In my opinion the only way a team would give up two 1sts plus would be if we win the SB again, or at least win the NFCC. If we flame out and the offense stinks then his value drops.

You can call me a hater but if you stick Hurts on another team then I doubt he makes those 3 SBs. He's got a superb supporting cast and you guys constantly attribute team stats solely to him. Do I think Hurts is good? Yes. Do I think he's great? No. He got lucky that he's on a team with this type of talent

Even Peyton sucked in his last SB win. The defense won that one

They didn't dodge a bullet because they were never under serious consideration by Tatsuya. Japanese baseball stars don't consider Philadelphia as a destination. Only way it might possibly change is if we win a couple WS over a 3-5 year period. Otherwise, Philly isn't in the mix.

Phillies are half pregnant with their aging roster. Have enough guys to make playoffs and pay a huge luxury tax but not enough to be truly competitive in the current environment
