I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Let's have some fun in here today...

Favorite draft pick? DeVonta Smith - It would have been cool if we stayed at six, drafted him, and them him wearing 6.

Best value? Gainwell - Will be the best player at the mini camp, because that's what shifty RBs do.

Favoriete UDF?  Not signed yet - Keeping my powder dry.

Kelvin Joseph might be talented, but he’s apparently a moron and was told to go away by two different SEC programs.

Wrong.

I don't know how true the rumors are, but it has been suggested that Rapoport has been used for spin control in the past.

I agree with you, the timing of this comment is just a little too convenient following the reporting over the weekend that Rodgers wants Gutekunst gone.

These national media guys 100 percent get used for that. They’re more "access journalists” than true journalists.

Is Reagor still WR1?

Anyone know if there is a list of the unsigned players who were not drafted ??

Here's a list of who signed and a list of who WAS available.  Really interesting to see that Dylan Moses is already on the Non-Football Injury List with the Jags.

I thought for sure the Eagles would have tried to get Charles Snowden and Paddy Fisher in here.  They really seem to be set on this group of LBs they have.

Shouldn't players who don't want to work out with their teammate because it isn't safe not be posting videos of themselves working out together?  I know it's just 2 guys but just not a good look if you ask me.

Does every single thing Reagor does have to be relentlessly criticized for F sake

I'm not criticizing Reagor at all.  It's a question I ask about any players working out together.  It's something I just can't wrap my head around.  I'd be asking the same thing if it was Fletcher Cox hosting the d-line at his ranch or Lane Johnson having the o-line at his home workout facitliy.

Imagine how people would respond if Reagor said he didn’t want to work out with Hurts outdoors because it isn’t safe.

Thanks.  Was hoping to find a current list of the still unsigned players.

I hope this guy makes the Cowboys roster.  Will be great to see him running around with Eagles on his jersey.

They’re outdoors. Maybe they’re both vaccinated? Maybe they took separate cars?

How is it unsafe?

I'm not saying it's unsafe.   That's not the issue at all.  Why I question it is because the players don't want to to attend in person workouts at team facilities right? They claim it's unsafe.

An NFL facility is probably one of, if not the safest places to be considering the lengths they go to either A. make sure players are vaccinated and B. the testing and safety protocols they would take to have players together.

I'm NOT mad they are working out together, I'm happy to see it.  I just don't understand the players arguments to not do it as a team.

I get it, not the issue.  See above post.

That's it.  It's just two guys outside.  If they are vaccinated, even better.

Not 90 guys in meeting rooms.

I know, I get that.  I'm just looking at things in the big picture.  I've been watching UD in the FCS playoffs.  They've been using 9-11 different rooms to prepare for games.  Positional groups getting dressed in separate rooms and such.  They were down in Alabama yesterday, South Dakota next week.  The FCS playoffs are going on without a hitch (knock on wood).

I just don't understand why NFL players think they are in any more danger at a team facility where everything is controlled. Don't need all 90 guys together but 7-9 WR in a room spread out doesn't seem bad?

Because this is just two guys, outside, where transmission is incredibly difficult. You're talking about being inside, for long periods of time, with considerably more people. Thus a higher chance of spread.

I think AR set our philosophy, then he went south with his son's death, and Lowie lost their way with Chip and Doug. Chip was an egomaniac and Doug wasn't much of an administrator.

One reason I think they chose Sirianni is Lurie saw many of the qualities he liked in AR, the "binder," etc. People harp on Siri's bad image, but ignore the good job he did in putting a coaching staff together, which tells me he's been preparing to be a HC (i.e., had worked out his list of people he wants, including options B & C).

And I think we saw that with this draft, from all reports the scouts and coaches were on the same page, Howie had confidence in his draft board, probably because all the arguments had been hashed out ahead of time.

Now the question I have is whether Lowie had their doubts about Wentz, not just as a player but as a leader, before the 2020 draft. Because Hurts may or may not be the future QB, but he has the intangibles to set the tone for a young team (and has shown he'll gracefully accept a demotion if he's beat out, after fighting tooth and nail to keep his job). Add Smith and Dickerson and you have the kind of core players that help you integrate a lot of young players.

So first off, you know my great admiration for Andy Reid.   In my view Andy was the greatest Eagles Head Coach of all time (no disrespect to Dick Vermeil or to a lesser extent Buddy Ryan).   Andy's Coaching Tree legacy now matches, possibly even exceeds that of Bill Walsh.

So I don't disagree with you in principle so much, but maybe in degree.

But even Andy's draft strategy changed from the beginning to the end.  Remember how different the drafts were early on under Tom Modrak?   Yes, it all started to fall apart late in Andy's tenure, but I would argue the bigger impact than losing his son was with he lost Jim Johnson and he genuinely floundered multiple times trying to find a replacement.  This flip flopping around was compounded by being around the same time Donovan McNabb was aging out at QB and Reid was trying to find his replacement QB as well.

**************************************************

You could almost put the Eagles draft strategy under Andy Reid into 3 Phases...

- Phase I - 1999-2001 - Still figuring it out (under Tom Modrak)

Fortunately for Andy Reid, he had Ray Rhodes previous drafts to cover over a pretty terrible Phase I (excepting of course Donovan McNabb)

- Phase II - 2002-2009 - I am doing it my way

Decent effort overall

- Phase III - 2010-2011 - Screw BPA, let's throw darts blindfolded and draft to fill holes in the roster

Thank goodness Brandon Graham worked out and thank goodness Howard Mudd loved Jason Kelce from his personal workout of him and demanded him in the later rounds.

****************************************************

So even with my great respect for Andy Reid, no I don't put him anywhere near the level of consistency demonstrated by the Raven / Steelers over the past 25 years.

Ray Rhodes might not have been a great Head Coach, but he could identify talent and spotted Andy Reid a very talented group of young core players for Andy to build around.

***************************************************

I will say that I like what Andy Reid and Brett Veach have been doing in KC.

His argument is about perception and not reality.

And if one of these two guys has it and spreads it to the other, you've knocked out two people.  If a position group is meeting inside and one of the guys have it, not only is the risk of transmission higher, but the result is worse - you could knock out an entire position group.

Some of you need some more coffee this morning...

Yea, I get that it's 2 guys.  I just think the NFL and teams are MORE than capable to make sure their players are safe.  There are meeting rooms for each position at NovaCare.  Don't need to have all 90 guys in one room.

Get on the field together and be outside where coaches can continue to wear a mask if they feel the need.

Your mistake is assuming boycotting the OTA's is about the pandemic
