You are thinking in a very old age way of thinking it. The game has changed. Jalen Hurts is the symbol of it. He could be onto making his 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years. Every other QB in NFL history that has made at least 3 Super Bowls, regardless of how many of them that they won, have been elected to the Hall of Fame. Jalen is 3-4 wins away from basically stamping his ticket to the Hall of Fame.

I get he's passionate and I respect that. But he's got to be doing something a little extra to be that wired and crazy. Maybe dipping into some white, snowy stuff from time to time?

Anyone know what starters are expected to play limited snaps on Sunday? The only pseudo-starters on the team I'd want to see play are Dotson and Calcaterra. And I'd prefer they find a way to keep some of the key rotational guys on defense off the field too. They can elevate 2 PS guys. I'd want:

QB: Mckee

RB: Tank/Shipley
WR: Dotson/Cooper/Covey

TE: Calcaterra

LT/RT: ?? Johnson / ?

LG/RG: Toth/Pryor

OC: Kendall

DT: Robinson/Young

Edge: Uche/Graham. Sorry BG, you've gotta play. Elevate Patrick Johnson? Phillips certainly won't play and I want rest/protection for Hunt and Smith.

LB: Trotter Jr. / Mondon

CB: Ringo/Bennett/Carter II

S: Brown / PS elevation?

OL/edge/S are where things get hairy. They only have 3 safeties on the roster and cannot afford to lose one. Could they activate some of their guys on IR who are pretty clearly healthy and getting stashed? The meaningful players who may get stuck with reps are Steen, Nolan Smith / Hunt, and Epps. And I'd prefer they find a way around that.

PS elevation options: Patrick Johnson, Andre Sam (S). They have essentially no play-able OL on the PS to elevate. Hinton and Cameron Williams aren't really hurt at this point. But I guess the Eagles don't want to risk them on the PS or carry them on the roster.

Maybe best bet is to activate Patrick Johnson and Andre Sam so all valuable defenders are off the field. Put Pryor at LT and have Steen as the lone valuable guy playing as the RG...and the offense doesn't figure to be on the field much with that lineup, so he'll get his share of rest anyway. The OL is pretty thin, so they'll have to dress most of their starting OL as backups in case someone goes down.

If the Eagles decide to go with your elevation strategies, they'll be forced to go for it on every fourth down and will have to go for two after every touchdown.

You forgot to account for the fact that Hughlett is on the practice squad and has to be one of the two elevations every week going forward.

Yea. The cares about winning only slightly matters, if at all. No young QB who shows some talent would be content with winning if it means he doesn’t play at all. McKee would probably go to the Jets if guaranteed a starting spot vs staying here as the highest paid backup QB.

If Falcons win then it doesn't matter who wins the Panthers Bucs game.

I defend Hurts plenty, but this is indefensible. Being late in the play clock (the worst in the league) is absolutely part of their problems on offense.

And I'm sure Patullo / Sirriani are part of the reason why it is this bad, but Jalen is also part of it.

Well, I think playing Epps is risky considering we only have 3 safeties and one of them is Sydney Brown. I guess that means some of the starting DE's are going to have to play.
