That was never gonna happen. Frankly, he’s gotten banged up playing first as well. But the fact that people were like we have to move him to first in 2024 otherwise he’s gonna deteriorate and fall apart was ridiculous to me. i get it long-term that’s where you want him. makes sense. One year in left or right field was not going to deteriorate him to the point of where he falls off a cliff especially going all in on this year. Especially if it meant you could bring somebody in to play first for a year that gives you another hitter in the lineup.
