That tweet about his stolen car clearly labeled the city. It wasn’t just him being pissed. He called out that’s how y’all act after a win in Philly.

Just wouldn’t be my response over that situation.

Maybe some think I’m reading too much into it. But felt like his true feelings about the city came out in his anger. I was always thinking the best chance we had to keep him was sign him early. Before halfway through the season could have got him to stay. After that I’ve felt he’s gone. So I feel the extreme priority of the love for CGJ from you. But I don’t think it’s an option. So think much of your position on no plan is compromised on step one.

I agree with part of the grading and evaluation is based on longevity

Longevity and the ability to find a replacement.   You invest in something long term that is difficult to replace.  The other pieces that are more easily replaceable you can put them lower on the priority list and look to get them cheaper.

I would assume we do that? (And every other team?) There are "blocks" of things to do,like a list. You can't plan your draft picks right now. There are dates for things to happen, you have to take those in the provided order with beginnings and endings. After all those blocks are done, you try to fill in with "what's left" First block is  "sign whomever players you have you want to retain or decide to let them leave" When that is over (I assume that is March 13-15 somewhere this year) then you can go to the next block which would be trying to sign impact players that walked from other teams. Block 3 is the draft, block 4 is "cleanup". They all have time frames,so really a mock draft list is useless(and I am the king of those) until block 2 is completed. you can  have your "master plan" of all 4,but by block 2 the others will change. So lets WIN THE SB,then re-sign who we can, then it's on to block 2

I’m not mock drafting draft picks in the master plan. Not specific..this guy or that guy. But sizing up quality and quantity of positions. Along with the FA and likely trade options.

So jerruh said McCarthy will be calling the plays, huh? Yeah he won a SB in GB, but he had Rodgers audibling all over the place, something I don't think Dak's as capable at. Rodgers just all around a better QB.

ARod complained about what a moron McCarthy was also. How he had to try and win despite that HC.

Then it's not an option.  He probably really hates it here.  Why play for this team if the money is the same?  He will probably take less to leave.   Makes sense.

But again... I think assuming discussion prior to the trade and shortly after ... that they weren't communicating about a long term deal... I don't think it's the case.

This front office...while I disagree with a lot they have done over the years... one thing I can't call them is lazy,  unprepared, or not thinking ahead.

They plan, they overanalize....they just make wrong decisions.

As for you... not uncommon that you " read too much into it"  its what you enjoy. Things can't be simple or it's no fun.

I'm sure it's been done this whole time by 32 front offices.

Right,so the "master plan" is 4 stages,so really it's not a master plan, you do the best you can at each stage

So glad he couldn’t lure Sean Payton to Dallas.

Duce Staley leaving the lions to work w/ Reich

Not many places that I’d consider Charlotte an upgrade over city wise. Can’t stay in Detroit though. Terrible!

Dude... what do you think they have been doing?    " massively dig into everything "  " master plan"   I think you fall in love with terminology to make things seem more rocket science.

I'll keep it simple... the front office doesn't play or coach,  their job is about putting together and keeping a roster.  They don't stop working or planning just because they can't or aren't actually signing guys.  They are always planning.  That's their job.

Think I made several points concerning the big original plan and thinking. One was that I’m looking for good cheap options that fit. Good value options also. But was pointing out how a guy could be worth what you’d probably consider overpaying for also. That I feel all positions effect each other.

In other words...the planning has already started.   We are past that.   Once the season ends they review, get the coaches involved.  And then start the action.

Why is it not obvious that things are planned?   Does anyone on here think they just wing it?  This particular over analytical franchise... winging it is the opposite of what they do.    It's different than me disagreeing with their decisions...but I never think they don't make moves without putting in the analysis or over analysis first.

I’m other words you agree with me but were just being contrary for that sake?

Sounds like Wright's going to go in the 1st. Steelers interested in him.

I didn’t give 200 words about facing the Packers. Just started with how there are a million reasons to prefer the top seed. Then explained how I got doubts about Gannon D scheme versus a hot ARod. Felt it was just worth a discussion. Something that nobody had talked about at all. Nothing fantastic of a topic. Just one post thought. That I never said I preferred.

I will admit I have always liked DJ Moore

He was my guy…that draft. Thought he brought that element we were lacking also.

The following players would have been non-participants had the Eagles practiced today:

OG Landon Dickerson (elbow, resting player)
OT Lane Johnson (groin, resting player)
CB Avonte Maddox (toe, resting player)
C Cam Jurgens (hip, resting player)
DE Robert Quinn (foot, resting player)

Don’t worry about this too much. The Eagles’ including a rest designation for all those players is significant and, barring additional injury, they still expect to have all 22 starters available for Super Bowl LVII vs. the Chiefs on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona.

I think they’ve been doing close to what I’ve been explaining clearly

I like that you added others in now too. Not just hyper focusing on Sanders versus CGJ.

Lol... dude you must really think people are idiots ...they have to say every obvious thing for you to think they already know?

It's cold in winter.. I'm assuming everyone agrees without having to chime in.  Of course there are more decisions than Sanders and CGJ.  I'm just giving you my opinion on those guys.  Sticking to the specific conversation.

See that's my style.   If we are talking about one thing...I like to talk about that one thing.  I assume everyone agrees with the obvious stuff.

The " I was the only one on here...etc."  when it's the obvious stuff it doesn’t need everyone chiming in does it?   I agree with 99 % of what you post... I don't need to chime in on it if it's obvious.

I will pay CGJ market value, or a little over if necessary.  I won't pay Sanders probably even half of what he will get, because in the first case I don't think I can find the replacement thst easy while I know I can find a cheaper replacement for Sanders. I've seen not only this years team, but the effects of having Dawkins, Jenkins and CGJ compared to not having that player.   It's not worth the nitpicking of the $ if it's  close.

I'll nitpick at RB.

I also was not contemplating any option EVER to not get the top seed.

Those 3 things I have strong opinions.  I also absolutely 100% think there would have been no chance to have CGJ and Dax Hill BOTH on the roster.  I don't care if it's luck ,master plan, or whatever...the Saints trade was absolutely an easy decision.

Those things I strongly feel thst way about.   The little obvious complaints... I agree with almost all if them, except I think Sipposs is better than the current punter because he avoids the big mistake.   But I don't feel the need to keep harping on it,especially during the one season in my lifetime where everything went absolutely the most smoothly ever.

22 starters starting in the SB after 17 games where we should have won all of them...and 2 blowouts in the playoffs without my QB1 or RB1 having to do much...really WR1 didn't do much either.

In no season that we have witnessed, have things gone this smoothly for the Eagles.  It's not the time to keep harping on all the little flaws. We know they are there.  Vs KC...the QB who is getting the monster contract needs to show up... that's more important than the little issues.

I think so too. I don't think it needed to be explained.  Bottom line, it's their job.

Paying a guy top dollar is always a huge factor.

Just seems like not going out on se crazy limb to think CGJ calling out Philly the way he did means we aren’t his top choice.
