Well, it offers the opportunity for the QB to have a basket to put it in... the QB then has to actually deliver the ball.   Mac Jones on a significant number of throws was late and made easy pitch and catches that should have been easy completions into contested catches, especially the long balls.   Not sure how much arm strength Jones has.  So glad he didn't get selected here.

I primarily want an IOL or DB at 37.

Edge rushers are already picked over.  Don't bother.

WR is done.

In the secondary, I want 5 guys that just excel in coverage.  Don't need to overinvest in chasing the enigma of a shutdown CB.  So #37 is a nice range to just add one of those five.

5 picks and there's more than 5 targets sitting there.   Even more than that if you count extra picks at positions like WR that the Eagles shouldn't be targeting here.

It's a safe bet that Hurts will be more accurate than Wentz on throws behind and just beyond the LOS.

It's the seam routes and anticipation throws farther downfield that will his challenge over the middle.

Well, our QB isn't as good as the guy Mac Jones is better than...

But our 3 first round picks next year will be invested in a QB, either by getting to the top of the draft or trading for a vet.

In the event that Hurts proves himself, then the firsts will go to completely revamping the defense.

By the trade value chart: pick 11 is 1250 points while 12 is 1200 points so basically take out the 5th and next years 4th and almost exactly  equal value. No reason not to be ok with that, actually saves them draft capital. 
 

Ok with Smith but not the trade up and yes I would way prefer the 20th pick and next years middling 1st to even Smith at 12

Kind of a nice 2nd round for me...

No players that I'm fixated on, several that I like at positions of need, so pretty good odds that we get one.

Much lower than usual risk of meltdown.

If Hurts is the guy, next year is a good time to start turning over DT and the right side of the OL.

I'm holding out hope that we have our OT's on the roster already (Dillard/Mailata).  If not, that's going to have to be a very high pick.

I also hope we can reduce our emphasis and investment in the DT position.  We don't need a first round pick on a mega contract and another FA on a mega contract at DT while the rest of the defense falls apart.  Hargrave is young and getting big money.  Cox's replacement should be a stout mid-round DT.  Replace Cox's impact by upgrading DE and improving pass coverage, not continuing to overinvest in DT.

I didn't realize his arms were so long. 

Not sure how long Pinkstons arms were or his wing span but that would be the closest comparison size wise except Pinkston was almost 6'3" at 168 lbs and smith is 6 ft 166 lbs.

Desean was around 168 lbs at combine but only 5'10" and also has 4.3 timed speed compared to Pinkstons 4.4 speed and smiths untimed 4.4 speed. 

I think smith is a good mix between Pinkston and Desean body type wise.

Not as tall as Pinkston not as fast as Desean.

Hopefully his production isn't in the middle of both and Instead he exceeds both.

Kinda disagree on DT.  I am OK investing a high pick at DT and getting impactful play on a rookie deal.  The second contract is the issue.

I don't know if they will be able to trade back and recoup a 3rd. Maybe Tennessee and get 53 and 85? Probably better to do a smaller trade back in the 2nd, pick up another 4 and then move back into the 3rd if someone you like is there.
