I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

How much extra time do we get for OTAs or training camp because we have a new HC?

Can’t find it anywhere but on one of the podcasts Caplan maybe? Said there wasn’t anything for this in 2021.

Thanks.

What do you think of the Caplan/Mosher podcast?

It’s the most informative as far as the inner workings of the team and organization. They usually have good nuggets every pod that others don’t. They don’t delve into hot takes. I think there X’s and O’s talk is a bit lacking though. And Caplan gets annoying.

Thank you for confirming this.  His self-promotion is annoying.

But, as you said, they have good connections around the league, so it's a tedious but necessary listen.

Inside the Birds is a frustrating listen. I don't think they're great podcast hosts, but the nuggets are valuable. Really wish they would just write them up since that's their value. I think their biggest failing is comparing the Eagles to other organizations, then not benchmarking properly.

I like that they stay out of the weeds. Being smart enough to know what you don’t know is a good thing. As much as I like Kist and Solak (because they do have a strong understanding of the game), it’s obnoxious how strong their takes were regarding the Xs and Os. Ease up, guys, you aren’t that smart.

Of course McLane focuses on the negative.

Too bad about Ertz, I will miss him. Not his play from last year though

So ow I'm confused.  The whole statement the NFLPA put out for teams to share like the Eagles did...is not now forgotten or are just certain players saying F it?

There was a lot of hyperbole with K&S. I enjoyed the show overall, but the hot takes were beyond annoying at times.

I think he stil has some good football in him, but I think his days of being at top 5 TE are over.  I think Howie might end up having to release him. I think we might have enough money to sign our rookies, but I'm not sure now that we signed Kerrigan.  Ertz is just tying up cap space and it's clear that teams are trying to force Howie into cutting him.  I can't believe a team like the Jats would rather gamble converting Tebow into a TE vs. getting a guy that would be good for Lawrence for a year or two.

The NFLPA wanted less physical activity in the spring to compensate for the extra game THAT THEY HAD ALREADY AGREED TO VIA COLLECTIVE BARGAINING!

Not realizing that they will be diminishing the quality of the product that leads to the ratings that leads to the TV deal that leads to their wealth.

Sounds like they are doing meetings but boycotting workouts

The TV deals are locked in for the next 10 years, most if not all of the current vets will be long gone by the time the next one rolls around. They don't give a F anymore.

Agreed, I don’t think they should be breaking down film or anything. I just feel like Caplan uses too many buzzwords and dumbs it down too much to the point where all I take away from it is "this guy can run. This guy can’t run.” or he just gives second hand info he heard from someone else, and when he says it, it doesn’t make sense and turns into some kind of whisper down the lane, game.

But overall they have a good niche in the Eagles pod ecosystem. I listen to them for the intel, would listen to K&S or Journey to the draft for more of the X’s and O’s

Find a dumb team that will offer us a 6th next year and trade Ertz.  Let's move on.

Maybe a reason why our FO isn't going crazy over CBs...

Cornerback: That would line up with the Eagles' current biggest need. The top two consensus corners are LSU's Derek Stingley, who consistently lands in the top 5 of most early 2022 big boards, and Florida's Kaiir Elam.

I'm guessing something similar happened with the Eagles

Most likely some sort of RPS version of negotiations.

Eh. At this point maybe wait until camp. Every year teams realize that a pass catcher or two they drafted mid rounds isn’t very good. Injuries happen as well.

For a contending team, Ertz should be worth at least a 4th.

I think we can see where this is headed...he's going to be released.

Prediction.  Kyle Pitts tears his ACL in camp.  Eagles trade Ertz to the Falcons for a 6th round pick.  Ertz torches the Eagles in week 1.
