There's only two people that need to "settle in" and they both work at NovaCare.

I feel like those guys have. Everyone else are the ones up in arms with their choices.

With the weak QB draft class, and so many teams needing a QB, I think we could get a kings ransom for Hurts. With that said, I think Hurts needs one more real WR (hopefully DK), and we will see much better results. I am kinda curious what he could fetch though.

Let other teams reach for QBs, dropping defensive talent for Howie. Hopefully he won't screw it up.

3rd, at best.  He hasn't done anything to date to offset his original grades and still looks like a limited QB in action.  Maybe someone would reach, but remember that Howie wouldn't be in the crowd over-bidding this time.

Howie needs to trade up for Malik.. Move on from our gimmick QB and start developing a real offense.

Hope he nails it or else

Someone mentioned that maybe Howie should trade Hurts, IMHO that might not be so bad, in fact in might be a genius move if the plan is to get a true franchise-level QB in the future.

The Eagles are in rebuild mode, and a team like this doesn't need 2 average "starter level" QBs like Hurts and Minshew. (note that I put that in quotes since I regard both of them at around the same level, ie can start for any NFL team but will not get you anywhere). We're not playing for anything this year.

If we are truly building for the future, it actually makes sense to trade one of them for future draft picks.

Some good points.  They should trade the Wildcat QB.  Minshew can run an NFL offense, as designed.  The problem would be finding a team interested in Hurts.

No problem of trading Hurts this off-season.  The problem is where the franchise-level QB.  This draft is not stacked with that.  FA market does not offer many choices of up and coming QB.  The proven QB with some more years of playing time will cost a lot to trade.

Better off to play the guys already here.  Use this off season to build the roster adding skill offensive weapons and defense.  With that in place just plug in a top QB to take it to the top.

Regardless of what they do, unless they end up really bad/tanking next season, the Eagles will eventually have to pay a pretty penny to get their QB.

Build the team now then mortgage the future (i.e. the Rams) to get the guy to take them to the next level.

That's pretty much their only option unless they do poorly enough to get a high pick next year, get lucky on some mid round QB flyer, sign some journeyman QB that turns out to be better than expected (i.e. Tannehill), or Hurts miraculously steps up his game. It seems pretty unlikely that they'll be able to trade some of their first round picks this year for first round picks next year as this draft seems to be deeper and not as top heavy as some drafts and next year's draft is QB heavy at the top so picks will be at a premium.

On the other hand, I think we can get AT LEAST a 3rd for Minshew:

"In two years in Jacksonville, Minshew went 8-14 with 37 touchdown passes and just 11 interceptions. He went 6-6 after Foles was benched in 2019. Overall, his 93.9 passer rating is 18th-highest in NFL history (minimum 500 attempts"

You hold out for some training camp/preseason/early season injuries at QB and see if you can get a 2nd for him before the deadline.  As a QB even a low end journeyman QB chance to start on bad team contract he will sign in FA would likely fetch a 3rd comp pick.

Yeah the reason I think Minshew might have more trade value is because he can fit in almost any team. On the other hand Hurts with his limited passing skills can only work on a team with a decent running game and can win games in other ways.

The Eagles traded a 6th last year.  What makes you think a team would give a 3rd round pick for him now?  That's absurd.  Ertz got a 5th and a scrub player.

I dunno, maybe the Jags were idiots? Or somehow Howie is just able to pull off these amazing trades. A lot of experts around the league think that it was an incredible steal.

Not saying you are wrong on Minshew but, when do skill positions ever really fetch a lot? Especially on the other side of 30?

I think receivers and TE are getting running back treatment these days. They are becoming more and more easily replaceable and better then giving those guys those ridiculous contracts

Sure. But Minshew was bought for a 6th last year...what would make him get a 3rd all of a sudden?

I'm not sure what you can really get for either guy.  One isn't a remotely polished QB and the other hasn't played significant minutes for years.  I tend to see more teams lurking around Minshew because he has the ability to operate a traditional NFL offense, but so much of it depends on immediate need.

Desperation. The whole premise I believe was IF a team has their QB go down with injury, Minshew could fetch a high pick. I mean, Fing Sam Bradford landed the Eagles a 1st.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Malik Willis had as many rushing attempts as completed passes last year. Our offense wouldn’t change a whole lot with him on the field.

Haha really? Good luck Pittsburgh if he's going to be their starter.
