Speaking of arm length I never knew Villanueva had 37.8 inch arms. That’s insane. It’s wild to look back that the Eagles signed a guy whose 6’9 with super long arms to play DE

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Gotta love @RememberTheKoy.  Die hard Eagles fan ( supposedly ).  Hates the guy that got them a Lombardi.

Read back a few pages and I think that's enough.  Well, it's clear who replaced DJax as RTK's new man crush and it's also clear he has to be put on ignore.  I don't feel like reading how Hurts is godly and nothing is his fault should he not play well and the team loses.  FFS, that argument that he would have won the game vs the Foreskins if he was left in is just like how Rueben Randal would have been the 2nd best WR on the team if he hadn't been cut.

That game could have been played continuously for three days, and the Eagles were not going to win with Hurts at QB

Are you guys trying to say an average of 35 yards from scrimmage per quarter from a running QB is bad? Laughable.

400 yards passing is the new 300 yard passing game in today’s NFL.  Couple that with the fact QBs can put up huge passing yardage if the team is playing from behind the entire game — just look at Brady in SB 52.  505 yards passing and he was only 28-for-48.  Why?  Because the Pats were behind almost the entire game.  Brady was piling up yardage throwing to wide open receivers in the 2nd half but wasn’t very good at all in the 1st half

If the Eagles are playing from behind most games this season it’s really not going to be that impressive for Hurts to pass for 300 yards — 300 now is like 230 yards in the 90s.  What will be impressive is if Hurts can lead the team from behind to win games  — he’ll need his arm to do that

What’s 72 passing yards after 3 quarters considered? 1792?

I agree with your overall point, but if Hurts throws for 4,000 yards this season I’d consider that a pretty big win... and the Eagles will probably have a surprisingly good season if that happens.

The weird part is that would only be about 235 yards per game with the new schedule. If we project last years passing yardage for the 17 game schedule, that’s basically a middle of the pack total for the season. About 16th overall.

You brought up the Tebwo numbers before some months ago.   If you ever actually watched Tebow play there is no real comparison.  He had one of the most God awful long winding slow developing throwing motions that lead to widely in accurate throws.  That's not Hurts.

Journeyman backup QB currently riding 3rd on the Bears depth chart.

Argument wasn't about his mechanics, how enjoyable they were to watch or anything else. We are strictly talking numbers.

AFan is a bit of a fanatic about arm size. Arm length isn’t Driscoll’s issue. It is strength in his anchor.

It's hard to play OT with shorter arms, means you have to be very quick in your first step to cut off the outside move, and that leaves you vulnerable to inside moves. And if you're focused on moving your feet to shadow the DE, you can get caught off guard by a bull rush. With guys with long arms like Mailata, they can recover when beat and extend and push the DE past the QB. It was almost impossible to get around Tra Thomas for that reason.

Peters was exceptional, both his size and strength, and his quickness, a true "dancing bear."

370+ ypg total offense ( who cares run or pass ), T/O’s avg 1.3 a game at most

Last season 335 ypg and 1.9+ T/O’s

Just saw the updated roster.  #14 for Gainwell is a little weird, hopefully he can get a different one, unless he's considered a slot receiver.  We should let #25 be available, its been long enough.

The new number rules are going to be hard to get used to for me

Yup, I imagine having a full off-season as the "starter" and having a little bit of continuity with the guys will help him, getting thrown into the dumpster fire last year wouldn't be an ideal situation for any qb.the offense can

Hopefully this year with some of the weapons they have and if the O line can stay healthy Hurts will be able to at least be competitive.

I'm sure he'll still go through growing pains but if the o-line can stay healthy I think the offense can be competitive, it's the defense that worries me more, there isn't much there and there's only so much scheme can make up for.

I'd be shocked if the defense was even average this year.

Define "competitive".

So the C word cannot be brought up unless he is talked about in a positive light?  But if you bring him up and say something negative, it's an obsession?  However, it is completely ok to trash the QB that is STILL on the team.  Makes perfect sense.

Yo almost time for post June 1 cuts or whatever. Let’s get Foles back here.

There isn’t anything positive or negative to say about the guy that hasn’t been said already 10,000 times. And yes, it’s time to praise or trash the current QB who is actually on the team and actually a Philadelphia Eagle.

Funny how those of us that don't think Hurts is going to be all that good can say so without cute little nick names
