I'm with you, I like Williams much better than a pure run stuffer at DT or a slot corner. Supposedly the Eagles plan to do a lot more bitzes with inside backers and stunts with the DL. Williams is a much better fit. Donahoe and everyone making a big deal out of nothing can go F themselves.

I did not compare him to Orlando Brown...I just wondered if AR thought he could turn Orlando Brown into Tra Thomas on the basis of that frame.

Tra was an elite pass protector with a huge frame who was not a productive run blocker and also wasn't necessarily a perfect athlete.  But he used that frame to be one of the best pass protectors in the NFL for a very long time.

And Jackson is a comp simply because he was on the same line and was another guy with a huge frame who was still disproportionately better in pass protection.

Tra is under-appreciated around here and I'm usually the first to say it.

Why on earth would the Eagles accept a deferred penalty for more picks in a year when they already started with the most picks in the NFL when they can wait and have no penalty? It makes zero sense.

The exact same mindset in round 2.  We all have our own visions as to what a draft should bring back.  I've stated my case plenty.  I hate taking risks in round 2 and 3, especially round 2.  Howie has shown how much he loves to gamble in round 2 rather than taking more sure things.

Another question:  Why would Howie trade back from 70 to 73 for just a 6th round pick when we already had the most picks in the NFL and potentially miss out on a higher rated player?  The world may never know.

Round 2 was a risk and I didn't like it either. There was nothing riskier about Williams than the average 3rd pick though. Brugler had him 70, Zierlein had him as a 2nd/3rd round pick, PFF had him 73rd.

Because Howie thinks he can draft the next Tom Brady in the 6th round. We are going 4 QBs with all 6th round picks we have. I mean what can go wrong with that???

I'm not complaining about Milton Williams.  Just making a statement that it's still Howie's show and it doesn't matter what coaching staff is here.  That alone is depressing.

Higher rated?

They were most likely similarly rated players.  Especially at that point of the draft.  There is no real slope left in the talent curve.
