Quoting that song just made his knee 10 percent healthier.

I love a talented QB with something to prove. He needs to put in a lot of work and hopefully going undrafted makes him the first one in the door at 5 am and the last one to leave.

I know we're excited to get highly rated UDFA.

But, didnt we have a shot to pick them in the first place?

We couldn't take them all, but one or two where we actually had picks?

This is like when they traded for Gowan and Vincent last year and supposedly loved them so much they continued to pass on them repeatedly.

We can mix up the punctuation and have some fun.

Daniel Jones had an "empty field, trips".

Maybe not, looking like we may be going to more of a 3-4 look to the defense.

Not sure though because we dont really have those type of DEs.

Sweat probably shouldnt have been paid so much if he isnt going to get to rush the passer. Its a poor fit for Graham and Barnett.

Your only true rush LB is Reddick. Maybe Sweat can play the other one? Or else you may be looking at starting Kyron Johnson.

I dont think its going to be a pure 3-4. Looks like theyre just getting more personnel to run Gannon's 4-3 under the way it needs to be run. Or, as Honest NFL mentioned the 5-1

I've been pulling for Strong all day.

If Hurts wants the job, he should earn it.

He did.  He became the youngest QB in franchise history to take this team to the playoffs and did so in his first season as starter . He is your 2022 starting QB.  Strong will not be competing for the starting job, he will be fighting for a roster spot.

I think we may need to revisit this.  Not sure if we are going to be fielding traditional 4-3 DEs as this defense evolves.

Riddick and now Johnson and the other standup / SAM types sort of point to a different scheme, thus different personnel requirement.

yes. that is clear. But you have Sweat and Milton Williams who fit that. And their backups?

Need more. We knew that going in to the draft.

I was looking for Brugler’s write up on Blankenship, but he was his 46th safety and had nothing on him beyond workout numbers.

Its really puzzling how he was buzzing last year. Stayed in school, and then was completely forgotten about this entire year.

They played a 3-4/5-2 all last year. Besides when they were in nickel.

What he really needs is a chance.  Can we get Jeff Gillooly on the phone?

Graham shouldn't be here beyond this year.  Same with Barnett.  BUT... Sweat, yup... seems a poor fit and they are locked in.

Its not just the arm.

He has an NFL head. Its reading the D. Changes at the line. Going through progressions. Making quick decisions and throwing on time. And not turning the ball over.

The guy has the total package as an NFL passer. There is no way he is not going to be a starter if his knee is ok.

Big fan of Blankenship being brought in.

Let them play the games. We'll see what happens.

He's 3rd on the depth chart, and he can't run the offense that Hurts requires as QB1.

BUT... the fact that they targeted Strong so strongly would indicate that they don't want to run the offense that Hurts would flourish in, but rather an actual NFL offense and a legit passing game.

the only rebuttal I can have there is- if you are georgia, and you paid athletes how much would an athlete like Travon Walker be worth to your team? probably still a lot. He didnt have sack production because they werent often rushing the QB without reading first.

It seems we are going back to the philosophy- "play the run on your way to the QB"

LOL, he is so corny with that stuff.  Hurts and AJ Brown are definitely good buddies but the others were all teammates. They like each other but they aren't bffs or anything

I count Goodrich and Jobe as 5th and 6th round picks got lucky to get both.

BTW... that's a throw that Hurts can't make.  Yes, he can throw it 20 yards down field.  But the trajectory?  The timing?  Never seen that from him.

 That perfectly describes Jalen Hurts,

Man, he is a FUN player.  Is he a Nasty Nate or does he have a legit shot as a slot/returner?  He's an elite return man.  Can run circles around Ward and Reagor.
