Here is Hurts throwing that pass to Devonte vs the Chiefs... slightly less than 50 yards as he plants perfectly in the pocket and Smith has to wait for the ball.

I get it ...you love Hurts.   That's great as he is the Eagles QB.

2 things that works against him... his height and his arm strength.

It absolutely makes the most sense to have a quality TE 1 like Goedert to maximize Hurts ability.

Goedert can pass protect for Hurts ... he can take a screen pass and create YAC after faking a block...   he can run block which helps keep Hurts ahead of the chains.

Yes I would love a stud 3rd WR in addition, but isn't as important to the offense as Goedert.   We have seen that in games he has missed.

I remember,I think it was Favre, throwing 74 yards in the air in the annual QB competition. Unreal

Mike Vick threw the ball completely out of the stadium

How did things look in the game AJ missed?

And Hurts can't, he is an intermediate passer. 45 yards is good for him. Many times our WR's outrun that distance and he has to look elsewhere if he holds the ball too long

AJ is not WR3. TE1 would be missed much more than WR3

A third WR would he huge for our O to be elite. But becomes absolutely crucial if AJ or Smitty miss time. Hurts prefers throwing to WR. Probably partially developed from his upbringing and spread O experiences. I’m not anti-Goedert or TE. Just can see how much value I’d place in a quality third WR. I’d like it all ideally.

BTW I have NP with accurate 45 yard passes, but in a 65 yard hail mary situation I would have to count Hurts out of that

Paris is a stop gap IMO,still better than Quez, but if Ainias is 1/2 of what I saw, that position will be fixed for many years. I hope that happens

Nope…Hurts doesn’t have the arm of Mike Vick. Very few ever have. Just posted the fact of Hurts has already showcased completing a 58 air yard pass completion at a very young age. So your spin busted before you even had a chance to post it. He has a quality enough arm. Mixing that with so many other quality franchise QB boxes he checks we are very lucky to have him leading our team.

So why focus on what can’t be coached are anything done about. Instead of Hurts Hating hyperfocusing on his limitations…. why not embrace all the quality his hard work and dedication can deliver for us?

Another thing I liked about Ainais, well 2 things,he has a burst acceleration,if you miss the tackle he is GONE!. And he has great hands,he can take laser shots all day

Not bad being misused all year

Just pointing out he wasn’t even top ten last year…though I believe he is a top ten TE. Honestly I don’t even know how I’d rank the TEs. There is Kelce. Then four or five second tier level TEs. Then I’d put Goedert in the conversation against the rest.

Because any decent coach has this talent built in. No one is hyperfocused we merely point out Hurts isn't a god. I'm glad he works hard,he still has work to do. He will probably never throw 65 yards,so we have to use the short game for him. The more short tools you have(TE and slot and pass catching RB's) the better Hurts will be. Speed is not that important as the guys we have already can outrun Hurts arm. That is not hating Hurts, he is human and has his limitations. It's just reality

It was a viral video at the time, Vick could flip his wrist and throw a laser dart 40 yards.

Yeah as I said last year was bad for him stat wise because he was used wrong. I don't think Moore makes that mistake. Now it comes down to target share which will be an issue because of our outside WR's. A decent slot guy will cut into that too,but we need to be able to hurt teams anywhere on the field,so IDK how he does this year either we will see

Mike Vick was shorter than Hurts

Why is it " hating"???     When the whole point of the conversation is to help him.   Since he doesn't have the arm, it makes sense to get him the player that can help him in so many ways like Goedert.     Getting a guy like A Smith instead of Quez.  Quez was drafted in 2020... Hurts was not the QB1 at that time.   Now, we look to get guys that can help Hurts.   The two rookies ... one with the YAC, the ability with the ball in his hands once he gets it near the line.... and the big body outside WR that works for his soft lofted jump ball.

It's not hating... it's understanding the limitations.. and looking to build an offense around him.    I don't get why you come off with this anger when finally they addressed specifically the proper type of players ... the style ... that fits with Hurts????

Let the anger go man.... its 2024, your guy had his best offseason and to be honest, look at what they did around him.... locked up every young player... Mailata, Dickerson, AJ and Smith... they added the best RB available, an all around type of guy that can handle a workload, pass protect and be a quality receiver.    The added touch with the 2 WRs that fit perfectly for specifically him.    they changed the play caller to a guy that has had success with lesser talent.

I don't get all this obsession with the negative???

I’m not disagreeing with any of this

Yeah I know... it was a problem... I went out there in 2013 in the Denver blowout... they had Manning, then we had Vick...and then Foles came in.   In person you can really see how Vick was at a huge disadvantage in the pocket trying to see over guys.

Wasn’t it me that brought up the point of needing somebody other than just Goedert for the YAC creation plays? That’s just not some Hurts thing…that’s universal. A whole group of plays designed for this. But how quickly can we get Smith up and running in this feature? How long will it take to see a complete WR package or options out of him? Johnny didn’t even produce much in college. So even with Hurts putting in a bunch of volunteer extra work…still he’s far from a polished easy to go respect. I am hopeful both guys work out fantastic to fill the large needs for our O to become complete and elite. The time frame however…could be years. So hard for me to get behind statements acting like these guys will hit the ground contributing so much right away.

Would you place your money on either rookie producing over 350 yards and 3 TDs this season? I wouldn’t.
