Brown did struggle to get separation last year. And why is that ? It’s speed.

And effort.

Nothing against the guy. I just didn't want WR

This is fair. I didn’t get emotionally attached to anyone this draft. If we had drafted Lawrence at our actual pick like the cowboys did would that have worked for you?

Did anyone else hear Saban get caught saying "this is a reach" before the cowboys pick 😂

The guy banging the drum against him the loudest is the most negative, miserable person here - most people are level-headed enough to take a wait and see approach.

Had to put him on mute. Unbearable.

I like Lemon at 20 and not too worried about the 4ths they gave up to get him. Howie drops from a 70%+ hit rate in rounds 1-3 to about 45% in the 4th. Do they take Oscar Delp at 54 if he's there?

It does kind of suck to lose out on 114 and 137 and I would have rather given up 98 but this draft kind of sucks and it was well worth it to be able to jump Pittsburgh and secure Lemon. I WAY prefer Lemon to Iheanachor or Faulk who probably would have been the pick.

I don't understand the logic in trading up for a OT that would sit at least a year. Bad use of resources in my opinion. If one fell to them, sure take him, but don't give up more ammo if they are going to ride the bench. If Howie knows he's getting the Pats 2027 1st rounder, that makes it easier to get an elite OT next draft.

Has it been confirmed that Lane is retiring after this season, or is that just speculation? If Lane committed to Howie that’s he’s planning to be around for another two years, the burning need for a tackle suddenly diminishes.

I see all you f'n nerds really nailed it with the master of the draft game this year roll

With the AJ Brown trade virtually certain to happen June 1st, they would have been severely lacking at WR. Would you be comfortable with a WR corps of DeVonta, Wicks, and Hollywood Brown?

If Howie is operating under the assumption AJ is gone and the Eagles have an additional 1st rounder next year, WR is the biggest immediate need on the team.

I don't think there's much there in the 4th round that wouldn't be that different from the 5th/6th. This draft is just not deep and didn't have a lot of elite/blue chip players. Depth isn't really an issue on the team either, so those 3rd day picks that are typically used to fill out the roster aren't needed as much.

The majority of NFL offenses do not win with speed at WR. They win with route-running and scheme.

If Lemon hits, then our next WR is going to be a clear-out guy (think Shaheed, Tutu). It doesn't need to be Christian Watson.

No.... those 4th rounders were needed. It's a good spot on this draft for our TE, CB, S and where you can start considering more OL.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a rationalization.

The greatest mischaracterization of a WR prospect in my memory was how Jefferson was being discussed leading up to the draft. He's 'only a slot', 'unathletic', etc. It was comical in the lead up to the draft for me, as I knew he was the guy that year. And the more he was talked down, the more I knew he'd be sitting there for the Eagles. But, it then turned tragic as the Eagles missed the boat so badly, and then went with a guy that wasn't as fast as he was supposed to be, wasn't good at actually catching the ball, and didn't have the drive to get better. And then JJ went one spot later, as the cream of that class. It's funny to me that even after folks have seen JJ a ton, that stupid characterization of who he is still persists in the minds of some. It is true that he is a technician, but he's not Steve Largent either. He's clearly a + athlete at WR, and he leverages that athleticism with crisp route running and great hands.

Day two targets for me:

OL: Chase Bisontis, Emmanuel Pregnon, Gennings Dunker, Caleb Tiernan, Dametrious Crownover, Markel Bell, Austin Barber

TE: Max Klare, Oscar Delp, Sam Roush, Justin Joly

Edge: Cashius Howell, Zion Young, Gabe Jacas, Dani-Dennis Sutton, Derrick Moore

DB: Jermod McCoy, Treydan Stukes, Jalon Kilgore

I would really like to see Howie Trade down at either 54 or 68 depending on who is on the board and get back a 4th or 5th. If we could come out of tonight with with one of Bisontis/Pregnon/Dunker/Tiernan and Klare/Delp/Roush/Joly, and move down and get back a 4th or 5th I would be pretty excited. My ideal best case scenario would be one of those three guards at 54, A trade down from 68 and then taker Klare or Delp, and then draft a tackle at 98 (Crownover/Barber/Bell).

Ty Robinson

Will Shipley

Kelee Ringo

Zech McPhearson

Jack Driscoll

K'Von Wallace

Those are the 4th rounders since 2020. Not much the Eagles are missing out on.

That's alright. They have a lot of stupid things they do to. We don't have to be the same... its our differences that make us interesting - and that goes both ways.

Howie can easily get back one of those picks by trading back from 54 or 68. I'm not even remotely worried about giving up those picks to get Lemon since I think he was a way better pick than whomever they would have settled for (Iheanachor, Faulk, etc). This draft sucks too.

Find someone after the draft. Did it with Brown. I just don't agree that WR is the biggest need in the draft

Another pet peeve of mine…year to year awareness. The 2027 wr class is going to be absolutely loaded. And now we’re done at the position. Our long term WR corps will be Smith, Lemon, Wicks. Congested offense.

I thought people said this year is loaded at WR so better get one now.

Because she truly has nothing to report... but wants to pretend to be relevant. The better question is, 'why do people still pay attention?'

For people unsure of the lick this is probably the biggest positive you can get to feel good about it.

We shouldn’t also pretend that JJ is an athletic anomaly. Technique wins at the WR position more than anything IMO. The height is going to be the factor with lemon on how his career goes. On paper and tape he’s more than athletic enough. Technique looks great. Hands are amazing. Now can they utilize him properly is the question. I don’t think he’s a clear #1 stud that a lot thought JJ could be.

Certainly DeVonta’s size was a question coming in. Reasonable concern for sure but of course he’s been great.

That was the only question about him. He was an elite producer, from an elite school, known for creating elite WR talent.
