Too bad about Ertz, I will miss him. Not his play from last year though

Or when he used to fall down before contact

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Agreed, I don’t think they should be breaking down film or anything. I just feel like Caplan uses too many buzzwords and dumbs it down too much to the point where all I take away from it is "this guy can run. This guy can’t run.” or he just gives second hand info he heard from someone else, and when he says it, it doesn’t make sense and turns into some kind of whisper down the lane, game.

But overall they have a good niche in the Eagles pod ecosystem. I listen to them for the intel, would listen to K&S or Journey to the draft for more of the X’s and O’s

I gave up on the Mosher/Caplan pod. They just blow themselves for an hour and provide like 5 mins worth of good info.

So can he help us not get screwed with the schedule?  We are #1 is the last decade for getting F'd over with most games played with less rest than our opponent.

:P

The players and their union are so stupid

Losing their minds about freaking OTAs when the owners couldnt care less.  Wow, guys, you really got them where it hurt, way to focus on what's really important

The NFLPA wanted less physical activity in the spring to compensate for the extra game THAT THEY HAD ALREADY AGREED TO VIA COLLECTIVE BARGAINING!

Not realizing that they will be diminishing the quality of the product that leads to the ratings that leads to the TV deal that leads to their wealth.

And giving up the OTAs is an overall win for the owners who dont care about it at all.

The NFLPA negotiates like Peter Griffin

True, yet I imagine say Steven nelson is going to want more than a 1 year deal, the longer they go unsigned the more their price drops until competition for their services is in effect which at this point I don't think it is.

A corner like nelson is going to demand a bit more on the market than a 33 year old rotational DE.

Maybe Howie is working the phones for a trade or is planning on signing a corner after the first wave of cuts.

no reason at this point to rush in and make hasty moves Howie is in a position where he can be patient and wait to see what comes to him.

Yeah that's the only thing I can think is he is trying to work Ertz into a trade for a capable corner.

Is it a hot take to say I could see Flacco starting by October? Not because Hurts is injured but because he isn’t playing well?

Hell I wouldn’t be shocked to see Joe get 1st team reps preseason.

Some players have a spine. Nice to see.

Some players have work out bonuses and fear getting injured offsite.

Their analysis is OK but the podcast is at least 60% Caplan essentially name dropping.  It's really annoying.

Hotter take: Hurts gets traded and never starts a game for the Birds, we trade for Watson and let Flacco hold it down until Watson finishes up his suspension.

I think the NFLPA's focus is really injury based.  Injuries don't help the product either.

Anything is possible

Or actually I don't think Malik and Lashon have been released yet and can't until June 1st so are there any CBs out there that teams have designated as that June 1st cut that the Eagles might be waiting for?

It's just a really stupid take for anyone that has seen Joe Flacco play these past 3 years.

I think he stil has some good football in him, but I think his days of being at top 5 TE are over.  I think Howie might end up having to release him. I think we might have enough money to sign our rookies, but I'm not sure now that we signed Kerrigan.  Ertz is just tying up cap space and it's clear that teams are trying to force Howie into cutting him.  I can't believe a team like the Jats would rather gamble converting Tebow into a TE vs. getting a guy that would be good for Lawrence for a year or two.

Ertz should be miles better than Tebow.  But teams will wait out Howie to sign Ertz for nothing.  The Kerrigan signing also forces Howie's hand to open some cap space.

They are released, just their cap numbers aren't. Malik already signed with the Browns.

It seems like Caplan is trying to impress everyone listening to the Podcast, he always mentions a coach, a GM, a former player, etc..  That he and only he talked to.  I’m guessing it’s Ballard and Douglas that talk to him a little bit, but the mentions get old.
Mosher tries at least, and doesn’t come off as a know-it-all.

Which is the K&S podcast that’s been mentioned?

I don’t mind the Enquirer one when Les Bowen is on, Domowitch not so much. Bowen isn’t really informative or an X and O’s guy but he is matter of fact and dry.

Kist and Solak but it's no more. Solak has some solo pods every now and then but it's been meh. He needs someone else with him in the worst way.

On the CB front, maybe they believe McPherson is a cut above any FA CBs left on the market. Let him battle out with the back end of the roster for CB2. Hell maybe James or Jacquett impress in camp.

Looking forward to landing the likes of Elam or Stingley next year though. I do reserve the right to dust off my pitchfork if they pass on one of them with potentially 3 first round picks at their disposal.

They should give discounts to those not out of shape/overweight

Airlines may start WEIGHING people at the gate amid fears aircraft are being overloaded by fat passengers

Releasing Ertz and getting absolutely nothing for him would be idiotic. So yeah, I guess I can see it happening. After all, they made a similarly idiotic move fairly recently.

Relying on a 4th round rookie CB to win the starting CB job opposite Slay is pure negligence if that is what the FO is actually thinking.

Easy decision for me on Ertz

Option A- Ertz sits out, Eagles don't pay him for time missed. If he doesnt play up to  par week 1 then hes on the bench. Don't think that would help him much next season getting a nice new contract. Hes only hurting himself if he chooses that option.

Option B- Ertz mans up, earns his pay and plays to his full potential. This option will help him get a trade deadline deal or a nice contract next year.

honor your contract, play your butt off and earn you pay day next year. If you dont, sit out, earn nada this year and hurt your chances next year.

Yeah or someone who watched Hurts and understands he’s not a very good passer of the football. I have not heard one commitment to Jalen Hurts this offseason

Does he still want Kelce and Kittle money?
