Smith is open in the back of the end zone.  The pocket is sound, but you see Hurts starting to look to escape, which he eventually does.  Execution.

Hurts trusts hid legs more than his arm and the receiver to make the catch.

Context does not equal excuses. Man coverage is significantly more difficult than zone coverage. There’s a reason why teams play more of it. There aren’t a lot of corners who travel with No. 1s either.

And I’m not sure Slay is in a more comfortable position. He’s not really a zone corner. Kudos to him for making a smooth transition, at least through four games.

Hes paid to be effective In that role and he was not.

He stated I think last year that he does better when he can face the QB and read and react. whether that's in off man or zone.

Schwartz of course had him playing trail man with his back to the QB all year, which obviously he struggled with.

Like I said he's been ok this year, but he's paid to be more than ok.

His contract amount is also an indicator to the lack of competent corners in the league.

Can't find it, but there was an article showing that CBs are being pushed up draft boards like QBs (not as much, but similarly).  The miss rate is going up.

This city CRUSHED Wentz every chance they could for his "happy feet" and Hurts does it just as much.

Listening to Cosell today with Fran Duffy he mentions an issue with running or even really mobile QBs is keeping their eyes down at the pass rush and not keeping them downfield.   Vick did it, Lamar Jackson and Hurts both do it.  He did mention the quick plays that Siriani called and how much it helped Hurts get into a nice rhythm. Teams that press the Eagles WR’s and try to take away the short stuff could be major problems, like the Cowboys.

I was never beating the table for Slater.  Not sure where that came from.  I was more beating the table for no drafting a ball catcher in the first round.  Again.  I would have never thought he’d go in the top half of the draft.

I’m pretty sure we had a convo that slater may Very be the best available player on the board at 12 leading up to the draft. Where it wouldn’t be the sexy pick but very well the best pick and a value pick for the oline where he could play both guard and tackle.

1) He was effective last year outside of a couple of games.

2) He’s been much better than OK this year.

Herbig is no longer fat and Driscoll did surprisingly well at RT after being switched there after warming up at RG.

Considering the odd circumstances I think they played really well.

Driscoll is giving off Herremann vibes in terms of play, but fragile.

Yup.  The Pitts/Chase/Waddle/Smith discussion was replaced with Slater/Surtain/Horn.

And a pick we could have made it if we were not drafting to fix the continual mistakes made at WR.

He's a baller and I think he could be clutch. We've not been able to truly see yet though unfortunately.

Dillard had 3 penalties but didn't give up any sacks, he looked really quick out in space and to the second level but once there blocked no one.

I hope Dillard keeps facing fastballs until the trade deadline (I figure Brian Burns is a favorable matchup in this regard, although he's certainly a better test than Frank Clark's backup).

I'm not over the top on Hurts as he left a bunch of routine plays on the field, specifically in the RZ - but I looking at the rookie QBs (some with quite a high pedigree) and he seems to be doing OK in comparison.

So he's the tallest midget.

Man, if Dillard takes this opportunity to really solidify himself as the LT, with Mailata at RT, we could be set at Tackle for a legit decade. Gonna need to draft a Guard or two relatively high though.

If he plays the KC defense every week, he'll be head and shoulders above that group.

They only started 4 games! They can get better! We can't judge them unless it fits our narrative!!!

I'm still concerned that he'll get Winston Justiced by a DE with a good balance of speed/power.

Well...not sure when Mailata returns.  You'd hope this week.  The Lane situation is still up in the air.  It may actually be Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT sooner than you think.

Apparently Dickerson had the 4th highest run block ranking of any IOL, it was on only 10 running plays so take it for what it's worth.

It's too bad he fell down on that kick out of Parsonz - I was lookin forward to seeing that guy trucked.
