Dude. Calhoun died 170 years ago. I didn't think I was being controversial.

Ignore him. Your insights about history are always welcome.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I know Baldy and hyperbole, but I enjoyed this... :D

They should keep track of pancakes, 'cause there's gonna be a heck of a contest between Dickerson and Mailata.

Both do things few other humans can do, like use a DL as a bowling ball.

Watching some Trask , and boy does Toney stand out , electric

Bad advice from the union.   They aren't looking out for the individual needs of the rookies, but only about their own best interest, aka, the best interest of the vested veterans, not the bubble players, that may not be vested yet, that are likely in need of any advantage that they can find to stick on the roster.  Shameful.

As a member of a union myself, it has always been the position of our union that any and all 'union' actions were carried out only by the vested members, not the more vulnerable ones.   Poor leadership.   There's solidarity and then there's sacrificing the most vulnerable.

It's why I believe in worker rights and safety nets, but not unions. Unions are essentially labor monopolies, they're needed only b/c government doesn't protect workers.

Employers have transaction cost and information asymmetry advantages when negotiating with workers (why do you think companies try to prevent workers from revealing their salaries, so they can price discriminate), and are often monopsony hirers (the only game in town, but workers just can't get up and leave as easily as capital).

It's funny that the same conservatives who champion free markets decry the breakdown of society - well, the primary force breaking social ties is the movement of capital and thus jobs, giving many people the Hobson's choice of staying where they have family and built up social capital or make a decent living - and we wonder why people are alienated - after you move a couple times for your career, you often find yourself isolated as family and friends are scattered over thousands of miles.

Unions are "democratic" but the majority have long tenure, the marginal players come and go, so they're dominated by veterans who look after their own self-interest.

I own a Pit Boss.   Amen.   Why am I cheating?  Because I wanted to get good food right away without all the fire errors.  My situation was one where I need to be able to 'set it and forget it' at times.  I prefer to focus on the meat and the sides, not the fire.

Wise, thou art.

Giving them that great GM feeling-with genuine GM departs.

"mention analytics to me & I'll tear you limb from limb."

Actually the Eagles have had a number of personnel people hired away the last few years - it's when they don't want to hire your people you have serious issues.

GM Factory

They all look for jobs elsewhere because Howie doesn't listen to anyone but Lurie.

He's interviewing for a potential promotion.  I understand that is unlikely to be a concept with which you have personal experience.

You clowns are incredibly wrong. People WANT to come here.

Consider: In the last two years Douglas, Berry and now, perhaps Cunningham have been hired away. Clearly other folks see that we hire talent. Not you, though.

Adding you to my list of the clueless here. Bias much?

I was just posting that Cunningham hadn't been hired yet.   lol  But, its possible he will be.

But, truthfully, I have my fair share of stupid moments too.
