You do realize the last 20 years still includes utley , rollins, howard and hamels? Also quite a bit more. Maybe the last 10 years you have a point.

I was counting their debut. They all came up and were produced by the system over 20 years ago.

Oh ok that makes sense then

Turner isn’t worth the $300 mil contract. But he’s hitting .310. We could use some more power from him but I’d argue his hitting this year has been what we’d probably want and expect from him. His defense still sucks

Him just looking to make contact has made him way more dangerous then trying to crank home runs

Great time to unload Walker, and maybe some idiot team will take Turner, they won't do it but Walker is going to implode and Turner is just having a nice stretch that will not last

Yep. Honestly, KS could bring them a massive haul as well. Instead they will lose him for nothing and be out in the WC round. If they were smart, which they aren't, they'd clear some salary and get even more talent in the system to speed up the rebuild that is coming.

I said this last year that if they move them into the leadoff spot might help him realize he doesn’t need to hit for as much power. I like that Thomson told him just to get on base. It’s true he will have a easier time living up to the contract. What was happening with him was he gets into the streaks where he hits like 7-8 homers in like 2 weeks and then can’t hit for like 3-4 weeks because he’s trying to replicate that. We don’t need him to be a great power hitter. We need him to get on in front of Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber. If he and Stott gets on at the clip they are, then we are going to be able to consistently score runs if our big guys come through.

That strategy seems to be taking off the last few series. I hope it lasts, only reason this season pulled me back in is because they changed the lineup to what it should have been.

Walker is notorious for falling off in the second half. I still think he’ll eventually drop off from where he’s at. He’s had a great schedule of Teams he’s faced so far.

I doubt Turner hits .310ish but i do think he can hit .285-290 and OBP around 350-360. The issue with Turner has been he goes into prolonged slumps after he gets into a HR streak. If he and Stott just get on base the Harper and schwarber can do serious damage. They don’t need great power out of Turner. Frankly they need another RH power hitter like a Rhys

Tbh if Stott and Turner can get on base like they have and continue it then it makes harper and schwarber really dangerous. Imo the thing the Phillies are missing is a RH power bat. If you had a Rhys hitting behind schwarber and could move casty down to 7th with Kepler in front of him then your lineup is what they envisioned in 2023 before Rhys got hurt.

I want Kyler Tucker this offseason but they have a ton of LH hitters if they also re-sign schwarber.

First time the Phillies have scored 7 or more runs in 4 consecutive games since 4/17-4/21 of last year.

I agree hopefully they can snag a decent righty batter at the deadline but im not holding my breath on that one lol

Would have to be third base or CF. Frankly could probably get arenado from the cardinals. But he’s not the power hitter he once was. I’d say Mullins from the orioles they’d have interest in but he’s a LH hitter. I do wonder if the brewers fall out of the race if they’d consider dealing for Rhys. Use him at 1st. Move Harper to LF and have Kepler play CF it’s not ideal. But Kepler has played some CF this year (not a lot) so it’s why i don’t think it’s completely out of the question.

I thought Harper or Thomson said he isnt going to go to the outfield anymore?

They said that but then they also were in on Pete Alonso during the offseason and Harper said he’d have moved out to OF if they did sign him. Also would be for like 2.5 months as hoskins is a FA at the end of the year

If the Rays are out of it by the deadline I could see us making a run at Fairbanks

Off to a Ok start but likely gets better. If he becomes available I’d consider trading for him. Bohm and others and just let him play 3b. Don’t care if he isn’t great at 3b as neither is Bohm.

Would Middleton add another 300-million-dollar contract? He also apparently has 75 mil deferred until 2043. Not sure how that affects this hypothetical trade.

I think it depends. If they’re willing to go out and spend on Kyle Tucker this off-season then I don’t know why they wouldn’t on him. Problem is he’s a LH hitter and they already have a lefty heavy lineup

Just struck out the #1 prospect in all of baseball on 4 pitches

1 hit, 2K

5K's through 2

Curveball is nasty.

His delivery is so effortless

Lost command of his offspeed stuff in the 3rd and walked 3 but got out of it.

Definitely losing this with Hernandez coming into a 1 run game.
