Man, it would be crazy if in the end Miami flipped Tunsil for Watson

Could you imagine being the foolish coach who takes the job on the premise that "Carson is fixable?” Especially if you spent time watching Carson play over the last three years? You’d be fired after this year when it becomes obvious that Carson is done.

I mean, the guy went half the year and couldn’t drive the football 15 yards down the field with power and accuracy. There’s no fixing that.

Well yea...

Understand where you are coming from and we’ve had this discussion ad neuseum: I think Carson has played mediocre to bad football since his injury and the four game stretch last year was the aberration (and thus 2020 was just more of the new normal) and it sounds like you think 2020 was the aberration. When you disagree at that fundamental level, you aren’t going to agree to much in terms of the team’s future outlook and the attractive nature of the Eagles coaching position.

So from my perspective, this job is unattractive to the higher end coaches because whoever is coming in basically has to agree to perform a miracle or be fired next year.

Which 4 game stretch are you referring to?

I don't want Bieniemy. Frankly, I'm not sure why anyone does. People only want him because they go "KC's offense is great, therefore their OC must be great too!"

Reid is the brains behind that offense. And they have Mahomes. No more Reid disciples, please. If I want an OC, I want one who coached a great offense under a defensive head coach, so you knew they were the brains.

I don't see how Bieniemy is any different from Mike McDaniel in SF. It's Shanahan's offense.

The more I think about Bieniemy and Kafka, the less I want either of them.

I don't think he's gonna get traded. Tell him to sit down and shut the F up and if you don't wanna play then don't play. But you don't get to dictate where you go unless you're a free agent.

I said the same thing about a week ago. The next two years they have a boatload of high picks. The amount of picks they have and ability to also then trade darnold to get more picks or the Texans could take darnold as well.

That's because owners are cowards who don't stand their ground.

It very well could be if someone put their foot down and just said "no"

OK.  But, at the same time, Daboll is widely considered the next hot coach, coming off a big season with a QB that struggled.   If he was the OC for the 32nd ranked offense, a winless team or whatever then you could say it wasn't merited.   BUT... Daboll absolutely has worked his way up and become the hot commodity.  The fact that the Chargers have the inside track on getting him doesn't diminish his merit.

I don’t care what the owner did or didn’t tell Watson — a player gets zero input in the hiring process for a GM position.  If he had gotten upset over not being consulted on head coach candidates, maybe — but that should never be made public, either.

The Texans need to be in full-blown rebuild mode.  If the franchise QB doesn’t want to be part of it, that’s up to him.  Trade him now to the highest bidder, because he’s not a leader.

Hard to do without draft picks.

Depending on who they hire, I think going 0-16 next season could truly be the best thing for them. It would be the ultimate humbling experience, that’s for sure, and possibly get Howie fired finally. If they promote Duce, or get Kafka, that’s what I hope happens... 0-16.

If they’re mandating Wentz be the starter next season, they’re an embarrassment and I hope every good candidate turns them down. They just need to be humbled as a duo, their collective ego is totally out of control. They should tell the coach it’s their decision on who wins the QB  job.

Going 0-16 would be nearly impossible in our division, even if we are the worst team in it.

We barely lost to WTF while trying to lose.  6 games like that every year plus a last place schedule.  They’ll win a few by accident.

Exactly. The Jets tried to tank and they still won three games in a better division then ours. The eagles if they are bad still likely win 4-6 games

Philly Sports Media/fans when the 2020 season ended:

"We need a complete rebuild, trade older players for draft picks because we need as many draft picks as possible for the rebuild.  Heck, we might as well tank 2021 as well for more draft picks.  And we also need to focus on getting Wentz' career turned around."

Philly Sports media/fans when it was rumored that DeShaun Watson could become available:

" Trade Wentz, this year's 1st, next year's 1st, this year's 2nd, and next years 2nd.  Let's get DeShaun Watson!"

The Texans have better weapons than we do.  Why would Watson be happy here?

I’d argue he has better WRs and will fuller is a free agent and likely going to leave. So it’s really cooks and coutee. The eagles tight end even with ertz gone, RB and oline when healthy is better than the Texans.

that said he’s not coming here. That’s a pipe dream. He likely winds up in Miami for #3, tua and picks or the Jets who have a ton of draft capital or possibly the niners if they go all in
