Varsho is another lefty. How does he help them? In regard to Hoffman, my lasting memory of him was choking against the Mets in 24 then watching him choke last year in the World Series. Hell yeah Dave, bring that guy back. It'll be different this time.

There were fans wanting to bring Bader back this year. That was one move that Dave got right. I didn't want him back at all, especially after he went down in the playoffs with an oblique injury. Shocker, even before his scooter accident, he missed a chunk of the season because of injury.

Frankly i think varsho is going to be dirt cheap. Imo they’d rather have springer but he isn’t a good fielder anymore. He’s been DH/OF. Varsho can play centerfield.

I wouldn’t go after Hoffman. But I also think he’s gonna be dirt cheap because the Toronto Blue Jays wanna get rid of him and his contract for 2027. And the Phillies were probably think they can get him back to what he was here. And it is defense the last two months he’s actually been good.

I think I said it back in May 2025 before his meltdown. He’s not good in high leverage situations. He progressively gets worse as the season goes on every year. There’s no reason he should be one of your main guys in the bullpen. He’s not good in high leverage. He’s a mental midget.

Like I said, you’re gonna trade prospects for a team that has no chance at winning a World Series. So you’re just making moves to feel better about the fact that well at least we made the playoffs and you just gotta make the playoffs in order to potentially reach the World Series. No you’re not good against good teams. The proof it’s in the pudding. You just don’t wanna believe your windows shut and are willing to make dumb decisions because you don’t wanna believe it. They’ve shown you this is not a good enough team.

He never should have been brought back after that absolute disaster to end the season. F kerkering.

Also fitting that this team has wasted 2 quality starts in a row by their worst starters. I hate pretty much every pitcher that isnt wheeler or sanchez. Actually I like luzardo as well. Duran is fine. F everyone else on that staff

On painter, they are better off just holding onto to him. His value is at a low. You trade him at best you’d get someone like a Kevin Gausman to replace him who’s been better but still not good this year and a FA at years end. While painter may or may not be a bust, he has more value in hoping he learns from this year and turns it around then dealing him for a guy that isn’t changing your fortunes in the postseason and is likely a rental with what his value is.

It was obvious he was going there. There’s already been rumors that he was gonna sign there as a free agent regardless. That’s why the package is kind of underwhelming as other teams weren’t gonna give up that good package knowing that he was just gonna leave in two months and you still aren’t guaranteed to be the best team going into the postseason.
