Jets ? I like the draft picks they have been choosing , but we have no clue if their rookie HC can be a good HC , personally I didn’t like the hire

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

We don’t know if any draft this year is monster , give it 3 years . I like Wilson , but if he isn’t a stud , this draft is a flop .

No he's not

If Waddle wasnt hurt he doesnt win the Heisman. If he doesnt win the Heisman he's probably going to go in the  late teens, early 20;s.

He's closer to being the 4th wide receiver in the draft then he was the 2nd. That's not a blue chipper.

Smith had 50 catches for 698 yards playing with Waddle.

That’s an average of 139.6 yards a game. If we take the other 8 games and average it he would have totaled 1814 yards. He had 1856 without Waddle. 42 yards.

With Waddle all season he would have averaged out to 130 catches. He only got 117 without him.

Touchdowns with Waddle would be 16. He got 23 without him.

Those are blue chip numbers with or without him.

If we fix the OLine, everyone else looks better. The receivers, QB, coaches, and GM. The defense gets better because the offense stays on the field longer, fewer 3 and outs. The defense needs to improve to make some stops and get off the field, otherwise, we’re in a shootout every game.

Joe Douglas had a monster draft last year and I think he had a very good draft this year.

They pick up 3-4 wins by just getting rid of Gase.

Plus I think the Eagles will be that bad

Joe Douglas came with a high credential from his years at the Ravens.  His time with the Eagles was not touted a lot or as highly.  Now with the Jets, he shines again as a good talent evaluator.  That begs the question what limited his contributions when he was with the team.

I think you know the answer already

There've been 2 constants with the Eagles.  This picture always made me laugh because DP always looked like he was trying so hard to touch the jersey.  He doesn't matter at all.   It's the owner and his prized pupil showing off their new toy.

Carson Wentz, Howie Roseman, Jeffrey Lurie, Doug Pedreson

Yes, With a 1st round pick at QB, a 1st round pick at WR, a first round pick at RB, the best OL in the country he looked amazing.

In my opinion, the 3rd best isnt a blue chipper.

You realize that none of those are what makes his route running, hands, etc great...yes? Watch the film. Knock on him has nothing to do with his talent, it's his potential durability at 166 pounds.

Fat old guy I should say

I'm getting older, but getting skinnier.  And I just made a bet with a colleague that I could lose 11 more pounds in the next 23 days.  It was mostly a way to motivate her, but means losing at twice my current rate.  Down 24 lbs since beginning of March.   So, I need to push this into overdrive now.   But it might be the push I need to hit my target weight by the end of June.

Fixing the OL includes getting younger and healthier.   The Eagles made no move that could meet both of those qualifications.

Good for you bro, keep it up!

I don't think that's unhealthy.

Zero Chance. Fixed O-line you still have one of the harder schedules in the league, and the 24th ranked defense.

I said this before, I like the Jets, and where theyre headed. WOULD NOT BE SHOCKED if the streak is over

Eagles have the easiest schedule in the entire league in 2021

Well,  if the Waddle argument is disproven maybe he will change it and try saying that Smith only won the Heisman because of Metchie.

I think both him and Howie took away the same lesson from Douglas's time here.  The very next draft,  for separate teams they both suddenly started drafting athletes.

However,  with Newsome gone,  there is a reason why the supposedly highly regarded Douglas was allowed to leave Baltimore. There,  and here,  he sucked.

Remains to be seen if he still sucks. But he might have learned. He might even have learned quite a bit from Howie.

This article about Dickerson is as interesting as it is frustrating to read.

This made me laugh harder than it should have.  This Dr. must have no idea about the Eagles:

The good news there is that will be addressed with a professional medical and training staff, according to Flynn.

"Hopefully now that he's getting in with an NFL training staff and really knows his body a little bit better after going through all these injuries it's something he can turn around in the pros," she speculated.

Then you have this from Howie:

"We want to take chances"

"We know it’s a risk," said Roseman on drafting Dickerson, "but we think it’s a risk worth taking."

So here's where I want to punch Howie in the face.  Not to revisit the JJAW over DK pick but if they want to take chances, if there ever was a player you take a chance on it's DK.  I'm still more bothered by taking JJAW than passing on DK.  I've said it time and time again on here, I don't believe then 2nd round is where you take chances on players.  Round 2 you should be finding fringe 1st round talent that can step in and play right away or at least be a heavy contributor  Dickerson may very well do that but again, it's an unnecessary risk and a continued trend of Howie's drafting style.  Ignore the more sure thing players in then 2nd round and use the 2nd round as a complete lottery ticket.  Howie throws away 2nd round picks like they are 7th round comp picks.  It's maddening.

First, lots of people are really lauding the Dickerson pick.  I've heard him called the best IOL in the draft.  If this guy was fully healthy he likely would have gone in the first, maybe has high as mid-first round.  If he rehabs fully, and there's no reason to think that he shouldn't, then we Dickerson helps our OL look much better.

On, JJAW, I said this in the other thread, but Doug / Carson is to blame for JJAW's lack of production.  Doug's schemes were not well suited for JJAW's ability.  JJAW's strength should be making tight and contested catches.  Carson doesn't throw those balls, he's too busy trying to play hero ball and launching the bomb.  Siri's schemes are going to be better for JJAW, and I think he will have a breakout year for us.

Based on 2020's numbers yes.

But That didnt include Daks(who we all hate but the cowboys will be an 11 win team with him) Herbert now in his 2nd year. Jets had Gase. We should of lost one to the giants and the Saints game was against a back up and pure luck

Like I guess im being a hater, or too much of a realist, this is a 5 win team

Lol, they were 1-3 in games he finished last year. Their defense is still horrible.

Using 2020 records. Yes.
Using 2021 records. Likely no. We just don't know who is going to be good yet. The AFC West looks amazing.

I like Dickerson a lot.  What I don't like is the way Howie uses his 2nd round picks.

Look at the Chiefs and Trey Smith.  They got him in the 6th round.  IMO, that's where you take risks.  You take a guy like Jordan Mailata in the 7th.

It will be interesting to see how the careers of Landon Dickerson (37), Josh Myers (63), Creed Humphrey (64) Wyatt Davis (86), Quinn Meinerz (98) and Trey Smith (226) among others compare.  I'm comparing him with OG and C.   Meinerz is a guy I would have loved in round 3.  He's the same kind of guy that Dickerson is.

IF Dickerson is healthy, he should be the best of the bunch by a long shot.  Again, he's a foundational, culture building piece to the puzzle.

You just have to wonder if you could have taken a guy like Moehring to help the back 7, which is in shambles and then taken a guy like Humphry or Davis later on.

Legit question,

If you could trade Alabama's training medical staff for the Eagles staff tomorrow, would you do it.

Does the article writer not realize that Bama has better facilities and team Doctors than a lot of professional teams?

Blame the author and the Dr. interviewed for not knowing these things.  I would trade the Eagles medical and strength/conditioning staff for most Power 5 staffs!

Id trade them for a group of people that stayed at a holiday inn Express last night.

Where are we on OLine injuries: Brooks, Lane, Kelce? Everyone ready for training camp? Season opener?

Where are we at having a legit starting 5 OLinemen? Dillard, Mailata, Driscoll, Seumalo...Are these guys starters?

Are we okay? Or doomed to failure this year?
