People saying the defence did enough to win the game? We average what 17ppg? They just scored 36

it was a total team loss not sure how many ways to say it

They're stuck on Pickett like he's the reason we lost

Parsons will destroy Pickett

Yeah I forgot those don't count towards winning.  Silly me.

Barkley and AJ did enough to win.

Pickett did enough to win.

Smith lost us the game.

So, we’re just going to ignore this?

I get you’re frustrated, but putting the blame solely on Smitty is absurd. Nine times out of ten, he makes that catch. This was just one of those games.

who is the Siri clone they have speaking?  I didn’t know he was capable of being articulate…he’s came a long way on the podium.

I don't care about the #1 seed, it's unlikely the Eagles were going to get it. The Lions are not losing to the Niners. The only real way for the Eagles to have gotten the #1 seed was for the Lions to lose vs SF. Because if the Vikings lose today or next week, they'd have nothing to play for week 18. And if they both win, then week 18 decides the 1 seed between them.

I'm more disheartened that a defense we all expected us to carry the Eagles to a deep playoff run gave up 22 4th quarter points and needed a clutch stop, but couldn't get it. I still trust the defense generally, but what the F. And we saw signs of this vs Atlanta and the Jags too. The Jags were driving down the field with ease for the win until Lawrence made an awful throw. Something about the way this defense plays in those spots that's concerning to me. Big picture I care more about that than the #1 seed which likely was not happening anyway.

As soon as McLaurin made that catch on the sideline with about 1 minute left, I said this is the Falcons all over again and they are losing this game. They were getting the chunks they needed with little to no opposition from the Eagles defense. Bad time for the defense to go soft.

Was really hoping for Jalen Carter to step up and make a big play only to get juked out of his socks by Daniels.

And the defense on 4th and 11 has one job too.  It was a team loss.  Why is that so hard for you to come to grips with?

Barkley dropped a pass, Pickett threw a pick, Becton blocked left when he should have blocked right, Calcaterra was abused all game... Brown dropped a ball he shouldn't have.

Defense gave up a 4th and 11 in the 4th quarter.  Defense didn't get the stop when it was needed the most.  Defense gave up 3 4th quarter TDs.

ST gave up short fields all game long.

Smith's one mistake is looming large because of when it happened, but all the other mistakes throughout the game could have been a difference making play.  They ALL had one job, and each of them, in their turn blew it.  TEAM.

This is 100% accurate.

Like I said, you can’t argue with idiots, the guy just doesn’t get it

He got a garbage time TD and two point conversion with 28 seconds left. He did not almost lead a comeback.

Sure…we’ll just blow them out in the playoffs.

I remember vividly watching that game in Aruba on my honeymoon. Brutal game to watch but an awesome win!

When the defense forces 5 turnovers the offense continually does nothing with it except for give the ball back to the Commanders quickly that tends to wear down the defense.  If not for the Refs starting to hand PI calls in that second half we would have lost by more than 3 points.

But hey, you're one of the people who crucify Hurts when he's anything less than perfect so no surprise to see you bend over backwards to defend Pickett.

I think we should cut Smith he dropped a pass he should have caught. It’s unforgivable. It’s all his fault.

Pass rush was not good today. Especially in the second half

The Saquon one was a nice play by Wagner. Terrible underthrow by Pickett.

I'm still going to argue that the Saquon ball was a catch. He gathered the ball by the time he got to the ground and effectively Wagner touching him causes Saquon to be down. Kinda shocked that we didn't challenge it.

I mentioned Barkley, but ultimately THIS is why we lost:

Tanner McKee > Kenny Pickett

I didn’t say that, but it doesn’t make what you said right either. We handled him well the first game.

This loss wasn't on Kenny

Lol we absolutely did not handle him….even hurt they had a chance to win the game late and we could not stop him.

Time just ran out on them that game.

This was the kind of game I wish we had Reddick.

I think it was a catch too, BUT that play is often called incomplete. Depends on when you determine he had full control and was down.

Pickett underthrew him by 5 yards. An average throw is an easy reception and likely a TD.

That pissed me off. So blatant. Retaliation isn't legal for a punch, (they always catch the 2nd guy). How can it be legal for trash talk?

It was last week 🤷‍♂️

If we play them again in the playoffs we either lose or win another very close game.

4 minutes ago, Iggles_Phan said:

Why not blame the D for giving up a 25 yard scramble on 4th and 11?   That was just as big a swing play as the drop by Smith... just not as easy to remember because there was more time on the clock, but that play had as much to do with the loss as any single play by anyone on the offense.

Teams win, teams lose - not players.  This team lost today.  Every single player, every single coach can look in the mirror and be honest with themselves about what they could have done better to ensure a win.  Of course, they can all just fool themselves and ignore their own part in it and point at #6.  That's an option, but that's not what winning teams do.  That's what LAST YEAR's team would do.  Hopefully, this team isn't that same level of immaturity.  Maybe they are though.

Besides the defenses red zone issues and 3rd/4th down issues, a massive one their inability to keep containment on Daniels. Frankly when you went back and watched the ravens game, they were fortunate Lamar Jackson did not take off more in that game. He even said it in his post game presser that he should’ve. there were opportunities for him too, and he just didn’t do it.

the difference is Daniels took advantage of it. he doesn’t mind running the ball. he got 81 yards because we had guys just rushing too far up field or just not keeping containment which gave him lanes to take off. He had first down pickups on 5 of his 9 rushing attempts. He completed 61.5% of his throws. Frankly need to make him have to stay in the pocket and beat you with his arm. Frankly he had a bad int to CJGJ and even reed’s pick was a bad decision to throw across his body.

Why do you want to die on this hill so badly?

You are being overly critical on Smitty. He dropped it, it sucks, its uncharacteristic of him, let’s move on from it
