Someone was asking for a picture of the "noose". I don't know much about garage pulls but I can certainly see why someone would think its a noose

It was basically a perfect storm: black driver, black crew member saw it, current racial tensions, that it happened to be the only one in the area tied that way, no one from his team can remember seeing a rope pull tied that way, the confederate flag recently being banned at NASCAR events. Not to mention that nooses have long been used as a threatening sign.

To expect people to not take that incredibly seriously is being obtuse.

I think that picture is a bit misleading, especially with respect to the size of the noose.

The size is irrelevant...

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Maybe, but Nascar is the one that released the picture

Ummm cuz its a noose. Zero reason to use a noose for a garage pull. Plenty of other knots out there...

Agreed. Especially since its the only one they found tied that way too

Put a tiny noose on a black person’s porch and tell me how you think they’d react.

Well that explains why the FBI took it so seriously.   That's clearly a noose.

This is a rope pull.

While were giving shout outs to eagles DT gotta mention Andy Harmon, he wasnt in the mold of cox and brown as andy was much smaller but he was quick and relentless. Too bad injuries ended his short but fun career.

Yes. Very underrated player. I thought he was one of the best defensive tackles in the league circa '95-'96. Then he gets an injury is supposed to be out for a couple of weeks. Those couple of weeks pass and it's going to be a few more weeks. Then it's that he's out for the year. And then he never plays again.

And here is the most common google search result for it.

I'm not arguing their is a difference. It's like what you said before, it's a perfect storm. They were perfectly reasonable to report it, and its ridiculous he and his crew are getting compared to Jussie Smollett and receiving any type of negative feedback after the investigation.

I didn’t mean you specifically, just in general.

I believe the FBI said that rope had been in that garage since last year sometime. So what did the rope look like back then?  Was it tied like that before or was it just a straight rope hanging?  Any cameras in there that might have seen something?

Well the tell tale thing for me is it's attached to a garage door and has been for over a year.

It could be both innocent and ominous, that is, someone deliberately put a noose as a rope pull for fun, without thinking there was any implication, then a black driver is assigned that bay, and obviously a black crew member would see the noose, not know it's been there for a year, and come to an obvious but wrong conclusion.

There are also people walking around with cards saying they are exempt from using face masks. Wow

The bold is true but how is the guy who was a major voice in getting rid of the confederate flag from Nascar supposed to know that when he or his crew walk into the garage for the first time?

Yes, last year.

All bull. Democrat leaders can attend protests with thousands, or allow protests with thousands in areas they control, but we have to shut states down again. It is all political. All geared towards November.

Bottom line is quarantine didn't work. We tried for months. No point in going back to it again. Open up Disney and everything else.

There is a huge difference between a total shutdown and recognizing the value of social distancing and masks coupled with washing hands.  The problem is we have people who could care less about the health of others that won’t practice social distancing and think masks mean you must be a bleeding heart liberal. I saw more masks and social distancing displayed In the protests than I saw in my visit the last week to East Texas via TN and AR.   Once I hit VA, MD and PA, pretty much everybody had masks on. I kept a distance from everyone and used my mask. I wear N95 masks. My wife uses a cloth mask. We isolated her even more.  I cleaned the hotel rooms thoroughly with a Clorox based cleanser before I we brought anything in.  Open up Disney is going to be like Texas, where the governor just told people to stay home and wear masks when they go out.  Do we really have so little regard for others?

Yup. Then his crew member and crew chief followed the chain of command. It’s not like they ran to television cameras to scream racism. It was investigated and found he wasn’t targeted.

Ummmm how Mike Schmidt wasn’t no. 1 on this list is ridiculous. Then again it’s WIP and they probably had ESP do they list. I love AI but he didn’t deserve to be 1 over Schmidt. Also disagree with utley being top 5 over clarke, Erving, Carlton and parent and i love utley. Schmidt is the greatest third baseman in MLB history and his accomplishments are ridiculous when you see them laid out.

schmidt’s accomplishments:

— 80 WS MVP (won title)

— 3x NL MVP (80,81,86)

— 10x gold glove winner

—12 x all star

—6x silver slugger

— 8x NL homerun leader

— 4x NL rbi leader

— Mlb all century team

— Mlb all time team.

I think there's a real question as to whether Iverson was the best team player in a team sport.  He had great individual talent.  I agree Schmidt should be ahead of him.  Schmidt is 16 all-time in HRs.  Iverson is 25th all-time in NBA scoring.  If you count NBA/ABA, Moses Malone and Julius Erving are 8 & 9 all time.  They should be ahead of him.  Carlton is number 11 all-time in career wins.

Yup. Amazing and sad he never made a pro bowl between those 95-96 seasons because he was elite.

Shame he got injured he was one of my favorite eagles regardless of position.
