Either going to extend him at that point or release/trade him (where it’s 8.7 mil in dead money  and would save 28.96 mil)

They are going to restructure him well before that. Don't see him playing in 2024 at $28M

Dat 37m cap hit. Sheesh. Gonna need to extend or cut him before that kicks in.

The Titans were dumb for not making this deal.

Looking at 2024, the cap is projected at 256 million.

We have half of the cap, 128.49 million already allocated to 6 players.  Lane Johnson, AJ Brown, Jordan Mailata, Haason Reddick, Dallas Goedert and Josh Sweat.

Thank goodness we will have a 2nd year starter at QB.

I didn't say everyone or "the blog". Just you guys because it was more than one.

Too late, my feelings are hurt although I would have liked Pickens in the 2nd if they didn't trade for Brown.

Interesting takes on our situation.  Sounds familiar. 6 minute mark sounds like SS posts here.

So I was letting my mind wander a bit and looking at potential projections for the 53 man roster if the season was starting this Sunday (obviously there will most likely be a lot of changes between now and then). Here's what I came up with (spots with a "/" indicate I'm torn on who wins the spot):

OFFENSE [25]

QB[3]: Jalen Hurts, Gardner Minshew, Carson Strong

RB[4]: Miles Sanders, Kenny Gainwell, Boston Scott, Kennedy Brooks

WR[5]: AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Quez Watkins, Zach Pascal, Jalen Reagor/Greg Ward

TE[3]: Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Jack Stoll

LT[2]: Jordan Mailata, Andre Dillard

LG[2]: Landon Dickerson, Sua Opeta/Kayode Awosika

C[2]: Jason Kelce, Cam Jurgens

RG[2]: Isaac Seumalo, Jack Driscoll

RT[2]: Lane Johnson, LeRaven Clark

DEFENSE [24]

DE [4]: Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Derek Barnett, Tarron Jackson

DT [4]: Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Javon Hargrave, Milton Williams

LB [6]: Haason Reddick, Nakobe Dean, Kyzir White, TJ Edwards, Davion Taylor, Kyron Johnson

CB [5]: Darius Slay, Zech McPhearson, Avonte Maddox, Tay Gowan/Mario Goodrich/Josh Jobe, Tay Gowan/Mario Goodrich/Josh Jobe

S [5]: Anthony Harris, Marcus Epps, K'von Wallace, Andre Chachere, Kary Vincent/Jared Mayden

ST [4]

K: Jake Elliott

P: Anyone but Siposs

LS: Rick Lovato

RS: Britain Covey/Devon Allen

I think this roster has a chance to win the East and probably fall flat on it's face in the wildcard round. We've improved our offensive skill players, solidified the Oline, and drastically improved our front 7. We're thin in the secondary for sure, especially at S (I've projected a conversion of Kary Vincent to compete at FS) and also at DE (though the Reddick/Johnson spot will obviously pass rush a lot, as will Dean and I expect to see more Milton at DE). There are going to be so many variations they can use in the front 7, I'm excited to see that the most only behind AJ Brown.

I think RB needs improvement

Sanders, Gainwell and Scott are locks. There may be a guy or 2 who shake loose that could improve that foursome more than Kennedy Brooks. Agreed.

Mike Davis?

He's 29...I'd rather Brooks or Howard TBH.

Shannon Sharpe is pretty spot on with his take.

So it's essentially a 4 year, $70M deal with $8.5M dead money in 2026. As the cap rises $20M a year.

Some other bigger guys still available: Alex Collins, Wayne Gallman, Jordan Howard, Darrel Williams, Kalen Ballage, Buddy Howell, Corey Clement. All younger than Davis.

Howie's riding high right now. Wonder if something else big is coming or if he's just ecstatic over draft weekend.

Not exactly a hot take, watching clips of college linebackers is fun. In this case Dean. He’s everywhere

Just excitement. We're not winning a championship this year, next year neither, barring something huge like Brady signing here.

Fitting. He’s right once in a blue moon too.

BREAKING: The Philadelphia Eagles have traded WR Jalen Reagor, WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside, RB Miles Sanders and OT Andre Dillard to the Indianapolis Colts for RB Jonathan Taylor.

Nuts. That’s just amazing.

I wonder if we could try and pry Trey Sermon from SF. It's odd they drafted him in the first place as he doesn't really fit Shanahan's style, and they barely used him last year, and likely won't use him this year (they drafted another RB, maybe even 2). He'd be a nice fit here.

Before our SB season I had a worse feeling about the roster than I do now.

OFFENSE [25]

QB[2]: Jalen Hurts, Gardner Minshew, Carson Strong Not that I want them to but I think Minshew gets traded if/when a vet gets injured.  Strong as the lone backup is risky but carrying 2 QBs helps with other positions.

RB[4]: Miles Sanders, Kenny Gainwell, Boston Scott, Kennedy Brooks This is such an uninspiring RB room.  I liked Brooks in college but he's not offering much at the pro level.  I'd love to see them add a younger veteran.

WR[6]: AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Quez Watkins, Zach Pascal, Jalen Reagor/Greg Ward Britain Covey.  He's my early Nasty Nate but he's an elite return man.  He has value.

TE[3]: Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Jack Stoll Tyree Jackson- He offers a different skillset than the rest and a huge body.  I think he's a near lock.  Stoll is JAG TE that can be stashed

LT[2]: Jordan Mailata, Andre Dillard

LG[2]: Landon Dickerson, Kayode Awosika

C[2]: Jason Kelce, Cam Jurgens

RG[2]: Isaac Seumalo, Jack Driscoll

RT[2]: Lane Johnson, LeRaven Clark Brett Toth.  Clark is what he is.  Toth still has upside and position flexibility.

DEFENSE [24]

DE [5]: Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Derek Barnett, Tarron Jackson, Milton Williams

DT [4]: Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Javon Hargrave, Milton Williams  I listed Milton Williams as DE.  Noah Ellis is DT4

LB [6]: Haason Reddick, Nakobe Dean, Kyzir White, TJ Edwards, Davion Taylor, Kyron Johnson

CB [5]: Darius Slay, Zech McPhearson, Avonte Maddox, Tay Gowan/Mario Goodrich/Josh Jobe, Tay Gowan/Mario Goodrich/Josh Jobe  Andre Chachere.  Just no room for Gowan or the UDFA.  I think all 3 are PS and get called up as needed.

S [5]: Anthony Harris, Marcus Epps, K'von Wallace, Andre Chachere, Kary Vincent, Jared Mayden Reed Blankenship.  He's a drag down tackler but the guy is smooth as they come and a ballhawk.  Listed Chachere as a CB.  Wallace has shown nothing in his time here.  Mayden has bee mentioned a few times.  Coaches like him.

Edited what I see fit.  Not too many changes.

I'm not a fan of the running backs at all.

I think RB is weak as well. I have Covey/Allen competing at RS under Special Teams. Toth over Clark is probably the right move. Jackson I believe will start on PUP. Stoll to PS when he's back. Ellis could definitely make the squad to be backup NT. And I don't know how, but I freaking completely forgot Blankenship, I absolutely think he makes the roster. He's my nasty Nate!

I guess its a good thing we don't have a QB.
