I'm not predicting anything.  I'm saying with a 3 score lead the object on offense should be to occupy the ball and play field position to lesson the opponent's chances of scoring.   There isn't the need to necessarily score more.

Good teams play in the moment and do what they have to do.   When they needed to score 38 to beat Detroit... didn't they score when needed?  the game was different, Detroit came back, waiting time and playing field position wasn't going to work.

Yet in that Detroit game, the Lions scored 14 unanswered points. What you keep sidestepping is We never answer these unanswered scores late in games. Why do you think we can now do this? Do you know something about this team we all don't? You know that they can score at will if the Vikings get within 7 midway thru the 4th? Simply playing keep away and trying to run down the clock is not the answer.

The Eagles had 4 possessions in the 2nd half.

The first one was 6 and a half minutes ... 13 plays 69 yards.   Missed FG.

The 2nd possession they took over 5 minutes and took the game into the 4th quarter.

That's perfect when the opponent doesn't get it closer than 17 points.  The last 2 possessions the game was basically over.

With the exception of the dumb decision to throw that screen pass.  They could have knelt 3 times and punted at that point.   There was no need to score on the last 2 drives. Because we KNEW Minnesota was still behind by 17.

Would it look good for stats if they scored.  But if I got a 17 point lead and I occupy the ball for almost 12 minutes right off the bat in the 2nd half without the opponent scoring... I'm good with that.  Shortens the game and forces them to have to score 3 times on less than a quarter.

The issue I have was the interception.  That can't happen up 17 midway through the 4th Q. Game is basically over with 3 runs and a punt.

Btw... how about our punter making the TD saving tackle!  Hopefully his punting didn't fall 3 yards short of the acceptable net average ... lol.

OK so you knew at 1/2 time in Detroit that they were going to score, but the the Vikes were not-got it. You've been hanging out with Ham some?

IDK Joe,the fact we couldn't score even 1 FG in 30 minutes should bother you??? Noone was asking for another 24 LOL

Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, he watched every snap of the Eagles' win Monday and came away impressed with Jalen Hurts. For once, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but Jerruh is right. Wow ok that feels weird. Dallas sucks. That feels better.

Never knew there were so any clairvoyants on this board -AMAZING stuff !!! We knew at 1/2 time there was no more scoring needed. Guess we should have thought that in Detroit as well. So tell me what happens next week at 1/2 time cause I can make a boatload of money already knowing!!!

Well Joe,you are just loweiing your bar like Ham now. The fact we COULDN'T score is now an excuse to say "well there's no NEED to score now",but my bar is higher and I have seen many times teams lead 24-7 and then at the half it gets reversed and goes into OT.So,you can lower your bar,I will not,so we agree to disagree

Didn't we answer scores in Detroit?   We had 38 at halftime?

Look at the possessions vs Minnesota.  We had 13 plays ,69 yards and 6:30 possession to start the 2nd half( after Minnesota already wasted 5 minutes) .  The missed FG was not the offense fault. Our next possession already got us into the 4th quarter.   The following one was the dumb interception.  And the last possession was irrelevant as the game was over.

That's 4 possessions, all with a 17 point lead, we occupied the ball for 12 minutes on the 1st two...  the. Dumb INT on the 3rd and the 4th was irrelevant as there wasn't time left except for Minnesota to score a garbage TD.

That's how the game played out.   Detroit scored in the 2nd half, and so did we when we needed to.  We saw it happen,  that's how we know it can happen. Why is this a hard concept to understand?

I'm not lowering the bar... the offense had a 13 play 69 yard possession that brought the clock down under 4 minutes in the 3rd.  That was 1st possession in second half.   Which offensive player was the reason we missed the FG?

The offense did their job in the 2nd half by limiting the possessions Minnesota had.    The one ....ONE flaw was the INT.  At that point game was iced.  Minnesota had the ball 2 more times.  You can't score 17 in 2 possessions.   So yeah....I'm good with the 2 possessions to start the half.  That's when it mattered.

Any word yet on Slays foot?

Hopefully he just got stepped on.

Hurts put together a great outing that’s we what need from him weekly. The only minor complaint I could have is I’d still like to see him take less hits but that is just a health concern for him.

If he plays like he did vs Minnesota though for the rest of the season we can be legit SB contenders(as well as the D playing at the same level vs Minnesota). He will also be in line to get his franchise QB pay

I will also add Hurts best pass that I seem atleast might have been a pass to Geodart think in the 2nd qtr. perfectly place ball between two defenders of it was slightly under thrown or overthrown could have been picked easily.

Geodart didn’t come down with a tough grab but still a really well thrown ball.

But now it’s about consistency have to do it again next week vs Washington.

I freaking love it! Game saver….the punter everyone wants to get rid of. It was a hell of a hustle play by the punter!

Where is Cunningham? He has a right to gloat. Hurts played great on Monday night. Now do it every week Hurts. We are all pulling for you to be the best QB. We still may have some doubts, but we are pulling for you.

Good Solid Play-off teams put away their competition. You say it was fine to sit on the lead. Buffalo was up by 17 with over 10 minutes to go in the 3rd. Did they sit on their lead? NO. They continued to pile up the points to put away the other team. Because they didn't want them to have a chance to make a come back. They scored 17 more points AFTER they were up by 17. That is the difference between a good team and one with aspirations of a SB appearance. KC does it. TB does it. GB does it. All of the SB potential teams do it. If we had scored another 2 TD's in the 3rd we rest Hurts in the 4th and save him for the next game. Why don't you understand the importance of this? Because you have the hindsight of knowing what transpired?

Question for all of you: Baltimore cannot sign Jackson and he does not sign the Franchise Tag. Jackson has already stated that the Eagles are one team he would like to go to. Do you sign him for 50 Mil per on a 5 year guaranteed contract?

Then you can trade Hurts for a First round pick in 2023. trade away one of those first round picks for a 2nd and a 1st in 2024. That will give them two first and second round picks for 2023 and 2024. You will have your Elite QB so no need to waste your picks on a QB. You will have plenty of Ammo to build your roster and not need to sign FA's, so you save on your cap.

What do you think?

We were up by 17 in the third quarter and after  the 3rd quarter....

Well, one thing that surprises me is that Ham has not made any comments yet since the win. Granted one game does not prove anything. Wentz had some pretty awesome games before he tanked. But Hurts did show he can go thru his progressions. He did read defenses and he did make some tight window throws. Should he continue to perform like this (or Close to it) we will all owe Ham a bow... LOL I know he is waiting for it..... Not that I mind. As I said multiple times, I hope I was wrong. That will save us a bunch of draft picks and allow us to build this team without using Free agency....

Joe, do not get me wrong. I am really pleased with the way the Eagles played on Monday! I just feel the only thing they did wrong was sit on that lead. Was that terrible? No, but it was something that could come back and bite them in the butt down the road should they not fix it. There was little to nothing to complain about their play. The coaches did a great job for the first time since the beginning of last season. The timing of the blitzes was great.

I predicted 11 wins and I think the floor is now 9. No way they lose more than 8 games. Actually 8 may be difficult to do. That would mean losing 3 division games and 2 to the AFC south.

12 is now a possibility. They probably lose to either Tenn or Indy, GB, 2 division games and 1 more to either Pitts or NO. That would be 12.... I would be happy should they be able to manage that....
