Bo Jackson's YPC would have him fifth on the all time list if not for a freak injury that ruined his career. This is while also playing two sports.

Stupid sexy McCown!

I can't think of many guys who played both baseball and football at the highest level, and played both at All Star levels. I'm not sure why you think he's overrated. I think most acknowledge he was great, but his career was crippled by a freak injury.

I get that idea, but honestly, with our cap issues, I'd rather allocate those resources elsewhere. Even if it's league minimum, no thanks.

Honestly not sure he’s getting that much more than that considering he got busted for PEDs then had a hand injury where he played like 1-2 games the following season right after.

I wonder if both DeVonta Smith and Landon Dickerson looking as good as they did as the Eagles first two picks will motivate Howie to lean toward going with SEC players with the high picks again this time around?

This is another example of you put your foot in your mouth, got called out and then started spewing nonsense.

He never had a 1,000 yard season.

Now, provide me one actual fact why he is overrated and then I will respond.

Yeah... money is a major factor, no one has denied it.  As is playing time, offensive style and teammates (both QB and depth chart).  That's the point.  Hurts and the style required are going to require fewer passing attempts for the team as a whole, which will correlate with fewer targets for the individual.

If you want to say "QB is a tie-breaker", I agree with that.

I love DJ Chark, but I do think he's a bad fit for Hurts.

And if 'all things being equal' (aka, money), WRs will go elsewhere, which means that in order to overcome those other factors it will cost more to add the WR.

Let's take that OBJ situation you referenced... Why would OBJ choose one LA team over the other?   Money wasn't even a factor you brought up.  Clearly its not the piece that you say it is.  Assuming equal money, the WRs will go elsewhere, which means that in order to overcome those other issues, the Eagles would have to overpay... so that the money can trump that.   Which is the problem I pointed out.

Yep.  Quez Watkins was our #2 WR in targets.  Those targets ranked him 98th in targets in the league.   No WR is coming here if they have better options.

Well he was injured playing football.  I am not so sure he would have been a HOF in baseball.  He came into the MLB 2 years older but the same year as Bonds.  He hit 30 HRs before Bonds did and 100+ RBIs 3 seasons before Bonds.  You have to wonder if would have ended up in the discussion.  Undoubtedly his numbers would be tarnished by the steroid legacy of the era.

We can only hope.

Didnt win ROY. Never won a superbowl, never won an Mvp.

*IF* he stayed healthy, could of been the best ever, but he was a flash in the pan and the biggest what if ever.

He got immortalized because of a Nintendo game.

Mike Rozier, by all accounts was a huge bust had more rushing yards than bo in those 4 season, more catches than bo in those 4 season, more passing yards, more tochddowns etc etc

He's more of a myth than he is a football player. People remember him for these flash in the pan but when you look at the numbers, and what he did and his injuries he was good, not great

It's just a remarkable thing to play a professional sport, statistically speaking.  To play two, simultaneously, at a pretty high level, is memorable.   He's remembered for being statistically remarkable.  It's difficult to be overrated when you occupy the .000001% of people on the planet to have played football and baseball professionally.

Don't feed the troll @Bacarty2.  Clearly, he is just trying to get people riled up with his ridiculous statement.

Go back and watch A Football Life on Bo Jackson.  He was a freak of nature and a legendary athlete.  Broke the SEC record for rushing yds at the time, won the Heisman, turned pro at 2 sports, supplanted one of the greatest RBs of all time in Marcus Allen and had a great YPC average.  Again, who knows how great he would have been if he hadn't gotten hurt.

Agreed, its all conjecture because we have no idea what could have been. What if he only played football? What if he didnt get hurt?

But listen, Mike Rozier was in more games, because he wasn't splitting is focus between two different professional sports. In those 3 years Rozier played 38gms + started 35. Bo played in 28 + started 23. The YPC does not lie, the tape doesnt lie... dont prop Mike freaking Rozier up against Bo Jackson like they are even on the same level.

To be fair, I am not one of the ones who buys into the mythos of Bo as one of the GOAT running backs. Is he one of my faves? Sure. But there are too many unknowns. I do think he was a very good RB at minimum with that asterisk. If he had stayed healthy and focused on football I see his production as starting at that Jamaal Charles level (which is a very good running back).

The one thing I don't question is whether or not Bo Jackson is one of the greatest athletes of all time. He is, guys like him don't come around very often.

3 of his 4 seasons, with no training camp, after the grind of the MLB season, he walked in the door week 7 and finished with more rushing yards than hall of famer Marcus Allen who played more games than him in 3 of those 4 seasons.

His YPC rank 2nd all time behind only Marion Motley.

Let's go @Bacarty2, I already called you out for sticking your foot in your mouth with the nonsense 1000 yard season post.  Provide us some facts that Bo is overrated.

I'd rather him list the hundreds of players that have had 2 1000 yard seasons.  Come on Bacarty!  Man up!

Interesting:

10. I keep hearing people tell me how Jalen Hurts inflated his stats against bad teams and struggled against good teams. So instead of taking their word for it, I thought I’d check the numbers. And here’s what I found: In eight games vs. losing teams, Hurts had an 88.3 passer rating, and in seven games vs. winning teams he had an 86.2 passer rating. His completion percentage was a lot higher vs. losing teams (64.3 percent to 58.3 percent), but his TD-to-INT ratio was better against winning teams (8-3 vs. 8-6). He averaged 5.1 yards per rush vs. winning teams with 6 TDs and 6.3 vs. winning teams with 4 TDs. So much for that theory.

Measurements season!

Another idiotic statement.  Yes, Rozier had 195 more yards than Bo over those 4 seasons.  He also had 216 more carries and played in 16 more games.

For once in your troll life, take the L on this or I am going to go full scorched earth on you just like the Reggie Brown debacle.

Now see what it is without the garbage time stats against the cowboys, chiefs, raiders and Bucs games out.

so how great can I be if he was hurt, thanks for backing up my point. OVERRATED!

Not sure how Bo being injured in a playoff game has any bearing on your idiotic statement about a guy having 195 more yards than Bo with 216 more carries and 16 more games to work with.

Please explain as you have yet to make a valid point.

Hey guys that Michael Jordan guy. What an overrated basketball player.

And into the trap of arguing with a troll they all fall.
