IMO…there are a few types of backup qbs:

Failed highly drafted starters on a rehab stint: ex, Sam Darnold.

Over the hill former starters who have produced in the league: ex Flacco.

Young mid/later draft picks getting coached up by the team that drafted them.

Spot starters who have played well in stretches but aren’t going to get a real opportunity: Fitzpatrick, Foles, Tyrod Taylor.

IMO, Hurts doesn’t even slot into one of these categories.  I do think his mobility will make him a disruptive backup qb for in game emergencies. I would not want him as a backup to actually start a few games.  He’s just too miserable as a passer and other backups will be better there.

I would say hes an ideal backup for the Ravens - as in you could add a "system backup” category

I maintain that it was the most idiotic move I have ever seen to take Hurts in the 2nd with all the needs the team had after giving Wentz that freaking contract.

That is a special kind of stupid. Around that stupidity is littered heaps of failed high end draft picks with other players the Eagles should have selected excelling elsewhere.

The Super Bowl was lightning in a bottle like the 93 Phillies. At least the Eagles won.

Reagor will be gone very soon.  He combines disappointing production with a seemingly bad attitude and unlikeable personality.

JJAW sucks but he does so pleasantly and with great effort on ST.

If you are a first or second round pick and royally suck but keep your head down and work hard, you’ll generally finish out your rookie deal no matter how bad you are.

I don’t think Reagor reaches the end of his contract here.

I think he’s back next year. Unless he somehow morphs into being a consistent WR, I tend to think he winds up being deal after his third year to a team willing to take a chance on him on his last year of his contract.

Pretty funny hearing Joe Judge right now credit Reid for his "in-game adjustments" 😆

Works fairly well for the Ravens.

If he were a backup to a team with a prolific passer who got injured mid game, he could be an effective wild curve ball for defenses simply by running around like crazy.

Give any defense a week to prepare for his pathetically limited passing arsenal, and it’s going to be a rough week on offense.

Who in the blue hell has argued to keep reagor? He averages 30 yards receiving per game over 19 games in his career. At this moment that pick looks like a bust too.

the eagles will refused to accept it until they have no other choice like JJAW when it becomes more reasonable due to salary to actually cut him. They actually save 1.2 mil when they cut JJAW in 2022. If they did it this year they have more dead money hit then cap savings. Reagor’s rookie contract makes it even harder. He gives them no cap savings (to cut him) unless he’s traded next offseason and even then the cap savings is 13.5k compared to 3.6 dead money

I was going to say.....who is praising Reagor?  I think most of us here consider him a disappointment at the least while some have already referred to him as a bust.  He might be better served being like the Wanker Football Team's Gibson who was a WR in college at Memphis (though I think he did start at RB then moved to WR), but plays RB in the NFL.  He might make a decent 3rd down change of pace RB better than he will as a WR.

Plus, I think many here are lamenting that we could have had Jefferson instead so have at least a slight bias towards Reagor.  He doesn't help himself with his vague tweets and negative vibe.  I think he's the type that just doesn't get Philly, kind of like Billy Wagner who thought the fans were booing him when the radar gun said 99MPH instead of 100 when they were booing the radar gun.  Some folks just don't get us.  Sucks to be them.

I guess any reference to Reagor that doesn't include 'bust', it must be praise.

Lol

I have faith in Reagor to turn it around. I think he’d be putting up better numbers if we had even an average QB, but that goes for every receiver on our team.

Really surprised by how much Von Miller fetched.  Time for us to start selling off assets.

thanks to brandon everything is way over priced, even old LB'ers

Our WR production is definitely hampered.  We have 3 guys that can go deep and a QB that can't dream of executing the pass. This may be because he too busy running around in circles in the backfield.

Journalism was once an honoured profession, even a calling.  Now it's a F'ing shiteshow.

I need new tires for my SUV. It used to be, back in the Pleistocene, that you had about a dozen choices. Now it seems like there are 200 choices.

I have narrowed it down to Cooper Enduramax, Continental Cross Contact, and Pirelli Scorpion.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Scorpions all the way. Those continentals come stock on the audi q5 and they suck in snow/rain

Which of these passes qualify as a 'crosser'?

Considering he missed seeing the wide open TE (DG) on the first third down of the game directly in front of him on a crosser and opted to essentially throw it away into tight coverage 'downfield' IDK.

I take whatever they tell me to buy... and am grateful to not have it plague my thoughts.

I don't think most of these people know what they are talking about.   Vilma said when Hurts stays in the pocket, goes through his progressions, he's as good as it gets... and I kept wondering if he's watching the same game I am.

I mean, I probably agree with you with respect to journalism as a whole.  But the complaints here are centered on sports journalism.

It’s sports.  Almost zero social impact, and when there is, the real journalists step in anyway.  Sports journalists are journalists in the way that the people who twirl those ribbons are olympians.

Do it.

Will he be a DT or DE after everything shakes out?

Yes

I think it’s funny Hurts pump faked after he basically crossed the first down marker and that’s like not even in the top 3 dumb things he did yesterday
