Just looked at three different day two mocks:

All three had them taking Max Klare at 68 and Austin Barber at 98, with Emmanuel Pregnon, Cashius Howell, AJ Haulcy, as the three picks at 54.

That was the only question about him. He was an elite producer, from an elite school, known for creating elite WR talent.

So do you like the Lemon pick?

We shouldn’t also pretend that JJ is an athletic anomaly. Technique wins at the WR position more than anything IMO. The height is going to be the factor with lemon on how his career goes. On paper and tape he’s more than athletic enough. Technique looks great. Hands are amazing. Now can they utilize him properly is the question. I don’t think he’s a clear #1 stud that a lot thought JJ could be.

I never said he was. But, he is a + athlete at WR. He's not JJAW.

I thought people said this year is loaded at WR so better get one now.

I read that here and was basing my opinion on the pick because I don't follow college lol

You can make the argument their 5th rounders are similar or better:

Drew Kendall

Smael Mondon

Mac McWilliams

Trevor Keegan

Jeremiah Trotter

Ainias Smith

Kenneth Gainwell

John Hightower

We haven't seen much from a lot of them, but its not a deep draft and I don't think there is that much of a difference in talent from 4th to 5th rounds this year.

Philly is just slapping Pittsburgh around right now. The Sixers might even be able to beat their basketball team if they were to match up. Not so sure the Phillies could keep the domination going though.

I know. Not saying you are. I’m more so highlighting you’re ’doing the little things right’ assessment of him.

I have no opinion. I see why some would like it. I see why some others wouldn't. I'll say this, it doesn't excite me. Generally speaking, elite WRs in the NFL have something special about them. Lemon doesn't seem to possess anything elite, so that caps his upside. He looks like he might have a very high floor though. He's a single... maybe double type pick to me. Not a home run by any stretch and not a pick that should cause anyone to take a victory lap.

They need to have Gritty on stage for one of the picks 🤣

Those are the 4th rounders since 2020. Not much the Eagles are missing out on.

2021 Amon Ra, 2022 had a slew of TEs (Otten, Likely, Kolar, Ferguson), 2023 Herbig, 2024 Bucky Irving

There’s guys in the 4th, just need to do better.

Maybe wait until you are actually on the clock to make the call.

I guarantee most of the guys that hate the Lemon pick, if another NFCE team took him at #20 they'd be whining "and another division team gets better. Howie's gonna reach for a project OT."

Lemon is not as sturdy or fast as Steve Smith if you want to try that angle. Jefferson a couple inches taller. Hopefully Lemon combines the best of the two and goes to the HOF, haha. Odds are he’s just decent.

And has tiny Trump hands

I become more and more convinced every day that 90% of the regulars in the blog have never seen a V up close, in person.

This draft is probably worse

Howie can easily get back one of those picks by trading back from 54 or 68. I'm not even remotely worried about giving up those picks to get Lemon since I think he was a way better pick than whomever they would have settled for (Iheanachor, Faulk, etc). This draft sucks too.

I said last night, he can trade down from our own 3rd, in to the 4th and pick up a 5th or something.

Still, wont be as good as having that 3rd, AND two 4ths.

dumb argument. This class is stacked in the middle rounds. And, at positions we need too.

Teams calling players a pick ahead isn’t really all that out of the ordinary. I feel like I read stories like this every year, but it’s usually on day 3.

Yep. Will we miss a long-term TE2? No, because they can be found later on. But it would have been nice to get one this year.
