Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Agreed.  If you are working out hard enough, you are out of breathe between sets.  A mask will only make it worse.

No disrespect, Sydney, but a 45 lb weight on each side and a 10 lb bar is bench 100 lbs.  I bench more than that as an old man.

Think of it as aerobic.

not sure where you lift that has a 10lb bar most of the time they are 45. That said I think the point is he's lifting his legs off of the ground at the same time which makes that lift all upper body and I'm sure (I hope) he's doing a lot of reps

Can they "social distance" in your gym or doesn't that count?

I was going to the gym daily on deployment and a mask was mandatory. Weightlifting only, the cardio room didn't require masks though. You likely won't be able to run with one but you can 100% lift weights with a mask on

It’s "required” but realistically it’s impossible to enforce.

Well here's to hoping that your gym can find a way to survive. Sorry that this whole thing sucks so bad.

Still kneeling?  Not trying to be a jerk about it as we've all stated our beliefs but "black national anthem" being played, decals on helmets, millions of dollars being donated to organizations.  The awareness is there, borderline fatigue at this point.

Eagles cut Render and Trevor Williams, so I guess he isn’t the sleeper at CB I hoped for.

Going to the gym in a mask isn't even that bad, it's just annoying. If people really care about working out they won't let a mask stop them from going

And wipe down the equipment, before and after.

My wife and I work out twice a week with a trainer on Zoom. I don't think we'll ever go back to the gym.

But the problem is PS can be poached since you can't protect them all. Like my example with TE, if Ertz and DG get it, then they are going into a game with one TE. Maybe there is one on the PS, but what if the Colts or another team poaches him earlier in the week?

When injuries start to pile up on top of Covid it's going to get ugly fast. Look at what happened to the Eagles last year. They were ravaged at certain positions and that is without Covid knocking more out. It takes time to learn the playbook, so they can't just grab a guy at a skill position from other teams on Thursday and have him contribute Sunday. They need to expand the roster.

One idea for this Covid season: forget PS, making the WHOLE roster eligible to play every game.  Players who are tested positive, stay quarantine and won't be available for games.  Teams can't predict or control the numbers of those players, even they try to keep everyone healthy.  Having the expanded roster will ensure there will be enough players to field the games.  The team's salary may be higher for more players on the roster (assuming playing players get more than the PS ones), but the bottom few would be small compared to the top.

Maybe? We did get a new WR coach so maybe he can be fixed? Don't know

I understand that... but if they aren't quarantining tightly outside of the building then there's really no point.  They could be exposed at any moment and then what?

Agreed. They'll need to stay away from people during the season. Obviously there'll be players that wont and will still be around a lot of people and likely get COVID.

I just don't know how they'll do it if someone gets sick and they'll have to quarantine them and likely whoever is around them but that's a lot of players

It just doesn't seem possible for this season to happen IMO

BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE! (TM)

I felt this was his last try but with the season in jeopardy he may get another excuse

When is he due for a contract?

Sounds like they know a reduced TC roster is coming vs signing someone new at this point.

TV/techy folks...

Just bought a new TV for the first time in 12 years, what’s the best "mode” for watching sports? There’s a sports mode, but the colors look too bright IMO.

I don’t care enough to get into the weeds on changing levels but was more curious about setting you guys use.

I know there is a mode that makes everything look like a soap opera....it's crystal clear but IMO not good.  I also don't know the name of it so I'm no help.  Yea don't use that one.

What a worthless post ha.

I don't think one case will mean a whole team will be closed down; I assume players will be divided into certain groups while training and will spend less time in meeting rooms, etc. Locker rooms will be a challenge but it's not unsurmountable.  I can see K balls being a challenge for  kickers if they need to be sanitised constantly. And STs being sketchy as the season starts.

The players and FO/Staff won't have a great deal of face to face contact, and I'd imagine D coaches and O coaches won't mix unless in PPE to limit contamination.  It won't be like it was, but it's possible.  The NFLPA won't like it, but they needed to teams to get back a lot earlier to get players adjusted, otherwise the product will suffer.

I think it looked to him like Sydney was working in an assisted smith rack, where 10lbs can be about right. He’s not, but working of the front of a squat rack can look similarly enough

Its a shoe in the product will suffer. Depends just how much.

I'm probably late to the party but this no preseason is a bad deal for the players toward the bottom of the pecking order. No chance to prove themselves on the field.

I don't think it's a big deal. Teams get a pretty good idea of what a player is in camp.

And while the NFLPA are looking at testing in great detail, they aren't focused on the end product enough.  TV contracts are up, and politics being prevalent alongside a potentially slow start could doom them.
