Grilling is burgers, brats, dogs and sometimes steaks.  I’d much prefer to broil or pan sear a steak then just grill.  But that’s just me.

I’ve been slacking as of late.  I’ll step my culinary game up and share with my fans.  I do want to make smoked pork belly this year.

Slide into my PM's with prep/methods when you do!  I'm trying to learn all I can at this point.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Looks like you are enjoying the ribs of your labors.   Well done.

What rub are you using?

I used the Traeger pork rub (added some other random spices) on the front end.  Mixed some cayenne with the spicy Texas sauce for the last 30 mins.

I did a leg of lamb the other day.  Lemme find the pic.

I own a Traeger...so I basically cheat.  Minimal effort outside of prep lol.

I own a Pit Boss.   Amen.   Why am I cheating?  Because I wanted to get good food right away without all the fire errors.  My situation was one where I need to be able to 'set it and forget it' at times.  I prefer to focus on the meat and the sides, not the fire.

I could watch videos like this all day long.

@Outlaw thoughts on the 2022 QB class.  Looks like it is deeper, but no WOW prospects at the top, and they are all midgets.

I think Howell, Nix and Rattler will be your top 3.  I like Nix. This is obviously a huge year for all of them to prove themselves.

What are the odds Howie was the one hung up on?

Very nice.   I just did a leg of lamb as well.   Turned out wonderful!     I deboned it myself.

I forgot to add I mustard rub just about everything.  I found this amazing Sierra Nevada spicy brown porter mustard I'm addicted to using right now.

You know which ones get me?  Military family reunions.  Holy ish.

The family reunions, or when their dog gets to greet them coming home??

St Louis?   They look great.

Yup...I made a terrible mistake getting sucked into this grocery store out here in the Springs that had some catchy thing about fresh meat.  It was the most hippy disgusting place I've ever been.  That 1/3 rack was quite good all things considered.  Gonna transfer that experiment over to a full rack here soon.

You chunk and cook it?  Lamb is my specialty.  I've been off the past week or some change, first time in over a year being able to take off.  So I've been out in the snow and rain grilling and smoking just about every day.

Bad advice from the union.   They aren't looking out for the individual needs of the rookies, but only about their own best interest, aka, the best interest of the vested veterans, not the bubble players, that may not be vested yet, that are likely in need of any advantage that they can find to stick on the roster.  Shameful.

As a member of a union myself, it has always been the position of our union that any and all 'union' actions were carried out only by the vested members, not the more vulnerable ones.   Poor leadership.   There's solidarity and then there's sacrificing the most vulnerable.

I think that's speculation on your part.  There are plenty of times that rookies look good early in camp or much better than veterans initially.  Rookies are also generally advantaged by their cost vs. veteran players.  I don't think there is any evidence that this will make it more likely for a team to keep a veteran over a rookie.  Your premise that rookies somehow have too much to learn to play well earlier in camp does not seem to be supported by any evidence.

Moreover, I think your analysis about not protecting the weak is poor in this circumstance.  The opportunities to make a team are finite.  It's not like practicing more makes for more roster spots.  So I am unsure how you could say they are favoring one group over another when the lack of opportunity does not create any additional job opportunities. It probably is a better argument to suggest the risk of injury in practice outweighs the loss of opportunity for both rookies and vested veterans.

I cut off the shank, deboned the rest, and rolled it into a roast and tied... and smoked both... the shank came off first, obviously.

We say this every year…there will be 2-3 guys that set themselves apart. Probably Rattler and Howell. I have my eye on Tyler Schough from Oregon as well.

Maybe I could switch to lamb. I been asked to stop eat pork. Conviction makes me cry.

It's about more than the draft pick rookies, too.   It's about all the fringe players, the UDFAs, the futures contract players, etc..  Until you have 4 years, you don't have any retirement benefits.

The fringe players, the younger players need to work on their craft.   So, yes, it hurts those that are on the fringe, because they lose reps to get better at their positions, a chance to make a name for themselves (like the UDFAs).   And no, there's not a greater number of roster spots by practicing more, but that's actually part of it.  It is precisely because there's a finite number of roster spots, any advantage that gives to either player would be an unfair one.

You read in to my statement.  I never said they had too much to learn to play earlier in camp.  Practice is what helps the players get better.  Working with the coaches benefits all players, but benefits the fringe players to show that maybe they are not fringe.

Injury in OTAs?   How often do players get injured in OTAs, versus just injured working out?  Come on now.. that's silly.   There's no hitting in OTAs.  These are non-contact drills.

The NFLPA telling UDFAs not to go to camp is flat out negligence.  It's just vets self-serving bullying the young guys because they don't want to work

Both but mostly the family ones.

I usually go with baby backs.  More expensive. But less trash on the rib.

That's what I went with with this most recent rack I just bought the other day.
