I believe that the Cowboys a) spent a few moments fuming when Surtain was picked, b) decided that they wanted to move down, c) had the offer from the Bears, but really didn't want to go down to #20, d) maybe even had an offer from the Pats to go down to #15, and e) were relieved to get a fair offer from Eagles to only go down two spots.

I think for the first time in draft history, for any given pick, the player that I’d like the eagles to draft and the player I think Howie wants are one and the same...baby Asante.

The 4 1st's is enticing.  Once the Turds picked Parsons the drafted entered the project territory.  I didn't watch enough of Newsome to have a solid opinion yay/nay for him.  The OL left were project tackles, DL I'm not impressed with in this draft and there was a bunch of overdrafts there IMO.  Farley is interesting, was he a 1 year wonder/will he being a walking injury at the NFL level.

 Also, I think this is the biggest reason why I think this way and the FO did what they did.  With all the chatter this off season/drama and all that, Howie had to do something.  Fans would have burned the complex down and I'm sure there is some degree of heat on him if he doesn't add something blue chip to the team.  He almost had to remove peoples ability to give the 'well if we had.....'

I think it's pretty clear now they targeted Smith from the beginning.  I wanted Horn, you wanted Surtain.  I think we both would have been happy with either at 6.  They extracted value out of the pick and got their target though.

Smith is teamed up once again with his former signal-caller at Alabama, Jalen Hurts. Smith had 12 career receptions, 207 receiving yards and two receiving TDs from Hurts during their two seasons together at Alabama.

As I just stated...I believe that the Cowboys may have taken the Chicago deal had we not made them an offer to only drop to #12.

So the hypothetical of us staying at #12 to take the Chicago offer wouldn't have been a possibility.

Agreed. An elite RB would be nice but this team has far greater needs. Can an elite RB transform this team in to a contender? No I don't think so.
