I’d probably buy the Eagles, find a GM to wear a flame suit, and then meddle the crap out of the team.

Make me your GM.  I've always wanted to wear a flame suit.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If I had a dollar for every pound that players well known for being vastly over or underweight were said to have lost or gained in the offseason, I could probably buy a controlling interest in the Eagles.

I'm guessing 30 pounds is an exaggeration but I don't think it's impossible.  He was really sloppy.  He could have just had a poor college diet and focused on the wrong things.

If he can transform his body I think 100% he can be a starting guard.

Probably should also make one of those rage rooms the Flyers have when things don’t go well.

a chance tonight all 3 philly teams could win. Phils up 4-1 (still gotta deal with defense and the bullpen), Flyers up 4-0 and sixers at Chicago

The law of thermodynamics applies to everyone, DeVonta can gain weight. That said, I don't think it's even necessary

I don't think he's starting material, JMO.  Great pickup for a UDFA, really nice backup and spot starter, yes and yes.  If he becomes a real starter, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

It was such a long season it's easy to forget that he started the season when Brooks went down.  He had some very good moments mixed in with some terrible ones.  Just like Travis Fulgham, I think if you show you can dominate and be a good player it's just up to that player and the coaches to keep it consistent.  Both showed they can play and start in this league.  Next step is on them.  Stoutland is the right coach to get the best out of him too.  High hopes on my end but I'm trying to salvage some of the guys on this team.

I've lost 23 lbs in the last 2 months.   I've done it mostly with just diet and adding a bit of exercise - without a nutrition expert, private gym or personal trainer.

His ceiling is limited, imo.   I see him as a good backup, but should not be counted on as a starter.  He still has a chance to prove me wrong.

Well generally they gain 20lbs of muscle.  So in this case I hope Herbig lost 50lbs of fat and gained 20lbs of muscle.

Yes and people also have different metabolisms and burn calories at different rates and react to different foods differently.. If it were as simple as the law of thermodynamics then professional training staffs wouldn't have had trouble packing weight on shawn bradley.

There's also a difference between good weight and bad weight, it's easier to gain 5 pounds of fat than 5 pounds of muscle.

Hopefully devonta can put on some good weight though I doubt it will be much, the Alabama coaches talked about how they tried and tried to pack weight on devonta and they just stopped trying because it wasn't working so I doubt all the sudden a different training staff is going to have a magic pill to help devonta put on the lbs.

Pinkston was drafted at 168 and when left was around 175, in 5 years he gained 7 pounds and it's not like he wasn't trying and didn't have the best nutritionists and training guys that don't know about thermodynamics.

I doubt devonta gains much weight maybe 5 pounds here and there but really I don't think it's a big deal, like the coaches say, he has functional strength.

As for fatties like Herbig losing weight we'll see, if he can drop some baby fat and build some muscle it could help him be more effective.

I cannot believe we are 2 days beyond the conclusion of the draft and no one has taken a stab at a depth chart.  Here's my take...and the depth chart is more critical than the back of the roster decisions here.  This isn't what I think they'd do; it's what I'd do.  It's also not an attempt to make the most competitive roster possible for 2021; it's an attempt at pouring the right foundation.

QB: Hurts, Flacco, Newman (3)...probably need 3 QB's with Hurts playing like a RB and Flacco being 50.

WR: 1. Smith (X/Z/slot) 2. Reagor (X/Z/slot) 3. Watkins (Z/slot) 4. Ward (slot). 5. Fulgham (X/slot) 6. Grimes (X) (6)

RB: 1. Sanders 2. Gainwell. 3. Scott. 4. Huntley.  (4)

TE: Goedert, Butler, Someone who can line up in the right spot and block (3)

OT: Dillard (LT) Johnson (RT) Mailata (RT by week 8), Driscoll (OT/OG), Pryor (OT/OG) (5)

OG: Seumalo (LG), Brooks (RG), Herbig (3)

Center: Kelce, Dickerson (2)

DE: 1. Graham. 2. Sweat. 3. Barnett. 4. Williams. 5. Jackson (5)

DT: 1. Cox. 2. Hargrave. 3. Williams (yes, here too).  4. Tuipulotu. 5. Ridgeway (4)

LB: Top 3: Wilson, Taylor (fish or cut bait), Stevens.  Depth: Bradley, Singleton, Avery (6)

CB: Outside: Slay, McPhearson (buckle up). Nickel: Maddox (would really like to see him get some reps at S...he never looked better than playing safety as a rookie). Depth: Jacquet, James. (5)

S: Mcleod, Harris, Wallace, Adams. (4)

K: Elliott (1)

P: Someone (1)

LS: Lovato (1)

Watching some Gainwell, and he caught more back shoulder passes in his lone season at Memphis than all of our WRs combined last year.

Wrong.

I liked McPhearson  a lot more than I liked Joseph.

Playing time, he wasn't getting on the field.  He left to get a chance to put some reps on tape.

Joseph is fairly easy to dislike, apparently.

Few OL questions:

*Do you think Herbig, after reportedly losing  30+ lbs in the offseason, could have a chance to compete for starting LG position allowing Semualo to move to C? Especially if Dickerson projects better to RG

**What about Driscoll? After watching tape of him at various spots on the OL, still not sure where he best fits.

To the first, I have to wait and see. To the second, I see a swing player, competent most places but dominant nowhere.

How many of our WRs last year make this play?

So smooth.

Lol pretty funny cause Kyle shanahan when asked if Jimmy g would be on the team he said he couldn’t guarantee who would be alive on Sunday so he couldn’t guaranteee Jimmy g would be on the roster on Sunday

Yep, it's pretty sad that a RB comes in and is instantly better at catching the ball than any WR on the team.

He's not better than Smith.

RB: 1. Sanders 2. Gainwell. 3. Scott. 4. Huntley.  Rookie/vet (4)   I think either another veteran or rookie after cuts will be added.  Huntley didn't show anything.

TE: Goedert, Butler, Someone who can line up in the right spot and block (3) Ertz. Howie overplayed his cards, I think older vets can salvage relationship.

OT: Dillard  Mailata(LT) Johnson (RT) Mailata (RT by week ) Dillard, Driscoll (OT/OG), Pryor  Toth(OT/OG) (5) I'm team Mailata, hope Dillard can be swing, they really like Toth.

OG: Seumalo (LG), Brooks (RG), Herbig  (3) Not sure if Brooks is traded or Seumalo demoted but Dickerson is a starting guard by week 4.

Center: Kelce, Dickerson (2)

DE: 1. Graham. 2. Sweat. 3. Barnett. 4. Williams. 5. Jackson (5)

CB: Outside: Slay, McPhearson (buckle up). Nickel: Maddox (would really like to see him get some reps at S...he never looked better than playing safety as a rookie). Depth: Jacquet, James. (5)

- I can see them carrying 2 QBs with Newman on the PS to open a roster spot up.

-Roster spot could be used on a veteran CB.

-One of the best things about Milton Williams is that he can play both DT and DE.  Hopefully this staff is better at valuing roster spots.  His versatility could save a spot that could add depth somewhere else.
