I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Avant said Barnett showed up to camp at 215 last year and had to work all year to build weight. That seems a little far fetched.

Someone else (maybe Caplan/Mosher) said it awhile ago but it wasn't that light.

Fair enough.

That's what I said earlier.

We have different viewpoints on the subject, no big deal.

I don't think anyone has an issue talking about his faults. Aside from his play, most of the discussion about his faults fall on the side of speculation about his locker room behavior and leadership. I think there have been plenty of rumors and Wentz did try to address them.  I also think it's fair to question why he asked for a trade but if you don't like him I wouldn't see why you would care.   I haven't seen anyone actually engage on the topic without one side calling the other Wentz washers.  I haven't seen anyone say that Wentz was a top 5 QB and we should have never traded him.  The argument for Wentz is really not about Wentz at all but about Hurts.  I think there are 3 main issues. 1) Did Hurts warrant a 2nd round pick vs. another position of need? 2) Is Hurts a better QB than Wentz? 3) Is Hurts good enough to be an above average NFL QB?

Football is a team sport.  I think the bigger question is whether the team is better with Wentz or better with Hurts.

Football is indeed a team sport, so if the position is weaker how does that not make the team weaker?

I don't think our median expectation for Hurts is worse than what Carson provided last season.

What the heck are you talking about? Did I disagree that he played terrible? Nope . Your statement was more or less that he had "no right to ask for a trade". Every player has a "right to ask for a trade"  Which he did behind closed doors. He asked and it was granted to him. He didn't hold out or state that he wouldn't play for us again (like Watson). Howie himself said that the talks were non contentious and that Carson was told that it had to work out for both sides.

So where are you getting this "mentally weak" and "crybaby" stuff?  I mean he played terrible, he felt he lost his job and wanted to make a fresh start, and respectfully asked to be traded.

They must attack Wentz lol

Interesting. I still firmly believe if watson didn’t have his legal issues with this whole massage scandal that the eagles would have been all in to get watson. I have no doubt the eagles would’ve been right in the thick of it and try to acquire him for up what they think he’s worth. That said I still doubt watson would want to come here with options he’d have with his NTC.

However i always found it curious when mosher, caplan continued to say things it’s not a forgone conclusion that hurts was the starter into April and that people in the building keep saying they drafted him to be a backup and didn’t expect this to go this way. And there’s been multiple reports from national writers and local beat writers about them wanting watson and wilson before they knew they couldn’t move up for Zack wilson.

I think we still are. Howie could just be waiting to see what happens. Haven't heard anything in awhile but he seemed adamant that he was not playing for the Texans despite the Texans wanting him

Because chemistry and fit matter, some talented QBs can't lead or come through in the clutch, others with less talent seem to make that play when it counts and is able to raise the playo fo his teammates.

More dynamic than that, I think.  If one player is not communicating with the coaching staff or ignoring the plays as called when the other ten are doing the opposite and he is replaced by a player with less experience and maybe not as good of an arm that is one the same page with the other ten players, is the team weaker?

Great. Now a bunch of unvaccinated anti-maskers will just say they’re vaccinated.

What's weird about it? Wentz was our starting q.b.. I think you'll find that a lot of the same posters also used to defend McNabb, Cunningham, Foles, Vick and so on and so on. It's not like every player is held to the same standards.

Those guys had a much better track record, though, and neither of them ever threw their hands up and asked for a trade, even though they all faced much greater criticism during their times here. That's kind of my point: They were more successful but seemed to face greater criticism from the fanbase than Wentz did. None of those guys gave me the sense that they were totally blind to their deficiencies like he was. You don't seem to believe that Wentz was stubborn and wanted out, though. I feel like, even from the perspective of a fan, he conducted himself in a way that corroborated it.

But, like I said, I'm done on the topic. Don't want to rile anyone else up in here, lol.

Clearly Hurts has shown he is an elite NFL QB so there's no reason to question whether he will succeed.

I hate to break it to you, completing 45.6% of your passes in the second half, and only scoring points on 2 of 22 second half possessions is not elite.  It's not even serviceable.

So then the position isn't weaker.

As far as I've heard Rodgers is trying to fix things with GB, not run away.  He is a little bit of a baby.  Mentally weak, no.  His play wasnt bothered by media criticism or the team drafting another QB.

Unless I'm dreaming, I've seen numerous reports that he wasnt a great teammate.  I dont know how accurate they are but there's been enough of them.  That's where I get my opinion from.  Obviously your opinion is different I take it?

What exactly have you heard?   I've not heard any thing like this.   I heard that he told free agents he wasn't coming back.   I heard he would retire rather than return.  I heard he was demanding to be traded.   I've not heard a single thing about him trying to fix things.   I heard it was either him or the GM there.  That's not exactly 'trying to fix things', that's more 'trying to dictate' to the organization.

Track record? Why are we talking about that? You thought it was weird that people were standing up for our once starter quarterback, I gave you example of others that certain eagles fans hated and others stood up for. Wash, rinse, repeat.
