I hate that they’re probably gonna have that quick "shock to the system” against the Phillies. Honestly I may place some DraftKings wagers on it. On another note, Carlos Mendoza looks like they found him at Lowe’s in the blue apron after he sold me a Samsung washer/dryer bc there was 36 months no interest.

Why have they been so good lately? It can't be just their opponents not being great.Their opponents haven’t actually been bad. In June they’ve played 21 games. 15 of the 21 are against teams at or over .500. Only two they haven’t was in the last week against SF and Texas. Really their pitching has been good for the most part besides the Phillies series and a game or two during this stretch. Giving up 3.2 runs per game over this stretch. If it weren’t for that Phillies series it would be even better at 2.7. Scoring about 4.7 runs a game with is also good. But really feels like their pitching has stepped up from where it had been
June 27Jun 27 I dont give DD much credit these days but kudos to him for the Hill trade. Ive never heard of this guy but damn, so far, hes been incredible.
June 27Jun 27 I’m at a loss for words on Derek Hill’s catch. I mean full speed jump slam into the wall and the ball sticks to the glove somehow. The Phillies just don’t do things like that it’s really nice to see it happen on our end for once. Lmao Derek Hill came from outta nowhere. F you Dave
June 27Jun 27 I love that wheels is throwing 7 inning 1 run games after ending last season with a major medical issue and we have to get excited that nola makes it through 5 innings without giving up 30 runs.

I stand by my opinion that he is absolutely good enough as a 5th starter though an expensive one. Getting a 4th starter before the trade deadline would fully setup the pitching. Add a RF RH bat and we'd have a shot at making an actual run.
