I'm not against the player, or the talent.  I am concerned about the long term with him.  I absolutely hope he proves me wrong 100%.   I am hopeful with this pick.  I would not have been hopeful with Paye.  So, I am not unhappy.  I am just not ecstatic.

You only need to worry about his first 5 years. That’s what his rookie contract is for. That’s the opportunity cost. Second contract is a different opportunity cost.

This will also take a lot of pressure off Reagor, and allow the other young WRs to develop at their own pace.

1. DJax did not do that.

2. DJax was even more polished coming out of college.  He had size and character concerns.  

Do some research...Smith was an amazing pick given the board.  I love it but you're so wrong on your recollection of things.  If Kolb wouldn't have made the dumbest decision I've ever seen as a QB ever, DJax wouldn't be regarded as injury prone.

Yeah his theory is ridiculous. So if a kid goes 97 and another is 102 then 102 isn’t valuable. So if he would’ve went 5 picks sooner he automatically is.

Now he needs to back peddle on his assertion that we didn’t have enough top 100 picks in years past. Now they aren’t important. 

So as it played out with picks 1-5. Would you rather:

 

they stayed at 6 and gotten either CB or

 

did what they did and got smith + a 1 next year - a ‘21 3rd?

Sadly, I like this Miami pick. He'll be very good short-term.

I'm just gonna post this again.    This guy is a Philadelphia Eagle.  The CB he beat badly (LSU #24) is Derek Stingley, who is gonna have his name called pretty soon.  Look at this catch, how he high points the ball, he's got 1 hand on the ball.  This is a crazy good catch.  Devonta Smith is an Eagle.
