6-6 now

Clearly we need to be buyers. Cause we are fixing an awful bullpen and a bad lineup… about to get swept by a team that just lost 12 in a row

Jeff Conine’s son just hit a home run

He also hit the walk off on Monday

Next year is their year, word series!!

They could easily miss the playoffs and I dont even care at this point. I dont know how else that F'n loser Dombrowski would possibly get canned because Middleton is obsessed with the guy. Then again he's done so much damage already with the unnecessary contracts, bad signings and depleting what little farm system they had I guess it doesnt matter.

They should sell, but they won’t.

I am expecting trades for a 5th starter and RH platoon OF bat.

I’d dump Bohm regardless to shake up the team, and start Sosa at third for the rest of the season.

neto makes sense if you are moving Turner to OF next offseason and he’s your SS or Stott is and he’s your 2B. Has 4 controllable years left in his contract. That said i kind of think he’s overrated. His baseball savant analytics are not great

all these guys are rentals besides Hoffman. All of them are also having down years.

Quit Fing about and sell

the phillies yearly trajectory after the all-star break.

It’s not even about that. It’s about there’s not enough in the farm system to make the team significantly better and the dodgers are going to get skubal. So you are making moves on a team who’s window shut and a team that’s going to potentially get skubal with snell, glasnow and Will smith back and just got Diaz back at closer

IMO, the cold, emotionless thing to do is to go all-in on one of two extremes.

  1. Sell. Acknowledge that this group fell short; gravity has kicked in before they can have any reasonable shot of winning a world series. Sell off aggressively to rebuild a lousy farm system.

  2. Buy hard. The farm system is nearly worthless at this point anyway. Sell the farm, which isn't going to develop into much anyway, for a massive boost to actually give these declining vets one last real chance.

But DD will go with door 3. Trade off a couple pieces of the farm for window dressing...all while not improving the future of the team and simultaneously not giving the present of the team a realistic chance to win.

See this, I agree with you. You should either be a seller or go all in. If you’re just gonna do what you’ve done in the past, you know that’s not gonna make you good enough. So why are you even doing it. You know the endgame to that scenario especially when teams like the Dodgers and Brewers are looking to make big-time splashes. So you’re not gonna beat those teams as is and if they get major pieces you definitely aren’t. Like at least if they went all in and got big time major impact additions it’s trying to go for. Frankly, it’s two or three years late when they should’ve done it. But if you’re not going to do the all in and get those caliber of players then you should be a seller because you’re not helping yourself enough short-term or remotely long-term.

That said I don’t think their farm system has enough for them to go all in and get the guy or guy(s) they want or truly need. I think they’ll get into a bidding war and lose.

sell, sell, sell

I’d offer Painter, Miller, and Wood for Skubal.

If it succeeds, you’ve got something to be excited about and given your roster one last real chance…and all you’ve lost were guys that were years away from helping, if ever.

If it fails, you’ve succeeded in driving up the price for the Dodgers.

already been reported that the Dodgers would give up at least two if not, three prospects that are in the top 25 in all of baseball (believe they have 5). So you’re not beating what their package for skubal is anyways.

Again, if it was realistic that their package could get them a player of that caliber then you’d be more than willing to do it. Not happening as they will get outbid every time. They don’t have the system to do it unless just trade everyone in the system which leaves you with clear holes elsewhere and an even more horrible farm system. And then Skubal walks to the dodgers at year’s end anyway. It’s why i said it’s better to be a seller now cause you don’t have guys to go all in and you just doing what you did besides the Duran trade. which wasn’t good enough especially with a regressing/declining team and better teams in the NL who will add

What i think happens is they settle for varsho and Hoffman as package will be less (or springer). I think they prefer Adell but with extra year left it’s a higher price. I also believe they will attempt to trade for Neto but i don’t think they want to give up what it would cost for a guy who has some big flaws this roster already has. I see them getting a 5th starter unless painter looks good tonight. I kind of think his start tonight is maybe a showcase but also if he pitches well then could see them buying into he could be a fifth starter going forward and they’ll live with the consequences of what he is while address BP and RH hitter

Kind of what i was saying the other day
