Who would you guys say is the most overrated player on the roster? Just curious what people think.

For me, it's Dallas Goedert by a country mile.

He needs to take a leap this year badly

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Come up with some new material, slowpoke.

He's not particularly good and is always injured, but for a swap of late round picks and since our CB2 is literally no one, I'd trade for Hughes.

Small comp

I'd definitely agree with this. People are really inflating those few games he played. I hope he does end up great because if we could use those first rounders next year on positions other than QB we'd really help the teams future out

Football is a team sport.  I think the bigger question is whether the team is better with Wentz or better with Hurts.

I mean I think if the team had 2 first round draft picks this season and Wentz was the starting QB you would have to think taking or trading for a QB would be a possibility next offseason.  You would still have Wentz's contract.  You would know less about whether Hurts is a starting QB or not.  They would also be out at least a 2nd round pick and possibly a third rounder.

There is substantial evidence that those infected (especially those infected with the first wave) are susceptible to some of the variants.

You don't want to play Virus Roulette, get vaccinated!

For most people, it's not about dying, though the new variants may be more deadly, but do you want to chance 1-5% odds of being a long-hauler and dealing with crap for a year or longer?

CDC just announced that those vaccinated can socialize without masks indoor or outdoors - they had to wait for studies to show that vaccinated people were unlikely to either get infected, or carry a large enough viral load to be infectious. Takes time to conduct a study and validate results.

At this point, I don't care what happened to people too stupid to get vaccinated, millions have gotten the vaccine, the only ill-effects were J&J, and there is was an extremely low number developing treatable blood clots. If you want to take your chances, go for it, improve the gene pool.

Me, I get my second shot Sunday, come June, I'm a free man.

Not that I have seen.  In fact, there is a lot of data on cases of infections from the vaccinated, but very few instances of re-infection from the clinically recovered.  There is little "substantial" evidence of anything.  Lots of misinformation though.

Just today, 7 members of the Yankees coaches and staff that were all vaccinated "tested positive."  Only one case had any symptoms.  By any definition, these are not sick people, but still vaccinated with new "cases."

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/yankees-dealing-with-covid-19-issues-as-seven-members-of-traveling-party-test-positive/

Then there was the sad story of the convent in KY where an outbreak arose after the nuns got vaccinated.  Two died.  They appear to have brought the virus upon themselves with vaccination.

https://local12.com/news/local/two-sisters-at-villa-hills-monastery-die-from-covid-19-after-28-test-positive-cincinnati

There are a bunch of studies now about re-infection rates, where people who are clinically recovered could be exposed to "new variants" etc.  Most of the scientific studies have this rate very low.  One very large study (>396k infected) had the re-infection rate at 0.4%.  Much lower than the non-effective % of the vaccines.  One very small sample (just over 1000 infected) that was widely shared and reported showed 4.9% re-infection rate.  I acknowledge this disease if much too new, and much, much more data and study are needed to conclude anything, especially for the long term.  But that is absolutely true of the vaccines as well.

https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-health/covid-19-reinfection-rate-around-0-4-epic-data-suggests.html

Bottom line, it makes sense if you want to get vaccinated, especially if you are in the vulnerable population i.e. older or with any other health conditions.  But IMO there is not enough discussed about the relative immunity and safety of the clinically recovered or previously exposed, who may be better off than the vaccinated.  There is also much more to learn and measure on the effectiveness of the vaccines.

Like with anything to do with your health, everyone should seek the information and then make their own decision as to what is best for them.

Providing facts about his play is not being a hater, it is providing facts.

I find it ironic you calling out people as hating on the Eagles QB, when you got banned from the previous board for hating on the only Eagles QB to win a Super Bowl.

Facts of his play is that he played pretty well for a rookie QB, especially compared to Eagles rookie QBs of the past, including the one you referenced in the second part of your post.

By our fans, by our FO, or by the media?

Most people know the Eagles are a pretty low talent team, so I don’t think we have many players that are very highly rated or overrated by anyone.

Goedert’s name is one worth mentioning...his durability is suspect and I don’t think he has very reliable hands, but I do think he’s a very good all around TE.  No one outside of Philly views him as more than that...maybe a select few homers think he’s an elite TE, but that’s the minority.

Miles Sanders is on the list.  Hes never run for 1k, is not a model of 3 down durability, and isn’t half the dangerous weapon some fans make him out to be.  He’s simply a good starter for the position...which makes him stand out as a "stud” on this roster.

Mailata...absolutely.  His talent is undeniable and I hope/think he’s a fixture at OT for a decade.  But his hype has progressed to the point that nobody even sees him clearly.  Pure emotion and hype.  Baldy was raving about Mailata’ rare ability when it was Pryor at LT and Mailata wasn’t on the field.  Mailata still struggles with the speed rush and has been on IR every year he’s been in the league.  He has a lot to prove.

Fulgham.  This one takes the cake for me.  I think he’s horrible.  A substantial portion of the fan base thinks he’s going to be our X wr.

Clearly Hurts has shown he is an elite NFL QB so there's no reason to question whether he will succeed.

He's shown enough promise to be excited about his potential in year 2.  Pathetic people around are ruling out any possibility of him developing further into a good QB and are actively rooting against him while placing insanely high standards to him that they would not place on another young QB.

Pointing out his flaws and having criticism of his play doesn't mean people are actively rooting for him to fail.

Wouldn't think that would have to be explained, but apparently so.

Already been over this with you months ago.  You are actively rooting against him.  You're the one that threw out wild claims about Josh Allen in the second half of his first 4 starts being drastically better than Jalen Hurts in his first 4 starts but were never able to back it up with actual numbers for your argument.  You're nothing but a silly hater with no substance at all to the crap you fling against a wall.

Gannon must have hated Hughes.

The complete lack of moves at CB combined with the fact that Ertz is still on the roster makes me think that Howie is ultimately hoping to get a CB back in an Ertz trade.

Go ahead and find a single post where I said I hope he fails. On the other hand, I can show you several where I've said the total opposite.

Again, showing numbers (which I have done a number of times, including pictures of said numbers) isn't actively rooting against someone. Comparing players isn't rooting against someone.

Is it that difficult for you, kid?

You're rooting for him to fail by proving him wrong. You big meanie.

I acknowledge that you enjoyed the city of Charlotte.  I acknowledge that you went to an Eagle game there.  I acknowledge that "keep pounding” is a saying by their 15 fans.

But WHAT IS THE RELEVANCE?

You mentioned you landed tickets to the game. Its simple chat, just talking to a fellow Eagles fan that is going to the Eagles/Panthers game and Giving my experience of the city and people when I was there in 2017. Nothing more then that.

False. I posted numbers again just the other day. Take a look.

Now let's see all of the times I've said I hope Hurts fails. I'll wait. Don't run, back yourself up as I have, numerous times.

Mailata.  Some folks have him anointed as an all pro LT or starting level OT.. He is a viable swing tackle at this point.  Led the team in sacks allowed last year, although that was partly because he pushed players back behind the QB and Carson backed into the sack. Contrast that with the three other OTs (not Toth or Pryor), who move their opponent more back but not in.  He made lots of mistakes and is unpolished.  He has been practicing/playing for three years now at the pro level.  A lot of OL have a similar level of experience coming into the draft.  (3 years of college). Sure they have HS and even Middle School experience but blocking at the HS level isn’t close to a larger college level program. People also talk about him being an athletic wonder.  He ran a 5.12 40 yard dash.  Nothing close to Lane’s quickness or speed.  Lane put up 28 reps to Jordan’s 22.  Heck, Driscoll was a 5.02 and similar reps.  Dillard run a sub 5.0 forty and displayed similar quickness to Lane and put up 24 reps.  Mailata is huge at 346 compared to the others but he is not some uber athlete.  He is a good athlete for his size. He does have long arms which besides his size is the major distinction between him and Dillard or Driscoll. But Driscoll and Dillard looked way more polished in their technique.
