I hate to say it, but I don't think so.  They wanted Parsons, and they got Parsons plus an extra 3rd.  Not a bad move.  Had they made the trade with the Bears, they'd have likely missed out on Parsons.

Disagree.  I don't see Parsons as a transcendent player.

They could have dropped to twenty and taken Paye, Farley, or Darrisaw.  All needs.  And still walked away with an extra first.

Also, if they don't take Parsons, who would have?  Zona took Collins and WFT took Davis.  Assuming a domino effect, Davis would have been there for them at #20 as well.

First rounders are hard to come by.

The thing is they already have LVE and Smith at LB. Both high draft picks in the last few years. While Parsons is no doubt a great prospect, they probably won’t be able to keep all 3. 
 

IMO Slater would have been a much bigger impact player for them. He would have helped solidify their aging OL for a while.

I'm still not convinced they would do it though.  They missed out on CB and D line.  I think those are their priorities.

Smith has stunk since he got his new contract a couple years ago and LVE makes Desean Jackson look like Iron Man.

JOK would start on this team. He'd be safety #3. Gannon will use a 4-2-5. That's 3 CBs or Ss. Zimmer loved using 3 S packages. More and more teams are playing big nickle to get more speed on the field, but not get out-manned in the run game.

Put JOK in the box as a STAR/SAM and let him wreck things.

Smith is terrible and the rumors are they might not be picking up LVE's 5th year option. I don't agree with the pick necessarily and think they invest way too much into LB but that core might be there for only a year or so.
