The offense finally does something and claws their way back into the game after a stinker by their ace, then the BP IMMEDIATELY gives them the lead right back roll This team is perfecting the art of sucking ass - it's really quite impressive

7 runs!?!?! In this economy

image.gif

Big spot in this game thankfully we had the option of Felix Reyes or Dylan Moore hitting cleanup..

They barely lost, so that's something.

They also wasted a (poor) start from the ace and a 7 run explosion, which basically eliminates their scoring and pitching potential for the next week.

Phillies officially have the worst record in MLB (tied with 1 other team) and the worst run differential (alone by far).

They are, officially, at this moment in time, the worst team in baseball through 25 games.

I didn't expect them to make the playoffs this year (we discussed this). But it is early and I do expect them to play some measure of winning baseball at some point this year...maybe even good enough to enter the playoff discussion and have a near-ish miss.

But if this keeps up....in order to accelerate a more complete, more structurally elegant rebuild...I would absolutely consider sending some mid-level prospects with true value (but non foundational guys) along with our aging big contract "stars" at the deadline to get their contracts off the books now.

Miller, Painter, Crawford, Wood, Renteria....they stay. Everyone else? Worth less than eliminating Harper/Turner/Schwarber/Nola contracts.

I think gotta trade Sanchez, wheeler and Duran if they are just simply this bad. They’ll get a nice package for those guys to help a rebuild. I’d try to see if another team would also take on luzardo, Keller as well. I’d take whatever could get for Garcia, Stott, Bohm, Sosa and marsh. Have 3 in Atlanta id be shocked if we win a game in Atlanta with how we are playing right now. So could be 12 games under .500 on a 12 game losing streak. Season is essentially over cause not getting out of that hole even if we have 5 months left. Basically would have to play around .650 baseball to make the postseason and guys would also have to stay healthy

No crap

Imagine the embarrassment hosting the all star game and your stupid $ all in team is in last place

Holy crap and now they go to Atlanta for another series? roll What's the record for the longest losing streak in MLB history - at this point that's what I'm rooting for lol

So over the past 3 years, the wild card teams have had 92, 90, 83, 93, 89, 89, 90, 84, and 84 wins. Let's say to be safe that they need to get to 88 wins to get a wild card berth - that means they need to go 80-57 the rest of the way. Just don't see it.

Also - the Phillies already have the record for the longest losing streak in the modern era - 23 games

Should have known <_<

Probably a good time to mention that moniak in 19 games is hitting .324/.347/.750/1.097 with 8 HRs and 15 RBI

Also crazy that yordan Alvarez is leading the AL in avg, OBP, slugging, ops, HR, hits and RBI. yet the Astros are 10–16

Bold prediction, somebody’s getting fired on Monday (off day) if the Phillies lose this series to the Braves and don’t look competitive

no chance they do that the rest of the way... I'd be surprised if they even finish .500 at this point. They're cooked.

If they Thomson then they should allow cotham to be the manager. Get a couple months of data about him as a manager. I don’t need to see dusty or mattingly

You know they'd give it to Mattingly though

Yup which is dumb. Should be cotham to see what he is as a manager. We know what mattingly is
