So start yourself week 1. The starter is only the guy that takes the first snap

I agree...the first snap out of 60 or 70 isn't my concern.  Neither is a guy who carries 5 times a game....if he gets 4.3 or 4.6 yards per carry.   1.5 more yards per game isn't my focus.  21.5 yards or 23 yards... not that big of a deal.

More importantly,I need all my RBs contributing.  Zero from RB 3 limits the offense.  Zero pass protection from RB 1 limits having him on the field on 3rd downs.  3rd downs are the game changing plays.

The backfield now.  Finally having RB1 that can play 3 downs.   A 3rd guy that hopefully can touch the ball and allow our team to rush more without forcing all the carries on one guy.

I don't think the mix was good last year with two RBs and the way they were used... both played too many snaps in a row without coming out for a rest.  I want a better rotation,  which hopefully the 3rd guy helps.

You are just arguing to argue. It was being said Gainwell was going to start. It was a known dumb Siri decision.

What is Gainwell's record as a starter?

Has anyone watched DeJean on video?

He turns his hips smoother than anyone i've seen in a long time.

Posted a vid of DeJean playing basketball, plenty of them out there. So fluid. Would like to see him with the ball in his hands.

Ham Hates Gainwell(for whatever reason we have yet to discern) as in one of his posts he failed(or purposely) to mention him as a contributing RB. I like the Shipley kid. Remains to be seen if he will take the relief role for Bark. I think Bark came here because we could give him a rest and not use him EVERY down. Gotta be a little nice perk and maybe why he signed here. NY ran him into the ground, giving him some break will extend the mans career. Despite what Ham thinks I still believe Gains is RB2,but all hell would break loose if he was named the week 1 "starter". I think we should do that just for Ham,whaddya y'all say? 🤣

JMO but I would have liked to have retained Swift. That would remind me of the old Csonka/Kiick days in Miami. I feel Swift and Gains were too similar in style. No need for 3 clones so I can see why Swift went because Gains is still under contract. Anyway Bark is a big improvement over them all including even when we had Sanders who really petered out here in NC. I like Gains for the different style he offers us. Ship should take over the 2 in time, how fast we won;t know for awhile. Above all else there are 2 things I would love to see.1)Hurts play as a pass first QB with him running being after read 3/4 2) An astoundingly better secondary that actually challenges opposing QB's. Would love to call CJG, Mitchell and DeJean as "Pick city"

OT-sad commentary. Sunday is my daughters birthday as well as Mother's day. She is working today setting up her store(finally after numerous delays and being sent all over the USA to fix underperforming ones). She has to build all the chairs, displays, shelves, office furniture, assemble the fitting rooms herself. Unbox the merchandise and set the displays up all alone. I suggested I would buy her dinner TODAY since Sunday all restaurants will be swamped. She is still at her store, her hubby works today/tonight and my oldest grand daughter does too. I feel like crap myself. it's just so sad that everyone is working killing themselves and it's difficult to get everyone together on family occasions. Time is running out for me and every family get together is all I have left. IDK that this BS qualifies as "progress" I think not. I miss the old days of family days on Sunday(even watching football together) and everyone around the table together for dinner talking with NO PHONES in sight. I understand I am a dinosaur in todays world, but tech has killed off everything it touches. It has replaced humanity.I however remember working 15 hours M-F non stop, but I had weekends off. Maybe I am selfish, but people today don't know what they are missing. When they get my age they will have no memories, because none are being made TODAY. Rant over

Can empathize a bit BG. 1 constant headache going on 3 yrs, can't do crap most days, can't make plans. Many docs, only temporary relief at the ER. Feel I'm always letting everyone down, myself included. All we can do is have hope and a bit of grace.

BTW - agree about Swift, he's getting paid.

Want to see if we can get another good TE to step up and run more 12 sets. We have a few that  playing other positions who could play cross trained. Excited for the season.

Gains is no "star" I never claimed he was. Scott never was either. You could make the case Swift was last year. But both were usable in relief. You need these "duffers" because they are cheap and they give your "star" a breather. Alot of people fail to understand that this has value. It's not the yardage they get, it's not if they are named the starter, it's not if they score x amount of TD's,it's about giving your top guy the breather he needs so he can continue to play at a high level and get all those stats. An effective "COP" RB will do that and as long as they contribute and gain positive yards on the ground or in the air, they should be respected for the relief they bring so your "star" doesn't get gassed every game. Gains offers that and I'm sure in time Ships will also. Ships also has the ceiling to become the 1 eventually. So I am happy with Gains and the role he plays. All shows have a star and all shows also have a supporting cast to make the star shine. That is all I expect from Gains. As far as last years mix I still am SMH over why Penny was NEVER USED. I will always wonder why he wasn't. But looking ahead Bark gives us that true #1 RB and with the "supporting cast" it should do wonders for our ground attack. Bark is also a good blocker. Would not surprise me to see a few T or i formations with Bark as the lead RB. Although college ball belongs in college we could also on occasion run some "pistol" formation option plays. I want to see us mix it up and force defenses to try to cover all the weapons we have. Confuse, divide and destroy is my strategy

I know you hurt,TD 123 hurts,ASG hurts as well as myself. Getting old is not for wimps, but I'm 67 dodged death 7 times(literally) and I'm still here. We are tough cookies my friend. Here's something else I will toss out there. The coach from Iowa said if DeJean returned to school he wanted to use him on OFFENSE. I'm not suggesting we do this now,he has alot to learn yet,but he has the skills to be used in the slot. He's big enough too LOL. Could he be used as TE2 on a "trick" play? if we can keep this coaching staff together in time I would love to see some trickery. We need to loosen up the playbook. IDK that Siri would have EVER agreed to run the Philly Special. That made that play just that more sweet. I want us to be unpredictable and this is the team that can do that. I want this team to be FUN to watch. Let's GOOOOOOO!!!

Love the kid,he just SO wants to play. he doesn't care where. Love seeing players who love the game. If you love what you do,you get better at it. He has a HUGE future here. You called this one early, glad he is in green(hopefully KELLY green)

I'm also excited to see if Ainias cuts it here. He was never a TOP WR per se,but IMO he was the BEST SLOT on the board. A bit shocked no one else saw what I saw. I'm glad the Eagles did

I really would like to see the unis COMBINE the old with the new. Love the NEW logo better than the old full Eagle. Kelly green with SILVER stripes and trim(not gray)  with midnight green wings on a kelly green helmet. Work those 3 through the rest of the uni. Maybe have the full bird(old logo) on the sleeves. Put the new "E" logo on the front and back with the player number right under it. I would love to design these myself

The uniform is an issue. The Mojo was flowing in the Kelly Green.

I think Gainwell gets the 2nd amount of snaps.... but Shipley gets more carries.

Kelly green brings back memories of freezing my butt off at the Vet as a kid. No big stadium monitors back then but dad had his Marine crank up tv. It only had a 4" screen but peeps would line up behind us to watch.

Too much money

Swift getting paid, think it's like 8 mill/yr avg plus bonuses - tough to afford another high priced RB

Gains (maybe) last year here. I fully suspect Ship to solidly take over the 2 at some point in the season. It's not something we have to rush. And as per Moore we will use different RB's depending who we play. Not that bark won't get the lions carry share, but if 1 relief back is the better option we have 2  to choose from. At the end of the year we will see if the late RB can move off the PS and onto the roster. Then we won't miss Gains at all, and Ham will be so happy

https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/roob-observations-devante-parker-dandre-swift-saquon-barkley-carson-wentz/584221/  This "reporter" is a moron if he thinks Ainias Smith won't take over the WR3 spot. He says WR3 may not be on the roster right now and he is totally wrong. Obviously this idiot cannot scout WR's. Best SLOT WR in the draft. he will need to get "NFL acclimated" but that should happen fairly quickly. Then I want this fool fired for stupidity. Only way he won't make an impact is if he is ignored. Hurts needs to make 3(at least) reads, not 1. This guy(Frank) has been around the block, and I can't believe he is this stupid. I fully expect Smith to take the job outright before mid season(if they let him play that is). I don't want another Penny where talent rides pine). Parker can be used in the RZ,but Smith should be used on the way to the EZ and get the bulk of the catches from the slot. Now add in Goedert and Hurts needs to process faster than he has done in the past. With Bark here, I expect to see LESS RPO and more PLAY action passing. If the Oline is solid there is zero reason for Hurts not to be able to make 4 reads and pass decisively. Although Ainias is not the talent of JJ,he has many similar qualities and we would be foolish not to utilize him. Hurts needs to see him. If he can do that A Smith can be a devastating weapon and I would love to roll up this article and ram it down "Roobs" throat. Roob is not a noob but he is a huge boob writing this
