom Brady is the one that made that possible.

You also have to think there's a lot of smoke to the rumors they want one of the top quarterbacks in the draft.

Agreed.  But it is the same offensive coordinator, and I think it is a better match for Cam's skill set at this stage of his career.

Can we not refer to Miles Sanders as a pro-bowl RB?  He was added to a video game because people who played madden liked his avatar.  He wasn't voted in.  He didn't even back in as a back up.

He was voted in by fans.  The only difference is that it was done through the most popular NFL game app in history.

So 8-8 was the goal?  Have our standards dropped that much?  There was ZERO reason to think either DJack or Alshon would produce and not get re-injured.

If you don't sign Hargrave and trade for Slay you could have signed Robbie Anderson and James Bradberry while saving your 3rd and 5th round picks.  There's no reason to think that couldn't have actually happened because they had the money do do both.

Also, if you sign Robbie Anderson then you aren't forced to take a WR in round 1.

Aiming for 8-8 and getting excited about comp picks, geez is that the measuring stick?

So it's a slave market, you can get Anderson to sign here instead of with his college HC?

And imagine our DL last year without Hargrave. Malik after his injury was a shadow of himself. We played Cox too many snaps as it is. The defense would have been even worse, and it was pretty bad.

He had a combined 1,064 yards and 6 TDs last year (867 rushing, 197 receiving). Those aren't really "Pro Bowl" numbers. In fact they're quite pedestrian. You seem to be completely wowed by big splash plays. It would explain a lot about your roster building philosophy.

Money talks in the NFL.  Anderson very well could have wanted to play in the city he went to college.  You never know but the Eagles decided to spend money on a $200 million d-line.

My plan is to not pay top dollar to a RB. I thought I made that clear. Where did I ever say cut? You play him this year, play him next year, he walks as FA at 26, you get a comp pick when someone foolishly gives him big money.

I already clearly stated why the Eagles would likely extend him and if he plays at a near-pro bowl level, there's a very high chance they will.  We can continue this conversation sometime next year because like I said, it's way too early to even guess at this point.

The other thing is Bradberry isn't guaranteed to have performed as well here. Schwartz demolished CBs basically. Slay was good last year, outside of Metcalf/Adams.

And I've stated many times that Anderson was looking to reunite with Rhule. There's nothing to say he would have signed here unless they threw a lot more money at him.

For comparison, 8 RB's had more rushing yards than he had combined yards.  The list is to long to count for RB's that had more rushing TD's than he had combined TD's.

edited to add @TorontoEagle, if you take away 3 long plays, he only had 637 rushing yards.

*In 12 games

It would have been over 1500 yards and 9 TD's over a 16 game season.  And yes, big play/homerun hitting players should be part of any NFL team's roster.  Look at the KC Chiefs for example.

Chargers have two 3rd round picks and make a lot of sense for Ertz.

And why do you think that was? You think Howie is in love with DTs, or did his DC lobby for shoring up the DL as the top priority on defense?

If you're going to rebuild in 2020, they should have fired Doug after the 2019 season along with Schwartz and hired a HC to oversee the rebuild, like they did this off season.

Doug's skill set is not suited to a rebuilding team.

If you're trying to be competitive, you get the players your coaches think they need to win now.

The 2020 collapse was the best thing that happened to this team, it forced them to commit to the rebuild, dump the SB coaching staff, and move on, with great draft position.

Lol.....yeah that 12 games is a big issue with him and why RBs arent worth second contracts.

He has played in a total of 29 out of 33 possible games since entering the NFL.

And how many snaps has he missed? Do you think he could handle a full, 300 carry workload? Because if you're paying him over $10 million a year, you better be getting that kind of return. Hell, even 250 carries with about 30-40 receptions would be fine. Do you think he can stand up to that usage?

3 games his rookie season he had less than 10 combined touches, and several more with 15 or less touches

He's not that type of back.  200-220 carries, getting him over 1k yards rushing and another 40+ receptions for 500+ yards receiving plus another 8-10 TD's is what I expect him to do.  And yes, that type of production is well worth 10+ million per year.
