Lots of guys in the NFL who suck and get paid a lot and don't get cut after 4 games.

I mean how many eagles this year suck and are over paid?

Cowboys took a 7 million cap hit this year and 9 more in dead money next year.

Can't imagine a team taking that on after 4 games just because he sucks, I mean he may suck and now the cowboys will pay him to not suck for them, either way they're still paying him so why cut him?

As previous poster said he must of done something whack or maybe his knee is toast, but If that were the case couldn't the cowboys have worked out an injury settlement?

Seems more logical that he did something the team wasn't a fan of.

Maybe Chip Kelly will release a report of his gang affiliations🤔

They were trying to trade him all offseason and couldn’t. He has injury guarantees in his contract too. They did the smart thing and cut their losses instead of hanging on to him for no reason like we did with Jeffery. He probably has offset language in his contract too.

Be interesting to see what happens and if he or the cowboys give an explanation.

Either way I don't want any part of him

Eagles don't need anymore undersized off ball LBs with bad instincts that can't get off a block.

Smith’s instincts have apparently been really bad, guessing a lot. He runs fast though.

So he would fit well next to Davion Taylor

I guarantee this. Everyone, and I mean literally everyone, that wants him would want him cut after 3 games.

If we had an attacking defense where we could just blitz them and shoot gaps, they’d be a fun duo in between all the big plays we’d give up.

Alas, we like to sit back 8 yards off the ball and catch ball carriers.

See what the Eagles are paying Jeffery and Malik Jackson this year and next to not suck here anymore.

There really is no downside to bringing in a talent like Jaylon Smith as bad as might be given how bad our LBs are.  At least even at 26 he has more upside than any other LB on the roster.

Howie is such a clown.😡

LB is a position based on instincts. We ask our guys to read and react, not attack. He’s an awful fit.

He's hit his ceiling, he is what he is, which isn't very good.

Look at your username…

How are you going to go after anyone living in the past?  You're obsessed with Foles.

Smith has offset language, so any money we give him helps the Cowboys too.

Looks like he fits in here just fine to me

Honestly though, if we signed him I’d be all "man, he’s got some untapped potential Gannon can unlock!”

And then three weeks later I’d be done with him like Eric Wilson.

Yeah, agreed. I'd be fine with bringing him in for the vet minimum. Expectations would be minimal though.

That's all there is to fix?

We don’t sign real LB’s we sign guys like Alex Singleton a guy who wouldn’t be on a practice squad anywhere else like Gerry.

I had to read it twice to make sure they were talking about someone who actually plays football.

He can mentor Davion Taylor.
